Noon games are generally not liked but the good news is the game is on ABC so the production quality shouldn't be absolute crap.

Noon sucks but ABC probably means national coverage for the game.
And hopefully improved camerawork.
And no nose-whistling.
Plus a halftime studio show that isn't being conducted via Zoom over DSL.
My favorite part was that there was clearly a time Mark Richt was semi-quietly trying to tell his wife (Karen it sounded like) to do something while EJ Manuel was talking.
Since I'm not attending any games in person this year, nooners are fine with me. You don't have to wait all day and there's daylight left after the game is over.
Agreed. Noon games are ideal for watching at home IMO. Absolute worst option for tailgating/in person viewing though.
Sometimes with games like this, especially from home as you mentioned, I'd rather just get it out of the way at noon instead of thinking about it all day. It's particularly true for this instance against UNC, a game that I think has a broad array of implications of varying importance.
Honestly with Covid, these days night time is still perfect. It's not like I got anything else going on during the weekend. I'll take the Saturday afternoon to get some exercise and/or read a book and the night to have the game to look forward to.
Yeah I got a shit ton done around the house on Saturday morning/afternoon. If I start watching/listening to the game at noon and drinking, I am likely done with productive activity for the day.
plus night game means my toddler is in bed for most of the game
Yeah, but sometimes it annoys my wife if I'm hammered by 4pm
Get her hammered first?
Someone has to attend to the kiddo
Fair enough. Not for nothing, but at 3 years old, my brother-in-law was able to go to the fridge and get another beer for his parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles and knew which beer went to which person.
Family activities are valuable learning opportunities.
If the game is at noon, why would you be hammered by 4pm. Honestly, I'm disappointed.
You can do better than that!
Not gonna lie, I prefer this to the 8pm games. I was really dragging ass towards the end #oldmanproblems
As a college student I have the opposite problem with morning games
I'm not sure the number of times I rolled out of bed at 11 am, dressed, took a shot of bourbon, and ran to the game.
It almost became a habit back when we kept getting nooners in 2013/2014.
EDIT: fixed some grammar.
Ah yes - good times! I remember rolling out of bed at 11am, going from hungover to re-drunk in about 30 minutes, and walking over to the stadium in time for kickoff! My upstairs neighbor would always make a bunch of jello shots for noon games. I don't love jello shots - but they were importantly easy to stomach on 4 hours of wasted, whiskey-infused sleep and they always did the trick!
it's too bad you fixed grammar...it might have helped emphasize the point of the post had you left it the way it was*
*I didn't actually see the original so not really sure what changed
Just some verb tenses not matching up.
I don't know how but I was up for every nooner at 5am to set up a keg and offset smoker with some friends.
let's meet in the middle at 1530!
12PM is not morning homie
It is when you live in Central time.
The sun won't even be up here in Hawaii for this noon game. I don't mind the 6am game starts out here mostly because 1) baby jetblckfastattck gets up at 4am and goes down for his first nap at 6am just in time for the game to start and 2) gives me all day to do stuff after the game ends at 9am if I'm not a drunken mess.
Genius move, considering that if the game started at 8:00 and goes anything like it did last year, it wouldn't be over until the end of the 14th overtime at 2am....
Hell yeah
Got a wedding to go to at 4:30 so won't have to miss the game.
Can just celebrate the bride, groom, and whipping Mack Brown's ass.
I'm good with the time. Even here in Arizona, the 5pm start was cutting into making dinner and quality time with the kids.
A nooner lets me watch with my son and the wife won't get too "it's fine" on me before the game ends.
*Checks National Hurricane Center for some good news

I mean there is an almost certain chance that there will be hurricanes in South Carolina that evening...

Sure it makes sense. Almost certain is the equivalent of being 600% committed to Virginia Tech.
I like a good nooner. Not gonna lie. I like it a lot.
Hokies will have a lot of eyes on this game. They need to come out battling.
Weaver's spirit is with us! His legend lives on!
Also why the hell I buy youtube tv if we gonna be on ABC
Just looked at UNCs schedule for the season. They ended up with one of the easiest draws out of all the teams. Avoiding Clemson, Pitt, and , Louisville and playing mostly the bottom half of the conference.
I bet that was just luck......./s
Yeah, but they have to play us...

I want this game bad - we can do this against their front 7
I love nooners in October. I can hunt the morning, watch the game, go hunt the evening! November, I want 3:30 or later.
