Where are y'all at for game day on this fine Saturday morning?
Drop a pin, share a photo of your setup, divulge what you're cooking up. And obviously, beer selection matters.

Let's go?
Hokies!
Hokies!!
Going dual screens in the living room. Considering a three screen set up for later in the Fall.
Sierra Nevada Torpedo extra IPA's in the fridge.
Food will be likely a pre noon run to CFA and then dinner is TBD based on whether my chicken has thawed yet to make some pasta.
Whiskey.
Let's go.
Bourbon!
Hokies!
Currently sipping coffee and watching Gameday on the couch with my 2 oldest boys (9 and 7). Just saw Armani Chatman post that he got the green light so about to drink one glass of water and immediately begin pounding brews and jumping.
LETS FUCKING GO!
Currently on antibiotics so I can't drink much. Saving it for a few beers or whiskey during the game.
Pregame consists of running to the grocery store, swinging by the office for a few minutes, and taking the dog out to run before one of my wife's friends comes over for dinner and the game. Not super exciting, but I'm excited to get to watch some ball today!
Finally made some breakfast (waffles and PB), cleaning up the house and made a pot pie for dinner.
At the Beach House (Rehoboth). Will be watching on iPad on roof deck (thanks, Comcast).
Kona Brewing Co Long Board Lager brew of choice this game.
Okay, so how are you watching the game on your iPad? I am in northern Delaware (Newark) with Comcast, so no ACCN.
I have fios at home (Falls Church) so I can log in through it. Worst case, have a sling box at home as well.
I will be watching the game with my wife at our house in Christiansburg. Going to be smoking scalloped potatoes and a london broil we have marinating. We plan on doing a blind tasting of some bourbons and smoke some cigars I got from Blacksburg Pipe and Tobacco yesterday.
Hmmm, you're lucky. My wife won't let me smoke a cigar within a mile of her, much less her smoking one.
Watching in Wolfpack country drinking Lynnwood Mosaics
I love lynnwood brewing concern especially the mosaics!
Y'all are my people. LBC is practically in my backyard. I have some Back That Razz up in the fridge that the girlfriend and I will likely drink today.
Wish I was still close to five points, moved to Apex in March but I loved going to Lynnwood all the time
Home. Davidson, NC.
Whatever beer is left in the fridge. I think I got a few Fantasy Land Hazy IPAs from Sycamore brewing left. Giggity.
Throwing some chicken breasts in the crockpot to shred and make taquitos with an assortment of dips.
At home in Fairfax, and about to plant myself in front of the TV for the day and finish a puzzle.
Drinks will start around noon. Was planning on sipping on the knob creek 12 I just bought but tried it last night and honestly it's just meh. So I'll stick to my go to Elijah Craig.
Is that barrel strength? If so try a little bit of water in it to open it up.
Only 100 proof. I did put one cube in it (how I normally prefer it) After trying it neat and it helped But not that much to make it worth the price tag IMO
I picked up some old granddad 114 yesterday. I highly recommend it.
Working through a first cup of coffee to recover from the preseason Bourbon last night. Plan to drop by a couple of local breweries today to pick up some new beers, 4 packs of NEIPA and Marzen from Kernersville Brewing Company and a celebratory Crowler of a Samoan Imperial Stout from Gypsy Road. While getting a replacement toilet seat for my one at home project. Will carry in dinner, TBD. To be honest, I was too scared of another cancel to make any real plans for this one. Buddy scored me a bottle of Blanton's, and will rewatch a win with him tomorrow and crack it open.
Let's go, Hokies!
Just moved to Dunedin, Florida. Setting up my "homegate" in the carport. Running out this morning for a new homegate TV and bourbon. This afternoon headed to one of the nine breweries within half mile of the house to find my gametime growler.
VT football is back!
Home. Captain and Coke. Don't know what hubby is offering to the football gods.
Wishing I was in Lot 18.
I am off my game... I accidently got Jersey Mike's yesterday. So, it sounds like SusieCue is calling for Joey's Hot Dogs. Then maybe a hike pre-game.
Sharpening broadheads, more target practice, and anxiously awaiting results from one of our club members who's out with a neighbor kid on youth day and is going to check the cameras. Then celebrating my wife's birthday and hanging out with the fam. No football for me. Lost all interest in non Hokie sports and I don't get the ACCN.
Go Hokies!
Looking for a youtube tv buddy to scan off of to watch the game
GameDay snuck up on me this year! Gonna go for a mild hike in seashore stat Park. Day drinking with O'Connor Hip Hop Annonymous vol. 3. Watching the game at CP Shucks on shore dr
Home gating with Enter Night Pils and Wild Turkey. Might add a glass of Buffalo Trace or 1792 depending on how the game is going.
I'm just glad there's some Hokie football. Drinking Solace Partly Cloudy here in Winchester tonight.
Go Hokies!
At home with my wife and kids! I may need to DVR and start late as we are celebrating a Hoo friend's birthday for dinner.
Likely one pour of Bowman Brothers and a LOT of pacing!!
Go Hokies!!!
"Hoo friend"? Sorry, having a hard time understanding this one. J/k, I've got a few also.
Kids' soccer games in the Space Coast of Florida. 80 degrees / feels like 120 degrees.
GO HOKIES! #bEaTCorRonAViRUs2o20
Going to swing by Sapwood Cellars to pick up their Cheater Hops X2 DIPA, their English Summer Ale, and their Festbier before heading to my friend's to watch the game. Probably going to bring my Festbier along, too for comparison.
Helping to paint a friend's house, while they work this morning/afternoon. Making sure it's done in plenty of time before the game.
That's some elite-level friending.
Getting the night going at Fin & Tonic in Suffolk, VA then back to watch the game with my parents. They have agreed to get up with our 1 year old in the morning so honestly I'm more excited about sleeping in.
I will be knee deep in Blanton's by kickoff though.
I'm editing French's Duke preview now (π π₯). Next I'm going to clean my sticks and get the driveway TV setup. Then I'm going to take my son to his soccer match. I picked up some Guinness Blondes. Has anyone had them? They are delicious.
I love blondes.....I don't know anything about Guinness though
FYI looks like Marty/McGee daps us up a little:
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/29963536/marty-mcgee-en...
getting out the halloween decorations to be put up tomorrow.
hope to hit benchtop brewery to load up on some trip dry hop gong waters. i'll bust out a cellar bottle tonight as well.
right now, picking o/u and +/- for my gambling fantasy leauge. yrs past played more college than pro, but this yr, way, way more pro. just don't know who is out and/or have practiced wrt college kids.
I was there two weekends ago and picked up a 4 banger of Ripping Freshies. Elite. Also got some Dirt Nap from Veil in Norfolk, it didn't last long.
only 2 breweries to go to in nfk, imo.
I haven't been as impressed at Benchtop in the last year. Smartmouth has had some really good stuff lately, so we spend more time there when we're in Chelsea. In Ghent, my default is O'Connor. But that's largely because Veil only has a couple tables outside and we like to bring the dog.
When we have the time, we tend to go over to Hampton. Oozlefinch and Tradition are our favorites in the 757.
i know porter, good guy. i like smartmouth, but much prefer bt. the wife of kevin o'connor went to tech, i was in quite a few classes with her my jr and sr yr.
tradition has gotten better, but still a no. oozlefinch is p solid, but peninsula is a p sad lot til you get to williamsburg.
Lunch at Chicks. Swing by Commonwealth Brewery for something delicious. Makers Cast Strength for watching the game at home.
Pre game in Floyd at Buffalo Mountain Brewery Fall festival. Then burgers on the BGE, Rolling Rocks and Margaritas. Go Hokies!
A staycation for 3 year old turning 4. She loves watching the monorails
I hear those things are awfully loud.
We can't afford to stay on property with 4 kids. We stay off property with 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath, full
Laundry, full kitchen with full size stove and fridge, outdoor grill and eating area for less than 1 night on property.
We come to contemporary and eat a long breakfast and then sit in the lobby and train watch.
They're electric so they're nearly silent. The people waiting to board however, they aren't so silent.
cleaning house. eating tomato sandwiches with lots of Duke's mayo. having some friends over... Jack, Jim, Henry, Evan, you know, the usual suspects. Listening to Jon and Mike. dad gone comcast!
Watching soccer and seasoning my new Traeger, then going to Oconnor and Veil to pick up some beer, watch both power hours this afternoon, probably smoke a couple ribeyes for gametime
Have to go a wedding shower instead of pre-gaming. Great people, will be fun, but why tf cant people do that stuff any time of the year besides football season????
Finally got around to harley-raking the backyard and seed/straw/fertilizering the shit out of it. Tired of looking at dirt. Gonna shower, hit the road towards Greenville, SC (wife is in a residency down there), get her some food and go find a sports bar and commence to pound. Some. Beers. πΊ πΊ πΊπΊπΊ
I'm pounding beers, thanks for asking. Geeeeeze.
Setting a TV up on the back deck shortly, going to cook some wings this afternoon and watch games all day. Picked up a few Sam Adams sweater weather packs and some DB Oktoberfest. Going to be a glorious day.
Cleaning up a bit, with some coffee and vinyl.
Enjoy the (slightly) crooked TV
Going to be a long 9 hours
Lets see... PS4 and what looks like a DAC and headphone amps sitting on top, AV receiver down below, PC on the far left... would love to know what kind of power you are getting out of the tube amp.... and no headphones?
PS4 with a Pro-Ject DAC, BUT next to it is not a headphone amp, its a home made input selector to switch between the audio setup and the TV setup. No headphones for the main setup, only my workstation.
The tube amp is a chinese model out of the same factory that makes Line Magnetic equipment. Its rated at 48 watts in Ultralinear mode, which is more than enough to power the monitor audio 90db floor standers in the room they are in. PC streams tidal on the digital side.
I hear the Pro-Ject DAC, is that a Pro-Ject turntable too? Because if that's the X1/X2 you can consider me jealous.
It's only a lowly debut carbon. Does have an acrylic platter though. The musical fidelity phono amp is also going to get a custom LPS soon.
It's still dope, I didn't know they made the Debut in wood. I've got it in gloss red and I love it. $100 for an acrylic platter might not be a bad upgrade though.
love the setup but that crooked TV would drive my OCD insane. lol
It looks way worse in photos. It's tilted a bit to the right for viewing, and it really doesn't look that bad in person.
Nice setup you have there good sir.
Thank you Logan!
Doing my workout this morning Enter Sandman was the first song that came on my playlist shuffle. I am taking this as a omen that the Football Gods want us to play and win!
Home...
Jamaican Jerk wings on the egg (a 5 hour smoke) with rice & beans, plantains and sweet potatoes.
Bourbon - Blanton's
Wings for 5 hours? I can't believe they won't turn into leather.
They were actually chicken legs. 5 hours at around 220 (or so) and the meat falls off the bone. Very good!
Would love to be watching from home but cant seem to find an option for this one as Xfinity still hasnt made a deal for ACCN. Has this been rolled over to an RSN?
Going fishing, then hitting Hooters for 20 Three Mile Island breaded drums and then Crooked Run brewing for a yet to be determined growler of something. Hope to have found a way to watch by then.
I might need to go grab a growler of crooked run also now that you mentioned it. I saw that today is their Schwartztoberfest in Sterling, so I might pick up some of that style.
Excellent, since Sterling is my go to
Are they doing growlers still with COVID? Never thought to ask them last time I was there.
Sounds like the Sterling location is doing growlers but my whole day just went to shit due to meddling ladies.
I may have to head up there then. Love that place and they gave me one of their recipes once to homebrew so they're winners in my book
Workout to the Hokie Power Hour this morning, then headed to work for the day until 4 or 5 hopefully. Then watching college football for the first time this season until the Hokie game comes on. Planning on making some Buffalo chicken egg rolls and drinking some beer.
How exactly does one "work out" to the hokie power hour?
watching college football for the first time this season until the Hokie game comes on
what happens when the Hokie game comes on? no more football? I can understand that with the wolfpack, but the Hokies......
/s
Moving into our new house this weekend. Getting valuables, electronics, and other various odds and ends today and the professionals are getting the big boxes and furniture tomorrow.
Hope to be able to set the 55 inch tv up on the back deck for the game. Might try to have a socially distanced watch party with a couple people if I can get the setup done.
Congrats on your new place!
My fiance and I are closing in October for our first place. Back yard is ripe for a tv setup.
Working at a farm fall festival thing all day. Then trying to stay awake for the game.
Gonna probably take the TV outside and (hopefully) enjoy the game from the hot tub with some Elijah Craig or Eagle Rare.
This man living his best life π
Back home for my mama's birthday. She's a Pirate so we're gonna watch that game at noon. Then I head back to Raleigh to "tailgate" and watch the game with a bunch of State fans. The only other Hokie cancelled so I will be solo among the wolf packers
Woof, amiright?
Gonna go surfing for my pregame (Duck, OBX), then either pick up pizza for the game or head to a bar w/ the wife and brother.
I've heard the swell there has been good this past week!
Past 2 weeks the ocean has been absolutely crazy. Most days are just stormy waters flowing all the way up to the dunes, no beach to sit on. A few days ago it looked about double overhead and breaking everywhere all the way up to about 300 yards offshore. (Un?)fortunately, I was working...may not have been a good day for me. Today was not very successful, but I didn't try to go to a pier or known spot...hoping tomorrow is a little less rough and hopefully sunny.
I was down in Avon a couple of weeks ago and it poured down rain all week long. Finally on Friday we had a good overhead break about 100 yards out. We tried, but by the time I fought my way out I only had a couple of rides in me. I was worn out!
Doing my best to tire out the boys today so we can get them down for an early bedtime, then pounding some pumpkin ales and Oktoberfests
That's elte level daddin' right there.
via GIPHY
I'll be watching the game on a screen the size of a small wall
Watching from home in Kill Devil Hills with my folks, came down for the weekend.
Homebrewed IPA and Belgian Dark Pale ale flowing on tap, and some Burial Beer in the fridge for good measure
Duel tv tonight watching The Hokies and the ufc fights
Finishing a treehouse for the kids (9, 7, & 4). If they don't help I should be able to knock it out today Checking scores to see how my bets for the weekend shape up. Probably listening to the game on tune-in tonight.
If you have a better connection than mine, you could try sports surge. It's where they moved r/cfb streams
https:// sportsurge(dot)net/
My girl and I are having gameday at our house and having dad(UVA FAN ugh) over for the game. Dad has already begun his trash talk lol but I keep telling him Perkins is long gone. We are doing an old fashioned pot roast with taters and carrots... started it in the crock pot around noon here is a pic so far....
Unfortunatley the roast is so big we cant add the potatoes with it. We are going to have to boil them and add them near the end. By kickoff that meat is going to be melt in your mouth tender!
I went to check my laundry just before the noon kickoffs and found the floor flooded. So toubleshooting this has now consumed my day.
That's unfortunate!
Smoking wings on the Pit Boss, drinking Busch Lattes so I stay hydrated for bourbon later while watching the other gams.
Southport, NC. Got some Knob Creek on deck.
Checking in from Wintergreen. Likely watching this one on YouTube TV. Go Hokies!
We're so close!! Has anyone heard anything else about players getting the green light or getting held out?
This tweet is just hype, no intel I think.
https://twitter.com/hokiesfb/status/1309885441123004418?s=21
Go Hokies!!!
I've been sitting waiting all day for the spies to comment on this. I picture French somewhere with one of those 4 foot infrared camera lenses sitting somewhere like a sniper. Wasn't the walk at 3 PM?
Someone commented on Twitter that Burmeister was starting because HH was out until Thursday. I'm not sure there were any #sauces behind that.
Just picked up all the goods to make Cuban sandwiches. Trying 'The Grotto' IPA from Foolproof brewing i hadn't seen before in my store. Also picked up some Black Hog IPA.
Got a case of Sam Adams Oktoberfest chilling in the fridge, it FINALLY feels like football season so let's start it off right! LETS GOOOOOOOO
Super busy day. Took daughter to her math tutor, grocery shopping, exercise, picked up some Philly Pretzel Factory soft pretzels and hot spicy mustard, daughter's dance recital (outdoor stage, and her last as she decided to stop dancing after this year), got to watch the end of the game and see dad's old school Iowa State bounce back from a terrible loss last week, made pasta salad, marinating chicken breasts now and about to fire up the grill to get them cooked. Wife has the fire pit going outside too. See you guys tonight, the grill is calling!
I am going to lift a glass in honor of Bud Foster for the past glories and another for J Hamilton for the glories of the future.
I'm watching from the Winnie Palmer hospital with my first born. She is watching her first of many Hokie games with her dad, I hope. Although if wake mom or baby I may be murdered.
Congrats brother....i too watched a game in the hospital later in the night after my daughter was born. Unfortunately that one was a bowl loss the day after xmas in 2003 to Aaron f'n Rogers in a shootout....hope you fare better and start her off right....congrats again!
Also...whats her name FAM!
Thanks, and yeah let's hope tonight goes better than that bowl. Her name is Leia!
May the force be with us!
Congrats!!!! We watched the 2011 Appy State game from the hospital room when I had mini Lancerhokie. Enjoy these times.
Update:
Bout to throw some cheesesteaks on the griddle for pregame then I'll migrate to the hot tub. Will keep the remote handy to flip between the Lakers and Hokies π
Godspeed boys.
At first glance I thought you were sitting drinking beer and staring at an impressionist painting of a lady in a field on a clear day
Got the fire pit going here in Michigan, the glencairn is full of Buffalo Trace and Laaser is on the tune in app.
9+ hours in the crockpot came out absolutlely perfect!
Not quite perfect. There's none at my house.
Ugh I'm so stuffed come get 2 bowls there is still a crock pot full of it and only 3 of us.
Save some room home made yellow cake for dessert
