I was joking around. I knew he was very high on Tech. He publicly he said as much during his TKP interview, and I had a couple of other reasons to feel good, but I didn't know it was coming. We had the toddler pool and splash table running outside during the day, and I was enjoying some beers with the neighbors into the night. Anyways, I didn't even know he announced until I got in after 10:00 PM last night. It was a nice blindside.

Wouldn't claim myself as a film expert, but he does several things very well.
He shifts direction very well without losing steps on the WR, he has good route anticipation, and he does a very good job of finding the ball in the air and making the play on the football rather than through the receiver.
There are recruits that have lots of potential and then there are others who appear to already have a solid foundation to build off of, DJ falls into the latter category.
Definitely an important pick-up.

His tape looks great, and he seems more college-ready than most. I don't know anything about California HS football, but LeBron's son and Dwayne Wade's son both play on the Sierra Canyon basketball team (Marvin Bagley III also went there). So DJ starred at a school with bigtime athletics and the brightest lights - that makes me even more optimistic about his transition to the P5.
One of my friends is a huge UCLA fan, he knew all about DJ and that he verbal'ed to VT...he was mostly lamenting what Chip Kelly has done to the Bruin football program but was very disappointed he didn't go to UCLA as he was high on their list (according to him, anyway). I'm even more excited about this prospect now, this dude is a UCLA encyclopedia and knows his football.
