The following is from the official release linked below.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior quarterback threw for 2,776 yards and 35 touchdowns this past season on 161-of-238 passing (67.6 percent), leading the Colts (9-2) to a berth in the Class AAAA district playoffs. A returning Class AAAA Third Team All-State selection as named by the Pennsylvania Football News, Ford earned invitations to the Elite 11 quarterback camp and Nike's The Opening this past summer. He completed 225 of 339 attempts for 2,957 yards and 35 touchdowns as a junior last season.
Ford has maintained a 3.80 GPA in the classroom. He has volunteered as a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
"On the football field, he is an incredible athlete," said Chad Weaver, head coach at rival Red Land High. "His numbers don't do it justice, as he is a complete leader. He is able to put the players in the correct positions and makes sure they are running what is going to work best. Off the field, he is a great young man."

This guy is pumped, can't remember the last time I was that excited for anything
aaaaand...BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE.
Awesome I can't wait to see our football program moving Ford.
Yea. We cant a Ford to have this guy on our bench.
I wish we could fast Ford into next season.
Ford into Dawn
Pretty sure that's what Tennyson wrote, right?
I really hope we have an effect shirt with the slogan "Built Ford Tough" in the future, or a TKP shirt if we can get around some rules.
Turkey leg for the idea, but I don't think we could use an actual player on a shirt we're getting money for.
I was going to say we can just put that on there with his jersey number. Then I remembered we aren't the NCAA so we probably wouldn't get away with it and then Ford(the car company) would probably sue us for copyright infringement if we get around the NCAA.
What if we all just buy these shirts?

That shirt looks too red. Needs more maroon.
Make it M&O and I'll buy one
Boom!

Indeed. Most indeededly....
I'm currently sitting on my couch wearing a "Ryan Williams for Heisman" shirt with his name, image, jersey number and nickname on it for which I paid between $10-$15.... What in the name of everything that is good and right in the world ARE the NCAA rules concerning this crap?
I have one of those too! I was wearing it at a party and no other than RMFW pops in the door, sees me and says "I like that shirt!" and daps me up. I felt like a boss.
They had to stop selling them
All I'm hearing is that we have a short window...
We get Ford to sponsor the effect shirt
That's pretty awesome! So I just quickly scanned the list of Gatorade State Players of the Year, and it looks like Andrew Ford is the 9th Player of the Year that has committed to Tech. Here are the ones that I found:
2014 Andrew Ford (PA)
2013 Kendall Fuller (MD)
2009 David Wilson (VA)
2007 Tyrod Taylor (VA)
2005 Ed Wang (VA)
2003 Vince Hall (VA)
2001 Bryan Randall (VA)
1994 Ken Oxendine (VA)
1992 Tommy Edwards (VA)

Kinda surprised Kevin Jones isn't on this list. Did I miss anyone?
That's some pretty solid company.
Wasn't Darren Evans a POY?
He was Indiana's Mr. Football.
Not only that, Evans was the 2006 EA Sports NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR!
http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=636851
Oddly enough, he was not the 2006 Gatorade Ohio Player of the Year.
Could be because he was from Indiana.
You are correct, good sir. Not sure why I was looking at Ohio instead of Indiana. What I meant to say was that Evans wasn't the Gatorade Indiana Player of the Year.
Lol I figured I just enjoy being a smartass sometimes.
Not bad for a three star running back.
Sounds like White Russell Wilson.
Except he's taller but not as fast.
I am so excited about this guy coming in. I hope and pray he gets that playbook and gets to work. He could really turn this thing around.
Assuming the Leal is the starter next year, is Hodges going to move to DE or some other position? Is Ford the lock to take over?
I see Hodges becoming the TE that Logan never was. He could be that addition to the TE roster that we greatly need.
Maybe, but we have Malleck for two more years and Cline for three. Unless he's the next coming of Jimmy Graham and beats the other guys out, I don't think we'd get more than one year to feature him... and that would be 2017.
...or we just steal stanford's playbook.
Why would you take Josh Stanford's playbook?
He really improved as the season progressed.
He'll need that next year.
Besides, stealing isn't nice.
I'd rather steal the 2011 New England Patriots playbook. #ALLTHE2TESETS
i read that as 'all the 2 testes' at first...
lysdexia...it'll get after ya'
If we have the Patriots playbook, which TE is the injury-prone-party-animal and which one is the murderer?
No need , just watch the Orange Bowl tape, plenty of TE's destroying defenses there....
I will now punch myself in the face.
In addition to Cline and Malleck, do not underestimate Xavier Burke. He's easily the best TE in the state, and one of the most underrated talents in the country.
I wouldn't say a lock per se, but the "he's Loeffler's guy" theory people I believe are going to be right from what I've heard. Leal will end up being the career back-up and Hodges is moving to TE.
So Beamer has a Ford?
The best in the Galaxie.
For damn sure the best in fair Lane stadium.
As I understand it, the coaches signed him after a pretty fun expedition up north.
I hope Ford can speed up the tempo of the offense and escort us back to a BCS bowl (maybe the Fiesta). It's gonna take a lot of focus, but I think he just may give us the edge we need.
Hahaha, I Crown (Victoria) you King of the bad Ford puns.
As long as it's not the Festiva bowl...
That's one excursion I don't aspire to make.
He should do well, but I think he'll need a redshirt year to bulk up.
Not sure if it is the right thread to ask the question, but does anyone know if he is enrolling early or moving to burg in the summer? Thanks!
I think I've seen fellow TKPers say he's enrolling in January if I'm not mistaken.
That's great news!
He said it on his twitter. He's even talked about how he has a few regrets not walking with his class mates, but that it's all worth it to make his time at VT under center that much better. The kid seems to be a hard worker. I really look forward to him.
GAAAATTTTTOOOOOORRRAAAAAAADE!
You're drinking the WRONG water!
Since our new President is leaving Purdue, maybe Andrew Ford can be our Drew Brees!
Ford should definitely be red-shirted. Leal has been in the system much longer. He has a quick release and will make up for our offensive line's shortfalls.
I would much rather invest in our future than have Ford play his first collegiate game in Columbus. He will be a phenomenal player for us so lets let Loeffler have plenty of time to work with him. Leal will give us a chance to win every game next season.
As for Bucky, he's going to ride the bench. My assumption is that he will transfer or play as a back-up tight end.
We open with William and Marry at home next season. Ohio State is our 2nd game.
I'd like to Christian Hackenberg the hell out of this Andrew Ford thing.
It'll be cool to see another lefty throwing for VT again. Can't wait to get this guy on campus!
