Discuss and share any Virginia Tech related recruiting topics from April 2020 that don't warrant their own thread
This recruiting thread is used to share information regarding VT-specific targets, including PWOs, scholarship offers, visits, camps, and general news pertaining to those targets.
The other monthly Recruiting Discourse Thread is for higher-level discussion of VT recruiting trends and broader conversation regarding the overall college football recruiting landscape and other schools' classes and commits.

Comments
Figured the other thread had some very slow load times, almost 400 comments, and we're expecting some news today, so it made sense to start part 2
Here are the 247 embeds from some of our targets (not exhaustive, and no particular order):
I greatly appreciate the list, Thanks!
I figured it would be useful.
also, before anyone embeds a 247, please CTRL+F to make sure it hasn't been posted yet
Choate? We're recruiting Choate.
And Dingle.
We are?

Thank you!
Always a good day when you get a commit but I'd like to get another 4*, as that seems to provide a palpable momentum boost in recruiting circles.
FIFY.
I understand the hype around 4-5 star guys but I still want the Kyle Fullers, Tremaine Edmunds and Kam Chancellors of the world to come of VT.
I figured it goes without saying that everyone wants the 3* players that turn into stars and hope that the 4* players aren't busts. It's extremely likely the majority of our classes will continue to be 3*s so development will be of paramount importance.
I'm thinking about perception and capitalizing on recruiting momentum in instances where we are in on certain players early. For example, a commitment from Brown completely changes the perception of our recruiting in VA.
This first paragraph is on point.
Any speculation there might be more than 1 committing?
If it's not Brown or Leigh, it better be more than one if people are making this much noise about it.
I would also be pretty pumped if it was just McCutchin but I really doubt that is happening.
What about Gilliam?
Tech is signing a lot of DE's at the moment. I think they get one of Gilliam and Naquan Brown, but no way both.
It's just gonna be so hard to sell playing time to a guy when you're signing 6 other 3-4 star DE's. Brown has said over and over again he wants to play early, and I don't think he's the only DE signee that Tech would want to take a look at at OLB.
If he doesn't play early here, i can't see him getting early PT at LSU or at PSU, but who knows.
What coaches tell him and what actually ends up happening are unfortunately very different things.
In my opinion no way Naquan plays DE in college more likely OLB, and if we're transitioning to a defense with more size that would make a lot of sense
I agree Brown looks more like an OLB in college
Right just not enough weight and seems like a hardgainer. However, I don't think that's a negative because he could be a freak at OLB and I'm sure he'll get to edge rush still from that spot.
May look it, but I don't want him playing OLB running a 5.2 forty.
Are we talking about the same Brown? That's slower than elite OL...
Edit: ooooof... maybe he slipped or wasn't prepared.

247 lists Naquan Brown as 6'1" and he weighed 197lbs as recently as January....with a 5.18 forty.
Is this right for the 7th rated DE in the country?
Something seems off to me.
He doesn't look like he runs a 5.18 in his highlights:
per multiple people he is a much better athlete than that 40 time.
Rivals has him at 6'3" and 200lbs. Both ESPN and Rivals have him at OLB.

something doesn't add up between that 40 time (5.18 sec) and that shuttle time (4.35 sec)
his shuttle time is really good, and in the top20 range for linebackers (top 5 for DL) at the 2020 the NFL Combine. Those Linebackers running in the 4.3's for the shuttle were putting down 40's around 4.7 seconds.
Maybe he has poor top-end speed but I think it's more likely he didn't have a good 40 session that day. 4.35 in the shuttle shows a lot of burst and agility
Still smaller than our smallest DEs of the past two decades. Dado Nicholas is 6'-3" 220 with a 4.7s 40 yard dash and Corey Moore was 6' 215ish but with a 4.38s 40 yard dash. First, Browns 40 has to be off and second, was Corey Moore actually that fast?
Also, Tim Settle ran a 5.2 40 at 320 pounds.
It does say "Verified"...Unless Naquon ran the forty while wearing workboots...
For what it's worth, he told me Tech is recruiting him as a DE.
Brown has picked up an offer from NC State
Lead recruiter .... Charley Wiles
So they can convert him to DT?/s
damn, this is an impressive list. Our recruiting has certainly taken a turn for the better! Great job to our staff - this should give all of our fans a warm and fuzzy feeling about the state of the program.
Who is the other person in the graphic (in the IMG uniform)?
That's his IMG uniform. Same guy.
OK, that makes sense. I was wondering why there was no @ in the post or comments to someone else. I was just confused cause this same graphic was used with Tristan and Naquan together
Thanks - Any chance a mod could lock the Pt.1 and point people here?
I locked it up.
should we make this be standard procedure for the future when we move to "pt 2" of vt recruiting thread?
yep. Approved
No, you lock it up!
CMY hauling in another one
He was already committed, right? So he's just locked in now.
Yessir, he's been committed for a few weekends, he's just official now.
So is this happening or what? Any idea when we should expect this news to fall?
5pm is what I saw on the twitters earlier
if referring to Wooten's tweet below, it's probably a picture of him bald and not recruiting news.
By 5pm i will be on my 5th or 6th woodford.
Quarantine brings out the best and worst in people. Not sure what this is, but here we are.
Justus Reed DE from Youngstown St to VT just posted on Twitter
Really signing all the defensive ends we can get...
Is this the 5pm news? If so I do appreciate his excitement to be a Hokie and announcing 30min early. Good pick up just what we needed to end the week.
Orrrrr is there more?
Remember when DL was a question mark?...man feels so long ago.
Does he play end or inside if hes 6'3" and 270lbs
Yes.
But in all seriousness, there were rumblings about going bigger on the DE. 270 fits that bill.
He doesn't quite look 270 to me. And he definitely doesn't look like an inside guy to me either.
Is this the news...?? Don't get me wrong I'm excited and this is a solid pickup that will contribute immediately but there was a TON of buildup for it to just be a grad transfer
Perhaps the best one on defense in the nation though and at a position of need. We weren't the only ones after him
Edit: it may not be all, but idk one way or the other 🤷♂️
12 sacks last season in 12 games, has great size and strength, extremely mature player (2020 will be his 7th season).. huge pickup
He sure looks mature...check out his pic. He could be 40 years old. I think he had 16 years of eligibility. I am not complaining.
Are you kidding? When was the last time VT had a real live playmaker at DE? He likely would have been a difference maker against, say, UVa this past season.
This is a really big pickup.
Definitely didn't think we were going to get him. Great pickup from the staff.
Awesome, immediate help at a much needed pass rush. This is huge, we will be much better with a fast pash rusher
247 embed is above in the first comment
Needs to hurry up
It's looking like the boat is going to start filling up rather quickly, yes? Really starting to think this class could be top 15.
Wouldn't bank on top 15
How many defensive backs are we expecting to take?
5-6 I bet
Does that line up in a normal way numbers wise, or is that a "we expect to lose Farley, Waller, and maybe Conner, in addition to Deablo, Tyree, and Webb" kind of way.
I'm thinking you're on to the future look of the secondary for our hokies.
With Farley's draft chatter this year, I can't imagine he'd stick around for the 2021 season if he is healthy and performs like we know he can in 2020
Right. The word on Farley is he is 100% gone after this season barring new developments. The part of the question that I'm most interested in relates to Waller and Conner. Taking that many DB's could suggest more NFL jumps and Waller and Conner are the most likely based on talent and on field play so far imo. Could also suggest potential transfers but idk any news on that.
Edit: Waller originally autocorrected to WALKER. I didn't want anyone to get confused and think I had JR Walker pegged on the way out. I know nothing about him.
I don't want to read too much into the situation, but with a new defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach, it might stand to reason they are looking for fresh blood that better fits the scheme.
Which begs the question: Just how different is Hamilton's scheme going to be?
We do know that he's getting bigger on the defensive line. What does that mean for how the position is played, and how does that impact what he's looking for in the other two levels of the defense? And how would *that* impact how the LBs/DBs are deployed? Is there anything
that we can infer from his other stops (UVA-W, VMI, as well as CLE and WAS) about how he might--I don't want to say "deviate", but yeah, deviate--from Foster's system that he grew up in?
Looking at past articles, I see that you said this when he was announced as DC:
Do we know any more now than we did then?
(P.S. The initial questions weren't directed at you specifically, but at the TKP community. In looking back, though, it may have seemed that way after I added the quote. Not trying to call you out or anything, Joe. Just stream of consciousness questions about something that we likely have no additional insight into.)
Edit: Upon further reflection, this probably should be in the Recruiting Discussion thread. I'll post it there.
As he should
Fyi Farley made an ESPN+ list of top-10 returning corners in 2021. He'd been getting a lot of PFF and niche analysis love but it's nice to see a more popular mainstream outlet show some love too
Hope we have a season and I hope he balls out and goes early
He's also #50 on The Draft Network's 2021 big board. As long as he doesn't take a huge step back this season, he's gone (rightfully so)
Just to add some perspective, VT has never had a top 15 class in modern recruiting history. It's much closer to monumental accomplishment than foregone conclusion.
No but we've consistently been top 30 and our goal should be 20-25
It's pretty consistently been 20-30. The goal should be upper teens. It's a big leap from 20 to top 15 unfortunately.
But have we in ancient recruiting history? Was Hunter Carpenter the guy that got us a Top 15 class back in the day? ;^)
I know you're kidding, but there's many who believe that our recruiting classes from 2002-2006 should have been top 15 classes. The idea being that a lot of those guys were 'diamonds in the rough' not guys who came to school and got 'coached up.'
Now, if you'd meant a lot of those guys were great players that were just overlooked, I'll give that to you.
👀
I really wish that account would go away.
And on a similar note, let's do a better job not sharing what's essentially noise from Twitter meme accounts.
Sorry guys, I might have been a little....fuzzy headed when I posted that and only realized afterwards that it was a meme account. I laughed really hard either way
2 crystal balls in for the Hokies
Edit: up to 4. Its looking real good for the Hokies. A commit would move us up to 19th in the country
As a .90 4* Riley would be our highest rated CB commit since a guy named Kendall Fuller.
Given that he tagged Wiltfong and Hoffman in his "I know where I'm going" tweet and then they put Crystal Balls for VT... it seems extremely promising that he'll be committing soon.
Make it 8...
Philip Riley got 6 crystal ball predictions on Saturday 4/18, all of them for the good guys! So he's now at 100% for us.
The pessimist in me says we're screwed
DBU can use some 4* DB recruits.....OSU and LSU are taking our crown....if they haven't already.....
Took it long ago. We have some great tradition, but it's nothing like the top end talent those guys have been putting into the league
I know I'm biased but the crown shouldn't go to who puts the most in the L but who puts the better players in the L (better careers)...hell Bama puts just as many as OSU but most of them are just good enough to hang around....when VT puts someone in the L they usually outperform their draft position....I believe if we can start consistently getting 4* DBs we will easily take our crown back....
anOSU has a pretty unassailable recent track record of DBs taken in the first 4 rounds, and they're about to have another top-5 pick come Thursday as well.
Florida had part of the claim as well for awhile, but LSU and OSU have been supreme for the past decade.
Sam Rogers wants a word about one of those first round picks
Either way it's not even close. We have had a few guys have some nice careers, but those two are DB factories. We have a claim for best of the rest DBUs but no way are we the top spot.
Someone (not me cause I'm not a math guy) needs to come up with a formula that takes into account recruiting rating, draft position, and NFL careers. I'm a biased Tech fan but it's obviously more impressive and more true to the "University" label to coach up lower rates recruits.
e: The number of players drafted should also be part of that formula
Thank You bcschewe......and OSU has Lattimore and a bunch of average DBs....we have Kyle and two young average DBs....only Kendall was a 5* and was Kyle or Edmonds even a 4*? LSU, OSU and UF all are stocked with 4* and better kids. Seems like an easier task to me....
DBU ranking
Came out about two weeks ago, SI did all positions if you want to do some reading
Not crazy about their scoring system, but any rating system will always be subjective
Maybe so, but anyone who isn't a VT fan (even if they're not a fan of another school in contention) would scoff at the idea of VT being DBU because we don't have recognizable/household names currently playing. In the previous decade, there's an argument to be made, but in the last 10 years, we have Stroman, Terrell, the Fullers, Chuck Clark, Exum, Hosley, Roc Carmichael, and Kam. Not enough star power.
If you look at the SI article below, we actually did pretty well considering the other schools on the list are mostly big time programs.
Edit: forgot Terrell
Terrell Edmunds also and Brandon Flowers just got out of the league, Brandon Facyson is still playing, Kyshoen Jarrett was having an awesome career until it was cut short.
If we're roll-calling this, might as well add Adonis Alexander. He was a Redskin (supplemental draft).
Doesn't help the lack of star power, but...
Adonis Alexander signed a reserves/futures contract with the Rams so he may not be quite out of the league yet? (But without voluntary mini-camps, training camps, or preseason - but still having a draft, that might not be long.)
Terrell is still on the Steelers roster, no?
Discourse thread pls
I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that he was committing on April 22nd
New name to add to the list:
Chapin (SC) OL Thornton Gentry (6-4, 280 pounds) 3* 0.8405 24/7 Composite
Offers: App State, NC State, Virginia Tech, FIU, Kansas State, Syracuse, Missouri, South Florida and East Carolina. Approaching 20 overall offers. His father was a OL at App State. Really, really like his tape.
That's a strong name.
Whoa. Deja vu.
Hahahhahaha ok, didn't see it posted a week or so ago. Still think this is a really good prospect.
Not as strong as his neck tho
I would put Kansas State, App State, Virginia Tech, USF, UCF, and NC State in the "Warm" category for Gentry as they are recruiting him the hardest. I think NC State is a viable threat.
class of 22, hudl: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11293461/5df5b40a4ba7a50d2cc47ff1
Also reporting offers from UF, PSU, Arkansas, USCe
and it also looks like some people are trying to ruin good things...
With all the specificity in his teases, I don't know what we would do without it \s
*posts vague "it's gonna be good" gif*
Still not 100% sure that's the real BAG
"the real BAG" lol the internet is a weird place.
Me either honestly. Most "teasers" from this account seem to come after buzz has been generated other places.
Agree, and as such, let's not share them here anymore. General message to everyone in the thread.
are we suggesting to not share that individual's twitter feed anymore or others in general?
I was speaking about that account specifically, but same guidelines apply to any others.
Might want to elaborate. It makes it sound like we shouldn't share any twitter posts. That would remove recruiting tweets and a lot of other pertinent ones.
IMO, tweets from the coaches or players are good. Try to limit anything else.
Bingo, dont think we need to ban the twitterverse but seeing the hold on itll be worth it gif every 2 days can be a bit of a repeat. I personally like being able to check here are see some of the tweets from coaches etc without needing to pull up the app as well.
Oh I completely agree. Joe said "any more". I just asked for clarification.
Glad to be on the same page. Have a leg
Feel free to share pertinent tweets, from relevant accounts with substantive information. Don't share noise.
So can we get a list of relevant accounts ? /s

Coming soon!!1! These will shock you, you're not ready for it. Can't say any more, but stay tuned.
Maybe that 5* DE that just decommitted from Clemson?
...speaking of noise....
Joe was responding to a post about twitter accounts that just post noise and pretty sure he was being sarcastic about providing a list of twitter accounts that are just noise.
I'm pretty sure he was NOT saying there was any upcoming actual news.
Ah. Just playing along, I guess.
lol i got it.

It was that way before too though
Isn't he the one who takes all the pictures and videos for recruits on their trips?
Sorry mods for starting this subthread as I realize it's better suited for the discourse thread... If you're talking about the person behind the BAG account, I don't know what his connections to the program were 🤷♂️ just that he seemed to have some when he was on TKP
I'm on mobile but 👀

He pushed it back, won't be committing today and likely not anytime soon.
Aaaaand he's gone. /s

15th P5 offer, class of 2022
Any relation to Houshun?
Not that I'm aware of, and definitely not a sibling. House was from Rocky Mount NC and was youngest of five, according to hokiesports bio
For some reason I thought House was from Florida. Nevermind.
You are probably thinking of when he committed to Florida. He thought he had a committable offer, but was somehow "catfished"
3rd P5 offer
Wow...surely we're recruiting him as a RB, right? Sure, gonna be a little wear on those tires, but still.
I thought he went to Georgia about 10 years ago
Was he the one who committed to GA with a live bulldog puppy as his prop?
Lol I'm pretty sure yes
also plays TE
Stutsman is a 5* linebacker name
Good stuff coming our way, from what I heard it's not just 1 player and it may not all happen today though. Loving the recruiting momentum lately
Also side note I won't say who because that's not fair to those players but we would already have 2 more commits but they were told to hold off for now, VT is actually holding people off on commits to try and get better ones, I honestly didn't know if I would ever see that day but I'm loving it. Let's Go Hokies!
I'm sure that will never backfire
Let's swing for the fences man, we've proven we can pick up mid to low 3 stars fairly easily, in fact when we do it's often complained about, I don't see any harm holding some off if you feel you have a legit shot with someone better at their same position. Big schools do it all the time, we just need to keep doing what we're doing, this off-season was a great breath of fresh air for our recruiting
Mid to high 3 stars...thank you very much.
You don't enjoy an entire summer/fall of hearing about silent commits that will announce any day now?
The rumors down here in NC from the recruiting contacts is that there are really good vibes for Jack Hollifield
edit: This was a little unclear, but word is in state schools are no longer actively recruiting him.
Dee's tweet is deleted now apparently
He seems to do that a lot
Anyone have a timeframe?
/s
Class of 2023. Also has P5 offers from Iowa and Kansas
Went up against Dee Davis in the state title game, due to the starter tearing his ACL.
So no commitment yesterday? Guess we got dooped
People were inferring that Riley was going to commit based on a tweet. He never committed to the coaches or told them he was committing though. His mother wants him to wait to commit until he/she can see the campuses.
Has Riley done an OV or any visit to Tech yet? I find it humorous the mother says he can't commit until SHE sees the campuses. Like she's going to be shelling out money for him to go to school or something. If he hasn't taken a visit or even completed all of his visits I can see her saying pump the brakes until YOU the student/player go there.
he has not, he hasn't taken any visits. you may find this hard to believe, but a lot of kids trust and listen to their parents' opinions and advice.
I don't know why I would find that hard to believe....I guess trying to be a knock on me? There's a difference between the parents lending advice and opinions, and the parents making the decision for you. He can't commit until SHE sees the campus. How about "We want to take all our visits before Philip makes a decision." Big difference in the word track and what they mean.
Right, so there is a difference in those words. I'm sorry. I used the wrong one. I don't know his mom or him. I could written it another way. I'm sure she is looking out for the best interests of her son, even if that contradicts when fans want players to commit.
Unless you've seen a tweet from him or his mom saying that, you're going off a second-hand (at best) description of what's going on that may not convey the motives of his mom. Maybe he's close with his mom and wants to go on OVs with her (or at least uOVs).
So just because you don't feel that way, you can't understand how other people might?
I don't think that is weird at all. As a parent, there is no way in hell that I would let one of my children attend any university (whether I pay for it or not) without taking a look at the campus and making sure that we are all comfortable with the place. This is good parenting and I respect it. Let's not read anything more into it than that.
Look I am not saying he should commit until he sees the campus of whatever school he chooses. My point was the Mom is saying SHE not WE need to see it. This isn't the only place I've seen that report.
Just for fun since I am bored at work......So if you visit a campus your child loves it gives you logical reasoning to why they want an education there and sports if that's an option, but you don't like it for your reasoning , they can't go there? Seems a bit outside of good parenting. My parents hated UT for my sister, but they didn't say "Hell no" Are you going to go to job interviews with your kids too?
Decided to remove my answer as it has nothing to do with recruiting.
guys, this obviously belongs in the Dissecting Parenthood, a Recruiting Story thread /s
Obviously YOU don't know AA moms. My son definitely couldn't commit out of state if I haven't seen the campus or surrounding areas. And I'm a dad. It's a different dynamic with AAs....
Not to get into a big debate about it but I think thats all Mom's haha. I think my mom would have had a cow if I'd tried to go somewhere sight unseen. And the important thing to remember in recruiting is that ain't nobody happy unless Mama is happy.
you need to please edit and clarify because I have no idea if you're grossly assuming and oversimplifying someone else's culture, or if you're trying to better explain your own.
Gobble if you are referring to me it is a little different for minorities in this country. Our cultures are different and we do need to take more safeguards than the majority with our children.....
I'm not disagreeing, but from your comment it's not obvious that you're speaking from your experience from within that culture.
Not sure why alcoholic anonymous moms would take any more interest in what school their kid goes to...
s/
My children are not allowed to go to UVA. Call me a bad parent if you want.
I would not recommend any student athlete commit prior to seeing the campus.
Her son likely has spent his entire life living under her roof. It's certainly not unreasonable for her to want to see where he will be living for the first time away from her. He will always be her son and I don't blame her one bit for looking out for him.
The tweet from DD that hinted at something got deleted yesterday as well, and it wasn't from whoever was going to announce, so not sure if it was a communication thing, a timing thing, but don't think we were "duped."
Ranked 89 3 star by 247, PRO QB from Texas

What's his story about getting out of his NLi?
I'd venture a guess it had to do with Ruhle leaving Baylor and not taking to the new staff. Hard to say though.

Motion to add this to the top of every recruiting forum
I wonder if this guidance is counter productive in that it prevents the reasonable people from tweeting and the crazies get to be the only voice
I think your statement may be mutually exclusive.
Reasonable people do not believe that Tweeting (usually endlessly recycled GIFs) at a 17 or 18 year-old is likely to lead them to commit to their school of choice.
Looks like it's not just some Twitter replies to his announcement. There's some smoke on his end now too.
This would put a slightly different spin on the 2020 class. He'd be the highest rated recruit in the class. His composite score is weighed down by some old ESPN and Rivals evals. 247 has him as the #9 2020 corner.
If he committed to VT that would bump the 2020 class up to 63rd nationally at 171.35, between Duke (62nd at 171.72) and Boston College (currently 63rd at 170.36).
Right in between our two biggest conference rivals!
*cries*
This is a pretty exciting development, especially considering that this would help balance the size a little better for this class as well and we would have a new highly rated recruit for this coming season (assuming there's a season).
Sort of poetic if we get a former Baylor commit
Our new guys really out here cruitin

That's right. Take it to the Disco (thread)
Unranked, and per 247 we appear to be the first P5 offer. Nice highlight reel though. Plays baseball as well
I think he hit 3 HRs on Opening Day once for the Orioles.

Off topic: how y'all holding up Disney?
Doing well, getting some projects done around the house. Officially furloughed as of last Sunday but otherwise we are good. This is just my opinion, but I think we will start to open around Memorial Day.🤞
Let me know if you need help with anything. Hopefully your in the group of Disney employees they are filing with the state for.
Thank you, I appreciate that. And I am, but none of us have heard anything from the state yet. Hopefully I'll hear something this week.
I had an insightful conversation with Kelvin Gilliam this evening. He laid out his timeline and what schools are recruiting him the hardest, and the how of it all. I will share some notes after I write them up.
Thanks for your work Joe. Kelvin in my opinion is the most important recruit in this class. He is an elite D-Lineman that can play outside or inside and has build to play early. Also being a Springer and having his head coach and DHop as his DL coach, we need to start pulling more of the top tier guys from Highland Springs.
What's news on Damond Harmon? Are we in the running for him? He's underrated by recruiting services IMO. Very technically sound, good instincts with length.
I wrote up my notes and quotes yesterday and posted them in TDKPC forum.
we're his first P5 offer

Benedictine kid, is only a sophomore but getting lots of interest.
Class of 2023, 8th P5 offer
Not sure if this warrants another thread. Our new DB coach started recruiting him recently. Not sure he ever got the offer.

Twins. That would be awesome. Can we call them the BeeGees?
I feel like we would be legally obligated to do so.
Embed didn't work on your post for some reason
Good thing there is only 1 more day - load times on this thread are starting to rise like we've stopped social distancing

yeah, we'll cut down a little bit on the tweet embeds -- should probably be restricted to offers/commits/(hopefully not decommits) and actual news as opposed to the
hey look one of the recruits we're after tweeted "everything works together for good 🙏" and one of our commits replied with "🦃"
kind of tweet.
although i do think the list of 247 embeds at the beginning of the thread is a good idea still to cut down on 3+ embeds of the same guy appearing within a thread
Let me know if any of my posts fall under the category (aside from my fake fuente account post, which def bamboozled me at the time. Probably because I was laughing too hard). Just throwing stuff in here that seem interesting or that build momentum because there seems to be some excitement around the program on Twitter, which is nice to see
I've still never experienced load times on any device for some reason.
Not an offer but I wonder if we will offer. This is Latrell Nevill's Cousin, holds an offer from UVA among others
7th P5 offer, 92 rated by 247
embed further up the thread. real legs here i think. he would join the class of 2020
He did get 2 crystal balls to Texas on 4/27 from two Texas insiders. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
well twitter chatter from our players and commits don't mean much without an offer from the program
Weird, I hadn't realized he didn't hold an official offer yet
Has an offer.
Just fyi that tweet is 4 posts up, might want to remove it since we're trying to cut back on the number of embeds for load times.
At this point I'll make a new thread tomorrow so it is what it is. But the irony is rich
Was supposed to be a joke. "Didn't know he had an offer" embed offer that was only two comments up*
it made sense to me. he was released from his NLI, all our TX2VT guys started tweeting at him, he started tweeting turkeys, and he still didn't have an offer at that point. then the offer came and it legitimized some of the buzz that we were after him. it wasn't a terrible assumption that he already had an offer from us, but it didn't actually happen until days later
Bruh. You responded with an embed to the embed you embedded.
for #proof
He just committed to Texas
Crap! Do you think it was because he didn't have an offer from Tech? /s
Love seeing Sergio still recruiting for us
Also looks like he's lost a tone of weight, good for him on that front too!
Diego has lost some Pounds? Does that mean he might lose that 4th star?
Bet you're happy there will be a new recruiting thread tomorrow, ain't ya!
meant big Sergio has lost some lbs
Jahdae Barron to Texas
