I think it's cool for them all to be there together, yet sad that it's took this long for Shane to come back to Blacksburg.

Stick it in...Stick it in...Stick it in

I think that speaks to the life of an assistant coach at a power program. Not too many days off.

Yes, hard to be mobile when you got to answer to the Oklahoma fan base

I hate to be pedantic ... wait no I dont ... If Shane had never seen the statue then they cant have been reunited. The are united for the first time. Such a memorable occasion like the time we got to see the constructicons unite for the first time. So cool.

The real life people were reunited to unite with the bronze guy on the bench.

That works for me.

Leonard. Duh.

They're missing one Beamer Boy.

Hank will always be a Beamer Boy

I still want the statue of Bud crouching beside Beamer. Beamer wouldn't be the name he is without Bud.

Bud got a "retirement" banner in Lane. That's pretty high honor and rare company- Bruce, Vick, etc.

I think with the Bud statue you have to put Stinespring on Bud's shoulders since Bud carried that man during the height of his career IMO.

I think that any statue of Bud would have to depict him animated with a glaring stare one moment and airborne the next as one of his defensive players ruined the afternoon of the opposing offense.

Ut Prosim Ad Dei Gloriam

How about a statue of him sprinting down the sideline?

HTHokie93

Nah, we've got to invent the future of statues for that, just have hologram Bud sprint down the sideline after every awesome Lunch Pail D play going forward.

Only if the clipboard attached to his belt is flying behind him.

It would have to be an animatronic one with him doing cartwheels

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Lol, not gonna lie I thought by the title there was going to be a reveal of Frank having a second family and more sons...

Damn, it's at +25. Can't upvote that.

Best duos in Hokie history: Hall & Adibi, 3rd & Tyrod, Georgia & Liz

I was wondering if I needed to downvote to get it back to 25, but I have a feeling it's not going to stay there anyway.

OK, I did it. Will remove if it goes up.

Shane should stick around in Blacksburg....Just in case a job were to come open.

I know there are going to be people who disagree, but I think an energized Shane on staff added with the the guys we are already bringing onboard would really help us get back to recruiting this area well. We need someone capable of going toe to toe with the likes of UNC in our own backyard and I definitely believe Shane is the kind of man who could do it.

honestly, I don't hate this. a few years ago would have been too early, but he has now worked as an assistant on teams that have made it to the CFP 3 years in a row. He has seen how an organization has to work in order to succeed at the highest level.

Whether or not, VT has the resources in order to support that is another story.

Bring him on as our Recruiting Coordinator that is treated with equal footing to the Offensive and Defensive Coordinators on staff and allow him to mold our recruiting platform in the way he deems appropriate, with Fuente having the final say on any decisions.

Once again, comes down to resources, but that's what I would look to do right now to help kickstart what we are trying to do here.

I know WE would love that, but would he? We can't pay 2 top tier coordinators and to add a 3rd would be...a problem. I don't think anything brings Shane back to bburg short of the head hokie job.

2 top tier coordinators

We have 2?

We have 2 coordinators, we just don't have the money to get 2 top tier ones...much less a 3rd coordinator at all

I'm picking up what you're putting down now.

At first I thought you were calling Cornelson a top tier coordinator - to which my response would have been

I'm an engineer. I don't make words so good

I think you're spot on and he's proving that right now.
