On-Field Argument Between Chuck Clark and Earl Thomas

Baltimore Ravens safety Earl Thomas was sent home Friday after a fiery on-field argument with safety Chuck Clark, a source told ESPN, confirming multiple reports.

The incident between Thomas and Clark was sparked by a missed assignment by Thomas, a source said. Thomas and Clark yelled at each other on the sideline and had to be restrained by teammates and coaches. Thomas put up his fists at one point.

Sounds like Chuck was doing his job as the QB of the defense and Thomas didn't like getting called out. Getting some press about Hokies in the NFL isn't necessarily a bad thing in this case.

Thomas missed practice today. Lots of smoke that the Ravens don't want him on the team.

You don't mess with DBU, Earl Thomas

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

The leadership council of the team wants Earl Thomas gone. Seems they feel Clark was in the right and Thomas may have been causing problems before this incident.

^^According to what I saw on twitter this AM.

Edit:

Hokies >> Longhorns

Alright alright alright

see 95 Sugar Bowl for proof...28-10 Hokies. Suck it, Mackovic.

Alright alright alright

Not entirely surprised, Thomas got shafted by the Seahawks but how he handled it cast light on his personality

Between Kam and Chuck, you'd think Earl would be used to taking orders from a Hokie by now

A younger player who just got a nice extension from the team publicly calls out a 7 time pro bowl, but known volatile, 31 yr old veteran who is due a $10 million bonus - unless he can be found to have triggered a "conduct detrimental to the team" clause in his contract?

Probably just a coincidence...

In a case like this I like to bring out this true story about the Steelers from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

Chuck Knoll was head coach at the time. Joe Greene (badass DT) got into a brawl with Jack Lambert (Super Bad Ass MF LB). Though not sure the rumor has it that Lambert won. I get that he was Butkus x 10.

Knoll was asked the next day WTH he was going to do about it. He responded with WTH am i going to do. 2 football players got ticked off had a fight and its over.

Side note: When the league started protecting the QBs (nothing like today) Lambert obliterated Brian Sipe of the Browns and was called for a late hit. Jack was quoted after the game asking; What are they going to do next, put skirts on 'em?

That's when football was football.

I do like the biz conspiracy theory of having Clark push Thomas to the brink.

Knoll? Really? I guess he was no Lumbardi.

I haven't heard this said, but I seriously think Thomas' off-field shenanigans is making it easier for the Ravens to make a decision involving the suspension and/or release of Thomas. As a Ravens fan, I really didn't see much of Thomas on the Seahawks, and everyone raves about how great he is or was, but I just don't see it with him on the Ravens. He looks very average or below average as an NFL safety to me. Slow to the ball, slow reactions, and not the devastating hitter that I heard he was. I think the Hawks knew what they were doing when they cut ties with Thomas.

Thomas is gone. They will either release him (conduct detrimental to team) or trade.

Welcome your newest Dallas Cowboy.

Bold of you to think Washington won't decide to offer to overpay him and give him a ridiculously long contract.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Chuck Clark has been in the league for a few years now and he's ready to take on a leadership role. He has to start taking action to cement his place on the roster and in the locker room. I think he did the right thing.
