Following the departure of Antwon Jackson to the school about which we no longer speak, Special Assistant Kevin Giltner was promoted to 3rd Assistant.
Giltner joined the Hokies' staff as Special Assistant last year, coming over from Wofford with Coach Young, where he served as assistant for 5 years.

Jackson was a strong recruiter, Giltner will have big shoes to fill!
Agreed. Jackson has a very good track record bringing in recruits. His job change seems weird to me; it doesn't feel like a step up.
GCHokie34 explained it on TSL. Jax was 2nd assistant at VT. Stepping up to 1st assistant at a ECU is like being VP. Big step up in responsibility.
And losing your 2nd isn't a big deal, you expect it. And with Christian Weber (?) a rising star stepping up to #2 and Giltner being considered for #3 a year ago, these moves were expected and planned for by Young.
