Big 12 Minimum Roster Requirements

Looks like the Big 12 is the first to release guidance when it comes to player minimums to go ahead with a game.

Teams must play (or forfeit) if they have 53 players or more with at least 1 QB and 7 OL.

Obviously, conferences have been going rogue throughout this whole situation, but I will be interested to see if other conferences adopt a similar policy.

1 QB? Looks like Kenyucky is screwed. /s

you put /s but i think we all know there's at least a little bit of seriousness in that comment :P

They'll really get after ya

Well, Maryland will be out by week 3 or 4 if the B1G plays and adopts similar rules...

The BIG is certainly feeling left behind! The PAC 12? Well it's the Pack 12.

Talk about a bendable rule....you don't want to play you throw a few more kids in tracking quarantine (with Tennessee reporting 44 infected/tracking today, its an easy story to sell). And with enough key starters out, why wouldn't a coach?

I just want to hear coaches come out and say look we have our team perfectly divided in half. 1st and 3rd string qbs meet together; 2nd and 4th string together. We never have any position groups in the same close quarters and when we practice we make sure everyone is masked up and keeping with their group.

I want to hear that. I know better tho.

Fire guy

Edited... Nevermind.

Leonard. Duh.

Syracuse is preparing to start a guy with 28 career rushing attempts...

At left guard.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Is this a William The Fridgerator Perry kind of thing?

I saw that mentioned elsewhere online, and someone was like, "Well, he played on the DL at one point...what's the big deal?" And someone basically responded with, "Yeah, but imagine doing all of that while moving backwards and to the side and not folding up your own QB's knees...and you've got all of a couple of weeks to learn it."

Sidenote: he was also apparently a TE at one point, so I guess they're just going the opposite route of what we usually do.

Speaking of roster look down the list of OL the Hokies have this season.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

A 377 lb OLine? We sure he shouldn't be lining up as a nose tackle?

That's what you call a People Mover right there.

6-6, 377?

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

After seeing this, I πŸ’― agree with Fu that we better be able to run the ball this year.

You have to get excited when you realize we won't be losing too much on the Oline for next year either. And with the way Vance is recruiting, seems this is going to be a strong position for years to come.

Love the size and length- love the depth. I'll get a real woody though when it's 3rd and 5 and we hand it to a back, as opposed to the desperate QB power and conceded punt. That's when I'll know we are where we want to be. That or killing the clock the last 8 minutes of a game running it down someone's throat.

What BC did to us the last quarter of the 2019 game... that's what I want to be.

Yes- or Kentucky.
