BREAKING: Virginia Tech leading scorer Landers Nolley II will transfer, source told @Stadium. The 6-foot-7 sophomore averaged 15.5 points and 5.8 boards per game last season. Source told me he wants to find a spot where he can play on the wing.— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanHoops) March 16, 2020

Jeez. I don't even know what to say. Transferring from a team on the rise that will let him do anything he wants. I don't get it.
Not to mention one that went strongly at bat with him against the NCAA over that stupid ACT issue.
Didn't he make the All-ACC Academic team?
He did
#IRONIC
"strongly at bat"....I do not believe there is a consensus on this.
Not ideal, but we'll be okay. He sorta disappeared as ACC play developed.
Averaged 14.8 pts in ACC play, and 11.4 pts over the second half of ACC play
Ray Charles could have seen that one coming. He had checked out midway through the season, and I could just feel it coming on like a scratchy throat. Sad to see it but it seemed inevitable to me. We will be fine and hopefully so will he.
Not the best imagery for these days. Gave me a bit of a chill reading it.
Business decision and can't fault him. I think he will reach his full potential as a dedicated wing player somewhere else....a&m?
Ok that's it, I officially hate the coronavirus.
I did when it canceled the Masters
Damn.
I don't see the upside to this for him personally. Won't he have to sit out a year? He's already burned his redshirt.
No, he's transferring from VT not to VT, he gets a waiver
That damned truth.
He never planned to play 4 years of college hoops in any case. His plan is probably one more year somewhere and go pro. He probably could have stayed at Tech and gone pro at the end of next season. This way it will take him 2 years. But as it says below, he will probably get a waiver.
why would he be eligible for waiver? had he transferred in March 2019 he could claim coaching change. He can't claim that now.
That was just snark because it seems like big schools always find a way to get a waiver and Tech never does.
I want him to play wing as well! I think he will need to work on his handle though, he was inconsistent in getting to the rim when his shot went cold.
Yep. Whenever he took more than 2 or 3 dribbles into the lane I was anticipating a TO more than anything else.
Yep, he can't dribble very well.
#hottake time
This might be better for us in the long term.
We're better off when we are playing as a team, where everyone feels like they have to produce on any given possession. (Disclaimer: I'm going to ignore pretty much everything that happened after the first UNC game, because my gut tells me that we were just exhausted as a team and nothing we were going to try was going to work by then). Too often this year, it seemed like the team would just default to an offense that was 'iso for Nolley" whenever he was on the court. It was good we had someone who could step up like that, but the rest of the team never seemed to get engaged when that happened. Now that he is leaving, the rest of the team will have to grow up fast, and I think they'll be better for it.
None of this is a detriment to Nolley's game. I think he could be an excellent piece on a contending team. We tried to make him the alpha killer on an undermanned team, and that was probably asking way too much. As a wing on a team with a couple other guys already at his talent level? He could have a dominant season and really vault up the draft lists. Best of luck down the line.
I agree. Absolutely no #sauces, but I doubt Mike Young tried super hard to get him to stay. Talented yes, but not a long-term fit.
Worth mentioning as well that MY mentioned several times that he'd prefer to play Nolley at the 3.
His shot selection in the second half of the year was horrendous and especially in tournament game against Carolina. Wasn't a big fan of him getting the green light to jack 12 threes a game with a hand in the face and make maybe 2 of them, it's hard to win like that
I think this is the best for all parties. Sometimes it's just not a fit, and that's no ones fault. I appreciate him coming back and giving it a shot, shame it didn't work out but he will do good things elsewhere and we will be continue to grow as a program in the coming years.
Hello
darknessoffseason, our old friend.#MarchMadness
Now if that said "OFFSEASON" it'd be perfect.
Not what I meant, but good one. Leg for you.
Can I take back my #FreeNolley tweet?
Well, I'm doing it anyway.
Well, he's free now, so we've got that going for us.
He is that.
Edit: Forgot the obligatory...WhichIsNice.gif
We wanted him free, but not THAT free!
Interesting to see how he get recruited with no visits or in person contacts allowed.
This is what I came to ask. So with all activities suspended coaches can't do any recruiting/contact for any sports? Wow, I hadn't thought of the impact of that.
Pretty sure someone said elsewhere that pretty much all online contact is allowed (Twitter, whatever).
Hot take:
There were times i felt like his game didn't fit our scheme last year and killed the momentum when we were making runs. He's a good player and i hate losing him, but i think it will be interesting to see if there's any drop off with the 2 highly rated recruits that CMY recruited for his system replacing his production.
Edit - Also funny he specifies wanting to play on the wing, when, IMO, one of his biggest weaknesses was his inability to take anyone off of the dribble and get to the rim.
If he's that blind to his game and willing to leave over it, then maybe we'll be better off without him.
Agreed... his game seems to be spotting up for 3's while a skilled post player draws doubles or a quick teammate drives the lane, drawing help. Both those scenarios didn't fit our 2019-20 team all that well, and are a question mark whether the roster additions would allow for that on our 2020-21 team.
In 2019-20 his secondary scoring skills of running off screens for open looks and posting up shooting guards were featured, but obviously were not that effective against ACC competition. He did draw attention from opposing coaches/teams but had glaring holes in his game including being able to put the ball on the floor to create his own shot, playing with quick feet on defense and generally being able to hit shots against ACC-caliber defenders in 2020. Would have been cool to see him develop & improve under CMY, but he's off to find a team with a PF & C combo in '21-22 that will bump him to the 3. At least he will have his mandatory transfer RS year in '20-21 to learn his new system and work on his wing game.
bad news for anyone who may have gotten sick of the Young Team Excuse this year
Best of luck Landers. Thanks for everything you did for a team that needed every warm body it could find.
Best of luck but IMO, I think the team has the potential to play better without him next year.
This season, Nolley had a 33.9% Usage Rate which placed him in the top 15 of all NCAA players. However, his 90.6 Offensive Rating was good for a solid #2,124 nationally... yikes.
Combine that with his low Free Throw Rate of 0.236% (not getting to the rim) and low EFG% 0.444 (taking a lot of 'bad 2's') and VT would be returning one of the highest volume players in the NCAA who is the least efficient offensively.
Also, Nolley leaving frees up a ton of minutes for CMY to rotate players who actually produced more statistically (albeit with a fraction of his usage) as well as the incoming Freshmen and Aluma.
Not just potential to be better without him. There were metrics that showed in ACC play we WERE a better team when he was on the bench.
Yup, advanced metrics were AWFUL. Tied with Branden Johnson in win shares and WS/ 40 min in conference
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/virginia-tech/2020.html
Seems legit. Is it 2021 yet?
Good luck Nolley! Hope you have a successful career
Well then. Let's go get our own transfer who's a team player
Good luck, Landers! Carrying us to a win over #3 MSU and earning ACC All-Freshman Team honors won't be forgotten. Always a Hokie.
So he is going from one and done aspirations to a 4 yr college player? I don't get that at all. If he gets a waiver I may throw something after his stupid test scores had him sitting during our sweet 16 run.
I never thought he was that good tbh
From a cohesion standpoint, I'd rather have a player committed to team than worried about draft status. Alexander Walker balanced that tight rope well last year I feel.
I had always thought he was a one and done type of guy. That's primarily why this is confusing to me.
The best part will be him being immediately eligible at Texas AM of course. We had his freshman year fiasco here, but magically he will suit up for Buzz in November.
No shit. That being said he would have likely transferred out after his freshman year had he been able to play. It is what it is though. Hopefully he lands somewhere that his game is better suited and he has a great season(s). Also hopefully our guys will grow and with the additions coming in we will improve. Looking forward to the future for sure.
Probably got passed on the depth chart
Most of the posts in this thread are in fact "we will be better without him, we don't need him" so there you go.
I mean, I rather just retain our best players (KBJ, Nolley) than let them leave.
CMY caught a raw deal his first year and recruited exceedingly beyond my expectation so for me, he gets a pass on KBJ, but I think this is the first real fuck up. If we landed PJ Hall or Henry Coleman, I don't think Nolley transfers, especially with Aluma coming into the fold.
i think Nolley's dropoff in ACC play was more symptomatic than causal. whether we wind up better off in the long run, i certainly don't know (and i'm definitely dubious), but it might be better for this team not to treat him like he's prime james harden and just ask him to go get a bucket.
He's going aTm to be with Brent.
/S
Wow surprised at the responses, although I don't know too much about basketball.
Good luck to him.
Good thing he doesn't play football or this place would be melting down at the moment.../s....kinda
/loses our best player
"We are actually better for this"
I would argue that by season's end, Radford was our best player
lost our most prolific scorer. not sure he's the best player, especially in the context of the team
Dude was a disaster in conference play. Used 34% of our possessions to shoot 24.6% from three, get to the line at an abysmal rate, and not really make 2 point baskets. I'm not trying to say he's not useful, he is, but he's not what a lot of people think he is. His dad said they view him as a 2/3 which is fine, but who is he going to guard on the perimeter? He struggles to keep up with power forwards.
Anyone who watched the second half of our season would agree with me in saying that he was not our best player.
It's disappointing because you see the potential in Nolley. I think he really wants to play 2 guard because he probably would project there as a pro. Thats why I think you see the transfer. I probably disagree with the sentiment that "VT will be better", and that's because there's so much raw talent there, I don't think VT has a ready replacement with that much talent.
I'm not sure he has the full game required to play the 2 in the NBA, but who knows, maybe he'll be all world. Hope where ever he ends up he succeeds though.
His play early in the season was pretty pretty good. Wish he was able to sustain it for the full season once other teams started keying in on him.
This is a loss (despite his struggles in ACC play) as the offense is tailored to skilled perimeter players. I would have expected an improvement in shot selection and decision making in year 2. Guarding the 4 hid his defensive deficiencies (perimeter D) this year. That is where he will need to get better to have any shot at the next level.
The first half of the season he was playing well and we were 4th in the ACC and most likely in the NCAA tournament. The second half of the season he was playing poorly and we went on a gigantic losing streak and were not going to make the NIT.
It seems from most of the comments above, some fans think we are better now without him when we owe most of the success of the first half of the season to Landers playing well. I do think we will be a better team next year, but we would be even better with him on the team. Also, pretty sure the loss of Landers now places us in first place for shortest team in NCAA.
I agree with this. We did poorly when Nolley did poorly. I don't think he was a great team player but the guy has lots of talent. I'm not crazy about losing a 4* guy. Only Radford and Cone seemed to improve as the year went on-- Radford adding the missing ability to drive to the basket (at least going left) and Cone making shots.
The fancy stats all indicate that we aren't losing much (Nolley's win share in conference play was the same as Brandon Johnson woof) but losing talent is a bummer. We need CMY to recruit a big to replace him.
This is befuddling to me to say the least. First of all, he is the most talented player on a team that will only get better. He is giving up a year of eligibility to get away from that? It is puzzling.
Second, he says he wants to be a wing. I think that's exactly what Mike Young wants him to be too once he gets more guys in the program that can penetrate and more big guys who can post up. With Horne and Ojiako returning and Aluma getting added the fold, he wouldn't have to worry about posting up a whole lot anymore, and there will be plenty of guards to penetrate next year.
Third, his dad expected him to go pro. While we can all agree he isn't ready to go pro, to go from his dad saying that to giving up a year of eligibility to stay in college is wild.
This is a loss for us. While he sort of fell off a cliff after the UNC game, his potential is obvious. At the beginning of the season, he didn't try to do too much. The ball movement on offense was exceptional. He hit open shots. Later in the year, he stopped ball movement to isolate, he missed open shots, and regularly turned the ball over. I didn't see a transfer coming and was hoping he could return to his old form for next year.
There was always a weird cloud surrounding Nolley, starting with the NCAA questioning his SAT scores. How often does that happen? It can't be too common they make a student take the test over again to prove he did it the first time. And then he bombs the re-take and gets ruled ineligible. Was the NCAA now justified in its claim on the first test? And how about the SAT "fixer" who was seen sitting behind Buzz and in the locker room after a game or two? (I wish I could remember that guy's name). What part, if any, did Buzz have to play in all that? The whole thing smelled funny.
So Nolley sits out his year and finally comes to play. And for the first half of the season, he leads us to some big wins and looks like an NBA player. And then his play went south like the stock market on coronavirus news. Just like that. Suddenly, he can't make a shot to save his life, the cloud around him darkens, and this NBA player looks like he's struggling just to justify that Div 1 scholarship.
If anyone remembers his story 10 years from now, it will truly be a strange one.
Lots of gymnasts and contortionists in here I see. Look forward to seeing many of you perform your floor routines at Tokyo this summer.
Don't even bother. This is not a good thing. We are not better off. This is a setback. This is a loss. You can overcome losses with lots of hard work but its still a loss.
This...
It will be difficult to replace his experience, more than his production.
He's been through a full ACC season, Aluma has not, Bamisile has not, Maddox has not, [insert next Hokie recruit/transfer] has not.
15.5 ppg should be replaceable. Counting Horne and Ojiako, if you include Nolley as a post player, we got 25.3 ppg from down low. I expect Aluma, Ojiako, and Horne to be able to get at least 20, if Horne stays consistent, Ojiako improves, and Aluma gets close to his ~7 ppg. Add in the new wing players and we should get 5 points from them.
Rebounding will definitely not be missed, as I assume Aluma and Ojiako will be able to get more rebounds per game than they did this year + what Nolley had.
But what about the Nolley train?
All future Nolley Trolley stops have been canceled due to COVID-19
Well, he did play great in 19, 20 was, um, a rough year.
Look, i'll admit, I was on the bandwagon after Clemson and Mich St, but we couldn't build on it. His dad mentioned being in the NBA next year, and he bought into his own hype.
Mirror that with NAW last year. Everyone knew he was not coming back after the season. But he kept grinding, and earned his draft status, with a serious team player mentality.
Not everyone can share the same character or drive. I feel for the kid, and I hope he finds his footing.
He'll have to sit unless he can get some saa sort of waiver. And I heard he only have 2 years left.
It just seemed like he regressed the second half of the year.
He was fading away on his shot (hitting the front of the rim). His footwork seemed slow. His demeanor was just flat.
Also, as the season progressed, you could hear in CMY's press conferences less and less confidence in his play. (Coach Young never trashed him, he just quit defending him as much.)
Interesting to watch the rest of the team continue to grow/improve. They seemed bought in and never quit.
Based on the "risk" the player is taking (possibly losing a year) and the team losing such a talent, can't help but think there's more to the story than we know. Sure wonder if this might have been a mutual decision.
If he does decide to transfer, I expect the minutes breakdown to go like this
5: Aluma 25, Ojiako 15
4: Horne 30, Ojiako 10
3: Wilkins 15, Cattoor 15, Radford 10
2: Radford 15, Alleyne 15, Bamisile 10, Kabongo 5
1: Bede 25, Cone 10, Maddox 5
I think you'll get to re-do this two or 3 more times
I assume so.
That's just for first looks.
I dunno man, watching Wofford's games from last year (18-19), Aluma looks like no more of a '5' than Nolley, except he's 2" taller. Our best hope is that Ojiako is ready for 25-30 minutes at the 5 and that Aluma & Horne cover the '4' + backup '5' minutes between them.
So we're playing two guys at the 2 spot for five minutes a game? Bold strategy. /s
Also, I have to believe that Cone will get more than 10 minutes and Radford will get more than 25. Radford was our best player for the last two months and if he develops any kind of shot, he will be next year too
5: Ojiako 25, Horne 15
4: Aluma 30, Horne 10
3:
Nolley 30, Radford 25, Cattoor 10, Wilkins/Maddox 52: Alleyne 20, Cone 15, Cattoor/Maddox/Basimile 5
1: Bede 25, Basimile/Kabongo 10, Cone 5
possible RS: Basimile, Maddox, Wilkins, Alleyne, Cattoor
1. Bede 25
2. Basimile: RS-15
3. Kabongo: 0-10
4. Cone: 20
5. Alleyne: 20
6. Cattoor: 10-20
7. Radford: 25
8. Wilkins: RS-1o
9. Maddox: RS-10
10. Horne: 15-25
11. Aluma: 25-30
12. Ojiako: 25
13. TBD
I think we end up with an 8 or 9 player rotation again (we had 9 players average 10 minutes or more), but who exactly those 9 are will be something of a mystery until fall camp is over. We are losing one key contributor (Nolley) and adding 3 potential contributors in Aluma (likely to play a ton of minutes, probably close to 30) and the FR Basimile and Maddox.
Ball stopper. Melo type game.
...and James Harden
Not the best comparison. Harden's game is all about getting to the FT line (the most efficient play in basketball by a large margin). Nolley rarely got to the FT line this season (or even tried for that matter).
Most of Nolley's points in ACC play were from the FT line.
That is just not true... He shot 2 or fewer free throws in 10 ACC games. He averaged fewer than 4 FT per game. He hit 54 FT in ACC play, out of 269 points. So like 20%.
EDIT: Didn't include the first Duke game, or the Clemson game. My bad. Doesn't really change anything though. 4 FT against Clemson (2 made of his 30 points) and 2 against Duke (1 of 7 points). No FT against UNC in the tourney (also not counted in the original math).
It's not that hard to do a quick google of his stats before disagreeing with me. He only had seven (five in ACC play) games where he got to the line at least 6 times, and we were 5-2 in those games.
For how high his usage rate was, and the style of isolation ball that he likes to play, he should have gotten to line much more than that. It's one of the reasons he was one of the least efficient players in the country last year (that had significant minutes).
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/landers-nolleyii-1/gamelog/...
Eh, I think those 5 games where he got to line at least 6 times must have all been home games. I just remember him shooting a bunch of FT in person. I remember quite a few stat lines that said 16 points but only 2-3 shots from the floor.
After the UNC game his whole body language changed. It was like he didn't want to be on the court. Stupid turnovers from lack of effort or careless ball control. It just wasn't the same. I felt all along that somebody was in his ear (probably his Dad) saying just hang in there. Well, good luck. I hope it doesn't blow up. In the end, it's addition by subtraction and the numbers after the UNC game prove it.
People in the know say this was decided a month and a half ago. Leading candidates to land him right now are NC State and Georgia.
We killed Nc State WTF?
He ain't going to NC State.
Isn't there a two year sit out for transfers in conference. That would leave Nolley with 0 years of eligibility at NC State.
the 2-year rule hasn't been in place since the transfer portal was created
Thanks, was not aware of that.
I agree with many of the above thoughts that he sorta checked out once we started losing..I mean he was in a tear the first half of the season then once we started losing he was chucking up some serious garbage shots and not making a whole lot of effort to get the rim and take contact to get to the line. I really thought he was gonna be a savior with this changeover to CMY but man oh man was I wrong. That said I still believe CMY is in an upward trajectory and the guys coming in/coming of redshirt are gonna make us a 18-22 win team next year...
PS: in radford we trust...Go Hokies!!!👊🏻👊🏻
Classic.
Idk what to think. Maybe this is a best for everyone scenario. Or maybe its another talented kid leaving our program because the grass is always greener somewhere else. Serious question: KBJ had a decent season at UF, but do those who follow the draft feel like his stock improved significantly?
No. Blackshear didn't improve his stock from what I've seen. He's still a borderline drafted to undrafted player. That's not really surprising given his age. The way scouting works, they see his age and know there's not likely going to be any dramatic leaps in his ability when it comes to the what they call the development curve. You usually see big jumps in younger players, but once they enter that 21 to 23 year range, it drops off. A guy isn't likely to go from "Can make a roster" talent to "Can be an NBA starter to all star" talent.
My impression as well. My hope is that people will start to realize that jumping around for the purposes of exposure isn't really going to be that beneficial, and we'll see this whole transfer business settle down a little bit. Generally Im supportive of the portal, there should be an easy way for people to seek better opportunities in life. That's just fair, even if it hurts from a fan perspective. I just think the number of cases where it actually helps someone a lot are limited, and hopefully kids will wise up to that and coaches will be able to steer them in the right direction.
Blackshear is not an NBA player. In the modern NBA, someone 6'08-6'09 has to be able to shoot the 3 or have a niche like a draymond green. Blackshear is neither.
30.8% on 200+ shots from 3 pt range would indicate he can shoot the 3. That's right where Giannis is. That's about in the top 3rd of players (top 150 of 450 players on a roster at any given moment)
73.1% from the line on 600+ shots is better than Lebron and would be in the top 100 of players.
He can fill a niche.
30% is in fact below average so unless he has a skill set that matches Giannis (he clearly does not). 30% does not get you a spot on NBA roster.
The NBA is a different animal, not to mention the 3 point shot is actually longer. The main factor is that he won't get that many opportunities if he can't run the floor. Giannis is a generational talent that can run the floor, get his own shot off the dribble, etc. Not a good comparison.
KBJ would have been a first-round pick 20 years ago, not in today's NBA.
He's going to be a beast in Europe if he chooses to go down that route (like his dad)
Is this suggesting Jalen is leaving?
That kid's upside is super high. We can build a team around his play.
I think you misread the screenshot. Different Jalen.
I too believe Jalen Cone's future is very bright at VT, particularly with his elite 3 point shooting in CMY's system.
I still think Jalen will end up being a superstar once he settles down and gets a flow going. He played pretty lights out for a high school senior in the ACC this year.
Big takeaway from that screenshot: "Sitting one"
Can we replace a Nolley with second Jalen? Or is this just opening up room for more freshmen next year.
Big takeaway from that screenshot: "Sitting one"
"Sitting One" really caught my eye.....twice
If his goal is the NBA, can someone please explain why this move makes sense? From my perspective, playing at VT next year and then going to the NBA is a better route than sitting out next year, play a year and then go to the NBA. Most of the time when athletes transfer I can at least see some logic even if I don't agree with it (Josh Jackson comes to mind), but this one has me stumped.
Makes you think it has nothing to do with him wanting to play wing doesn't it?
So is he just in the portal or is 100% done at VT & figuring out the next steps?
Landers announced he's transferring to Memphis
That should be interesting
He knows Fuente is in Blacksburg, right? /s
Kinda feel bad for the dude, gotta sit out for the second time in three years
They are talking about a blanket waive for trades this year for all players.
Well, his dad did say he was going pro. So he's going to the Griz? /s
Probably getting paid more than the rookie minimum.
Leg to anyone who can name another Hokie athlete whose very first game with VT was arguably his best.
Josh Jackson vs. WVU?
Oh that's a good one! I can't even think off the top of my head what game would be his second best.
ECU that same year. JJ came out hot.
Yeah but ECU
ECU's defense was garbage that year though. 130 out 130 teams... https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/east-carolina/2017-schedule....
If you ignore the W&M tune-up, Michael Brewer's first Tech game was at Ohio State in 2014.
Yes, and by the eye test and his own words, Brewer got pounded in that game and wasn't physically right most of the rest of the season after that.
Loved Brewer but he was a top 3 confounding qb of all time at Tech. Took sacks he had no business taking and would lose an extra 10 yards running backwards, but then would turn around and throw an absolute dime. It was an exhilarating ride.
In my opinion Brewer is not close to top 3 most confounding VT QBs in recent memory. My top 5 without a ton of thought would be:
Marcus Vick
Logan Thomas
Sean Glennon
Ryan Willis
Josh Jackson
Brewer was completely beat up after each OSU game (2nd obvious; 1st not so obvious). He played very injured almost the entire time he was at VT. I'm grateful for the win over OSU, but I would have loved to see a relatively healthy Brewer.
Not remotely as dinged up, he would be above at least three names on that list.
Even dinged up, he's above at least 1 or 2 on that list.
most confounding is not a good list to be on..
No it isn't a good list.
But many fans confuse playing very injured with belonging on the confounding list.
Isaiah Wilkins going for 21 points against Gardner Webb
Isaiah Wilkins...I'm drinking. Didn't look far enough down.
Best of luck to him
Lol, I only just heard about this. RIP our team. Good luck in the draft, get that money boi
you should catch up a bit... 2019 lineup will RIP but 2020 looking like a step up with the roster turnover that's happening, even with the loss of Nolley.
Nolley -> Memphis
Wilkins -> Wake Forest
TBD -> ???
N'Guessan (6'8" PF FR) HS -> VT
Diarra (6'4" PG gTransfer) KSU -> VT
Pemsl (6'9" PF gTransfer) Iowa -> VT
N'Guessan bumps our 2020 class to #21 in the country per 247 (#5 in the ACC)
Diarra is an explosive athlete like Chris Clarke with better handles & a pretty good outside shot. If nothing else he adds the drive & finish element our 2019 roster was missing.
Pemsl is a big guy who knows how to play at the P5 level and will at a minimum give us some playable depth in the front court. Plus we're adding Aluma off of his transfer season, giving us a lot more legit size at the 4/5.
Huh, thanks for the catchup. UnRIP our team.
Aluma is coming off his redshirt year as well. 6'9" forward who followed Young to Blacksburg.
Great kid too. Great sense of humor, very nice when I talked with him a bit in Maui. Excited to see him ball.
Great family. Got to see him play several times in high school, and girlfriend worked with his dad for a bit.
Wait what.
Seriously- "these last past years"...??
Edit: Will always upvote Psych GIF.
He was at VT for 2 years even though he only played one. He stuck it out with VT through and after the clearinghouse issues.
Usually the giveaway of a joke is it's funny...
Deleted now, what was it?
He's announced he's going to enter the draft
i think he changed his mind already. pretty sure i saw on twitter that he plans on staying at memphis.
I hope so, for his sake. I wish him nothing but success, but one thing this past season showed us is that he is without a doubt, not NBA ready
I think Penny changed his mind for him, i.e. no scholly if no guarantee of transfer.
