The men play their last home game of the season tonight at 7PM against Clemson. The game is on the ACC Network. They beat Clemson in their first game of the season at Clemson in a game that Clemson was ice cold in the second half shooting 23% overall and 7% from three. The Hokies were also fortunate that Jr guard Clyde Trapp did not play in that game.
Clemson, like everyone else in the world, is taller than the Hokies; but when Ojiako is on the floor, we match up fairly well.

Clemson is 15-13 and 9-9 in the ACC. They are 11-5 at home and 3-7 on the road. They beat NC State, Duke, Louisville, and Florida State at home; so they can play with the best in the league at times. They have won 4 of their last 5, with the only loss at Georgia Tech. In that streak, they beat Louisville and Florida State at home and BC and Pitt on the road. They are playing well right now.

Clemson averages 66 pts/game and gives up 66 pts/game, which makes sense for a 9-9 team. Their assist to TO ratio is about 1. Simms and Mack average 2.5 fouls per game. Mack has fouled out twice.
We can win this game; but it sure would be good if Nolley could find his shot tonight.
Go Hokies!

Senior night!!!!!!
Oh wait....
Must win, in that I hate Clemson and their fans.
Let's go boys, last home game let's get a w
Im gonna finish up watching this tech baseball game then I'll watch the basketball game
ACCNet announcer critical of the officials on a block/charge call. And a replay that showed how bad the call was. Its miraculous!
Can't even get calls on our own court.
If you're Duke that's not on the floor. Terrible call. Typical inconsistent ACC officiating.
This officiating crew is putrid. Even by ACC standards they are horrific.
I like Bede finishing at the rim. Helpful
It's amazing how much better the offense flows with 5 scorers on the floor
I like some of MY's offense sets but sometimes we get into a rythm and no one actually goes to make a play. Wish we had more threats to drive besides Radford but hopefully Bamisile and Maddox will provide some of that next year!
Hope we can finish the Tigers for the sweep and to officially end their slim NCAA hopes.
Hokies are wet right now
wow, can hear the calls from the audience to the refs "you're terrible". I guess nothing embarasses them.
Great showing tonight. The win assures that we do not finish last as was expected at the start of the season and we do not finish with a losing record overall. Minor victories.
Based on where this team sat 10 months ago, I wouldn't call this a minor victory. The team has been competitive, and never quit all year. Better than expected by anyone.
That has been my opinion all year. We had to replace the top FIVE scorers from last years Tournament team and the head coach. A winning season is huge and even bigger when you consider we should return 99% of our shooting and minutes from this year.
That was a pretty fun game too watch๐

Awesome win for the Hokies. Senior night win. Love it.
General question... Should CMY and Whit consider participating in the CBI this year?
Worse teams from Power 5 schools have participated in the past and it could be an opportunity for a young team to play up to 6 more games.
Why wouldn't they accept an invite? Its the equivalent of bowl season for football, they would get probably 8-10 extra practices and 4-5 more games if they do well.
It is a pay to play tournament and might not be seen as that "prestigious" to an ACC school (although Pitt played in 2012).
WVU paid $40k to play last year so there is the potential for losing money if ticket sales are poor and/or we have an early exit.
EDIT: Looking into this a little more and WVU last year is actually a good case study. They had 1 senior and finished 14-20 (4-14). This year they are 20-10 and a lock for the tournament.
I believe UVA played in it in Bennett's first year iirc
GCHokie34 said on TSL last weekend that teams can practice until the Final Four with or without a post season. I wasn't aware of that but GC was a college coach. Apparently you hold 4 on 4 practices or something.
I was just gonna ask if people thought we'd accept an invite. There might be more home games depending on seeding which is always fun
Man, great win! Nolley will have 15 more points a game when he learns to lean into his airborne defender and shoot after that pump fake๐ต My man always gets his defender airborne on the pump, sometimes multiple times in one attempt! DRAW THAT CONTACT BIG GUY
Earlier in the season, he would do that at least once a game, it seems he has gone away from it for some reason though
With the win over Clemson, Mike Young has guaranteed the first winning season for a first year coach since Seth Greenberg (03-04) and the most wins since Stokes (1999-2000). If the Hokies can pull off the win in South Bend, this season would have the most wins since Frankie Allen's inaugural season: 19 wins in 1987-1988 in the old Metro Conference. Should the Hokies win at Notre Dame and win a game in Greensboro (or the unlikely two wins in Greensboro), this would be the most conference wins for a first year Hokie coach since...Howie Shannon, way back in 1964-65 in the Southern Conference.
