I broke my tibia. It healed 100% but was a mild break and nothing like an ACL tear. Good news that he should also heal 100% and will be back next year. Spring practice is still a possibility. He played great today!

Forgot this earlier: X-rays on CB Brandon Facyson's shoulder were negative. Just an AC sprain, trainer Mike Goforth said. #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) December 1, 2013

This sucks because he was having a hell of a game. I think if he didn't get injured we could have scored again, he was really gashing them for big yards

RB position for next year:
Trey Edmunds, JC Coleman, Chris Mangus, Joel Caleb, DJ Reid, Marshawn Williams, and others?
I'm in favor of having a couple of bigger backs wear down the defense, so my fingers are crossed for a 1-2 punch with Edmunds and Shai McKenzie next year.
Also wondering why The Beast formerly known as Sam Rodgers doesn't get touches from the RB position. He has the pass blocking and catching ability out of the backfield to line up in shotgun formations, and, as evident in yesterday's game, the coaches trust his athleticism enough to have him run reverses on kick return and reverse passes.

I would guess because he doesn't quite have the speed element to bust big plays. But who needs speed when the guy can leave a pair of cleat marks in 11 different chests in one play?

Source on the "believed to be serious" part? All I've seen is "out for the rest of the game," nothing beyond that.
He Redshirted last year. I hope he's Alright.
Chris Coleman @ChrisColemanTSL 3m
And bad news is coming on Trey
Not good. This sucks.
He broke his tibia
Damn. Hope he recovers

VT announces Trey Edmunds has broken his tibia, out for the season.
a break is definitely better than a tear. Huge loss tho. Its a 4-5 month recovery
Ouch. This is awful news.
Terrible news but at least he will only miss the bowl game and probably spring practice. Here's to a fast recovery! Godspeed young man!
Yea he should be ready to go for next season. Just hope he has a fast recovery
Wish him a speedy recovery, at least this shouldn't keep him out of next season so he's really only missing one game.
a break is better than most other injuries
Yea, broken bones typically heal stronger where ligaments are always weaker after being torn (I think, I'm no doctor)
You are absolutely correct good sir
Clearly, he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Best of luck in a speedy recovery, Trey.

Thanks for the great great season Trey!
Book-end-ed nicely with the Alabama TD run and the lone touchdown of the game today.
So who starts now? I can't foresee JC carrying the ball more than 10 times per game. I hope Caleb gets healthy and can get some runs in.
sam rogers of course
All Sam Rodgers all the time.
Starting at Sam Rogers today for the Hokies will be Sam Rogers
DID YOU SEE THAT PASS!!!!!! AWESOME!
Looks like it might be Joel Caleb's turn to finally get some carries now.
Tough for Trey, but he was a warrior tonight.
He will be back, maybe for Spring practice.
I think I echo everyone's sentiment when I say, can I get an "oh fuck."
Update on Facyson:
Good news.
This was my next question. Thx
Damn... Get better Trey
This sucks because he was having a hell of a game. I think if he didn't get injured we could have scored again, he was really gashing them for big yards
The RBs looked sharper than any other game this year Trey played great and JC had some sweet runs also
RB position for bowl game:
JC Coleman, CJ Mangus, Joel Caleb
RB position for next year:
Trey Edmunds, JC Coleman, Chris Mangus, Joel Caleb, DJ Reid, Marshawn Williams, and others?
Trey's injury is devastating for the bowl game, but I saw JC make some tough physical runs.

Shai tore his ACL this year. He will almost certainly redshirt wherever he goes (Tech is his favorite right now, he announces on December 20th.)
Hey that's my anniversary. Shai, if you're reading this and you're trying to figure out what to get me........
marshawn Williams will be the guy next yr that should rotate with trey if hes ready by opener
I don't see them dropping JC down that far.
Me neither. He's looked pretty good the past few games.
He looks even better when the staff utilizes him correctly (ie NOT up the middle on 3rd & 1+).
