The Ladies play Wake Forest at 11 AM today in Greensboro. The game is on Regional Sports Networks and ACCNx.
For me that means ATT Sports Pittsburgh. The Hokies beat Wake on Feb 16 at Wake. In that game Wake did not shoot well from three. Last night against UNC, they sot 47% from thee and 45% overall. If Raca, Morra and Sharp play as well this morning, the Ladies will be challenged. Wake Forest is tall enough to challenge the Hokies; but they really have anyone to match up with Kitley.
Wake Forest was aided in the UNC game by foul problems for the UNC bigs. Janelle Bailey only played 22 minutes because of foul issues. Raca had 27 points and 13 rebounds. Morra had 19 points and 9 rebounds. Sharp had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Instead of the usual stats table, here is the box score from last night.
I don't know who gets the assignment to guard Raca, but if they can slow her down, this should be a win for the Hokies. She will be tough to guard; she shoots the three well and has an inside game. UNC pressed most of the game yesterday and there were several time when Conti got flustered and made a turnover. With Bailley out most of the game Raca and Sharp had a lot of room in the paint. Hopefully, the Hokies can give them more problems under the basket.
I think we can win this one.

Its not on the main ACCN feed. - a 1995 Duke UNC basketball game is in that slot, versus a LIVE ACC Tournament game. I get that it's not a primary sport, but that is an awful look for the conference. Save your freaking old replay re-hash for when there are not live sports feeds available, especially a conference tournament, in any sport.

26-26 at the half. We're not getting good shots. We are doing a pretty good job on Raca. She has 9 points, but also has 4 turnovers.
From the play by play, it seems like a great game. Holding a 1-3 point for most of it. First team to make run may win it.
42-41 Wake after 3 quarters. Refs are letting the Wake forwards shoulder Kitley out of the way for easy shots underneath. Mabrey has cooled off and Sheppard is not scoring. Fourth quarter will be a challenge.
Not doing a good job boxing out the WF players on the defensive rebounds either. WF has twice as many offensive rebounds as we do.
Down by 7 with 4:36 to go. Got to find some offense.

Lost a game we should have won. Brooks got out coached. He kept trying to force the ball inside when Wake was doubling and tripling Kitley and the refs weren't calling anything inside. Hope we still make the NCAA.
