I propose an April 6th start date this year, we could move it back if we feel the need to do so.
Basic Rules:
The draft will run from 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday until the start of the NFL Draft (Thursday, April 23rd) or the completion of the 6th round.
Once a team is on the clock, they will have two hours to make a selection. If a team goes on the clock after 4pm, their two-hour window will roll over to the next day.
For example, if you go on the clock at 4:30pm, you will have until 9:30 am to make a selection. Picks may be made between 6pm and 9am if GMs are online and following the draft thread.
The time limit only applies during the 9am to 6pm timeframe.
If the two hour time limit expires, I will make a pick using any list that the GM for the team has sent me in advance (send lists to the email address in my profile) or in the absence of a list, I will use the GBN Big Board with a little discretion so as not make an obvious dumb pick (i.e. Kansas City won't be taking a QB in the 1st round this year).
If a GM misses two consecutive picks without providing a prospect list or making some form of contact with me (email or posting on the draft thread) the spot will be reassigned to one of the TKPers who have expressed an interest to fill the vacancy.
I think we should hold on to the 6th/7th round picks, if only to use them in trade scenarios. I did multiple trades last year which involved swapping later round picks in order to make the trade values balance out. Whether or not we get to drafting those picks is another thing altogether.
I say we nominally hold a four round draft, shoot for five, and then allow for six and/or seven as stretch goals only if we finish early.

With how everything is going right now, I would think some people might be a little more interested in joining and I would like to invite people to join as a team GM.

VTFootballGrad, can you produce an updated list of GMs, so people can know which teams are available? I would think at this point only one team per poster, so that we can get more people onboard. We can assign second teams closer to Monday.
I missed this when updating the list and someone else claimed it. I can try to get that person to take another team, unless you would want to reconsider.
i'm in, just fell asleep at the wheel. I see the team list is pretty full at this point but i'd take a random team if someone is doubled up. I'm a Titans fan, but didn't have them last year either so i'm not picky.
I said I would take the Bills and the Panthers, but i will drop the bills and just do the panthers if someone else wants them..aint no point in having a waiting list if you have one person doing two teams...

I think it was a bit of a petty call, and one reason why I am considering not reupping TKPC.
I've literally already sent in an email to stop my TKP scrip.
Joe talked me out of it for a bit, but probably the nail in the coffin on the choice at this point. Again, not his fault, but without this type of distraction there is little to no content to draw my interest to the site.

I was going down the rabbit hole on something else and ran across this. For what it's worth, you've posted 685 comments since this one, that's nearly one a day, every day, for almost two years since there wouldn't be enough distraction or content to draw your interest to the site.

I get it, but the thread was like the one actual thing keeping me checking the site. I can only read about recruits we won't get and sports that arn't being played so much.

They just took Fant in the first round. Of those teams, bears have the bigger immediate need.

I was thinking about starting this thread soon, but you beat me too it.
I can put up the list of GMs from last year and the returning GMs can check off who they would like to be their main team.
We are going to have plenty of room for other people to join as well this time around as most people had 2 teams last year.
If we need to double up like last year, we can do that closer to the draft.

Let's try to keep it at either 4 or 5. I tried making trades involving 6th and 7th round picks and got in a lot of trouble.

Part of the reason we didn't make it that far last year was because we had everyone picking for 2 or even 3 teams.
We kind of ran out steam.
We ran out of steam, but I think fewer, more active drafters made it go much faster
We can play it by ear this time around. If we get enough GMs than we can attempt more rounds. If it's like last year, we should just do 4 rounds.
