Student ticket prices are crazy for bowl games. I can enter orange bowl ticket lottery for $125 each. They could even be top of the end zone. yay!

That's cool that they're doing this, but there will be very few Duke fans in Atlanta for two reasons:

1. They don't even show up for their home games. I live in Raleigh, and I've been to a handful of Duke football games over the years and there are almost always more visiting fans than Duke fans.
2. There is a Duke basketball game in Greensboro on the same day as the bowl game. It's basketball season, and most Duke fans are more interested in filling up the Greensboro Coliseum for basketball than the Georgia Dome for football.

"Hey Athletic Department! I'll pay for every single ticket that a student collects for the bowl game this year so that they can go free of charge! All you have to do is promise to give me basketball tickets for life!"

I am on the Duke Athletics email flyer (bought tickets for the VT game years ago and can't unsubscribe for some reason :/ )

They had this:

Please take a moment and call (919) 668-9235 or log onto GoDuke.com/tickets to purchase your seats for the game in Atlanta. If you are unable to attend, please consider purchasing tickets and donating them back to Duke Athletics so that we can put less fortunate youngsters and their families in the stands to support the 2013 Blue Devils and watch more history unfold.

I guess they had a pretty good response to that.
