nothing more than a local derby between amateur students

I've shown clips of VT football to people from all over the world. It really is quite unbelievable for everyone around the world that so many people attend amateur sporting events. In Australia professional rugby teams are lucky if they can attract 20,000. In South Korea and Japan baseball is big but stadiums are around 30 - 40,000 max. India loves cricket and gets a solid 15 - 30,000 in their new professional league. In China soccer and basketball are king and they pull in very small crowds.

There is nothing better than college football.

Looking at current capacities, motor racing is definitely the highest. College football is really high. European, Mexican and Brazilian soccer are also up there.

Although, college football maybe the only sport that has a regular weekly schedule with that large of capacity.
