Well, there were nearly 4.5 million reasons why Keene opted to forgo his senior season with Virginia Tech.
According to https://t.co/83FnOmg2wx, Dalton Keene's rookie contract projected to be worth $4.49 million with $832,292 signing bonus https://t.co/0KpJtR9K5Wβ michaelniziolek (@michaelniziolek) April 25, 2020

Yeah, well I won $100 on a scratch-off yesterday.
Nice win
Good for him.
Well, with Brady gone, I guess I don't have to hate the Pats anymore at least
You have a very good point.
I'm still going to hate them. Bill Belch-a-check (AKA, the cheater) is still there and he is the main reason that the pats are on my least desirable list ... and any Har-de-har-baug team is there with them.
I will cheer for Dalton Keene (and any other VT player) regardless of where they land (even the cowboys, another team on my least desirable list,
Dallas?
I would have been doing cartwheels and back flips if Dallas had picked up Dalton. While the offense has the look to be sweet this season, it would be nice to have a tough replacement for Witten.
This is the only reason they let Gronk go so easily, they knew they would have Dalton Keene available.
Proof Keene > Gronk. Book it.
Glad he got drafted since he left and will have some guaranteed money since it was so high, but sucks he has to work for Satan himself
It seems Bill makes very few mistakes on draft day. They were short at the TE position so they took another TE just before Dalton. Has a great chance to get on the field.
Also love he was taken before Bryce Hall.
Fantastic decision by him to go pro. Happy for him.
I love this for Dalton! Way to Go !
It is really good to see someone have the choice to leave early have it pay off for them in a big way. I am now a Pats Fan
I thought Dalton would be drafted in the 4th....he was drafted in the 3rd...good for Dalton, good for VT
That's right playa....get that New England Money
Sounds like he made a great decision.
I didn't think he'd get drafted this early, but I also didn't think he had too much to gain by coming back.
Wow. As someone who previously expressed doubt he would be taken this high, I will eat that crow. Not only that, but it's pretty telling when the Patriots make a move for a TE.
This can only help our TE recruiting. Thank you.
Andy Bitter tweeted last night that teams had Keane rated as anywhere from a 2nd round grade to undrafted. Going in the 3rd is definitely a success for him. But it's kinda crazy how even with his underutilized stats, he still went this high.
Shoving people across the field isn't captured in stats
It's also difficult to have stats when no one throws you the ball.
He also caught everything thrown his way...including some miraculous plays (UVA 2018) also has some big yac plays on film to go with some great blocking film. He had a very good combine and he comes from a connected family. He is the man gonna miss him in orange and maroon!
Such a versatile guy. TE, slot, H-Back, RB.
Congrats Rambo!
Yep. That's why NE traded up to get him- look for him to do everything for them- Like Devlin and Burkhead
I think he might end up comparing very favorably to a Kyle Juszczyk-type option for Belichick.
Wait a minute
Keene....Rambo
Patriots....Gillette

Nice video highlights.
Didn't DK have like 1 dropped ball his entire career? I think I read that somewhere but can't seem to find it.
Interview with Patriots
Here is his interview after the draft. Last questions are good ones.
