I somewhat sarcastically picked UVA- whom lost their best 3 players from a year ago, and 3 pro's - to go 17-3 in the ACC anyway this year. Well, they went 15-5 with their worst team in 4-5 years. Uncanny. We better hope Bennett goes to Kentucky, Wisky or the NBA or UVa's annoying asses will not only beat us 9 out of 10 times, we will have to watch that horrid brand of basketball win EVERY close ACC game 52-51 as long as he is here. He is an elite coach- not a good coach- an elite coach, and he coaches at UVA- which sucks.

I don't like the concept that they have to get worse to beat them. I'd rather see us get better, I think that's a realistic goal in college basketball too.
They were "worse" this year than in the past 4 or 5... and they destroyed us once, and beat us better than the score indicated the second time. Buzz beat them twice in his last 7 tries, one of those was the miracle that hung on the rim for them.
This was also our worst team in like 4 years. Simply put, we just need to get better. The good news is, I'm confident we will. We have a good coach and a young team. Be patient my dude.

I know it's a joke, and I personally don't take it as political commentary, but I had one TKPCer cancel because a meme / GIF featuring a politician. Which sucks.
Understandable. I thought since it was trump gif from the Ellen Degeneres show it was about as balanced as possible. I tried to keep both sides in mind.

Tony Bennett is great - but the run of luck they are on right now is simply incredible. It's like losing to UMBC gave them so much good luck that they will never run out.
Not to mention, the game winning FTs happened because Miami fouled, on purpose, in a tie game with just seconds left. Can't make it up.
This isn't to say they aren't good, Bennett isn't HOF caliber, etc. - but when will the bounces not go their way? When will they finally go ours?

Yup. Can't remember exactly how, but Miami tied it up at 44 all, shot clock is off and time is running out. UVA hustles down the court.
Larranaga yells - "DON'T FOUL, DON'T FOUL" but the guard hears "FOUL" and purposefully fouls Kihei Clark coming across the mid-court stripe with somewhere between 11s-7s left if I remember correctly.
at some point it isn't luck though. Good/great shooting teams can't hit shots against them. I have joked that Reggie Miller and Steph Curry would go 3-15 from 3 against UVA
Agree completely. Only one issue - in most of the close games, UVA is giving up the lead (VT, UNC, Miami off the top of my head) and subsequently hitting the shot to win it with no time remaining (and all of them minus Diakete are average or below shooters).

Some actual discussion on perhaps how UVA finished second in the ACC with a "down" roster for them? Is the ACC down? do we still hate UVA? etc. I was hoping to spur some discussion around their season.
If fostering a discussion about lolUVA's basketball season was your goal, perhaps you should have done that in your original forum topic. Discussions normally start with scenarios, articles, or questions designed to facilitate discussion. Instead your forum topic was promoting your incorrect prediction for lolUVA's record this year. How does that translate into promoting a good discussion? I would once again ask you to read the Community Guidelines...Joe wrote them for a reason.
I think if our season had ended a little closer to the way it started, we would have more enthusiasm to discuss
