Where's TKP at for game day on this fine Saturday morning?
Drop a pin, share a photo of your setup, divulge what you're cooking up. And obviously, beer selection matters.

Trail run this morning in Shenandoah National Park then heading home for the game. Brunswick Stew and Solace Party Cloudy IPA. Go Hokies!
I love Partly Cloudy from Solace. Wish I could get it down here in NC. Enjoy!
Brunswick stew sounds good. Are you making it or did you get it from somewhere?
I'm at the lake house enjoying the quite this morning and I have a bottle of Longbranch Bourbon for later.
P.S. just finished a new fire pit
Looks like I have to do all the work around here:

At home in Davidson, NC. Got to seed the yard and put some top soil down on the bare spots. This summer was brutal on the lawn.
Sycamore Juiciness for the game. Steaks with the wife after the game and kids go to bed.
Amen. We're down in union county and it was a lot of the same. My lawn looked absolutely wonderful until July rolled around then it turned to complete ass.
We have new sod the builder put in also. I don't think there was any amount of water I could have dumped on it to save it.
When was the sod laid?
House was finished in March so I am guessing around that time.
When did you close/take possession? Usually it's a week or two before that happens. Doing lawn work for a few years, I can tell you those guys often don't prep the soil at all and just throw out the sod over top of anything.
You're not alone in having to redo a builder lawn.
We closed in May. It was a spec build that was completed in late March judging by how long it was on the market. Yes, they laid the sod directly on rocky sandy dirt.
Yeah that's the problem with new construction, they grade the land which strips the soil of all of the microorganisms and other nutrients that a healthy lawn needs. You may need to talk to a landscaper about laying down a layer of topsoil just to kind of jump start your micro ecosystem so that your grass has something to feed off of.
This is of course not to mention that rocky, sandy soil is not going to retain water for very long.
I know this first hand. When I had my deck rebuilt I had to put 2 inches of dirt down in the back yard just to get something to grow because it was all clay and rock. I also found that the builder in the 90s buried some of their construction debris under the old deck which was found when my contractor had to put down new posts. I was NOT happy.
I split my time between Union and Mecklenburg counties.
Makes me feel a little better, but sorry for your lawn. My fescue got rekt in August.
At home in the RVA, let's go! Hokies!
I crushed a run this morning. Have soccer at 4:00 (thankfully YouTubeTV exists) and then back home at 5:00 for some cold ones and Hokies on the big screen.
Right down the road from Durham, prob drinking various forms of Festbiers
In downtown Durham! The air is crisp and has a bit of a stinging chill like a 27-20 game would. LETS GO HOKIES!
Gun range this morning, taking the dog to the vet, then heavy on the brown liquor while hoping for fake punts.
Cooking up a skin on pork belly most of this afternoon. Have a 3 liter box of Oude Vieux Lambiek, and 4 pack of Boulevard BBA Quad for pre/during game beer, and some Old Overholt bottled in bond Rye for celebrating with a Manhattan or forgetting the whole thing, depending. Will have a couple (husband & wife) Hokie friends over, with a fire afterward if no one is slurring by the end.
Working on Manhattan #3. Gonna need more sweet Ermouth. Fire planned for too orrow.
I'm not sure you need #4
Hanging out at home. Not sure what we are eating. Will definitely be drinking Captain and Coke...
Rockfish on the grill with a Falcon Smash in my hand. A great Richmond IPA.
I love Falcon Smashes but you have to be careful... I will have a vague recollection of the 2nd half if I don't switch to something lighter after 2 or 3 of them.
Son has a baseball tournament and plays last game starting at 2PM. Then will be riding like a rocket ship home to enjoy Corona, Shrimp Tacos, and the Hokies beating the absolute shit out of an inferior opponent.
LETS GO!!!!
Bought 4 different Aslin beers for this game to match the number of VT sacks...in the first half.
What'd you get?
Bringing Sexy Back
How Now Brown Cow
Orange Starfish
Master of Karate
I used to wait in line at the brewery for 3 of 4 of them, and can now get them at the store, awesome stuff.
Taking the dog to the vet, yard work and some 4 Roses Small Batch for the game.
BBQ smoked chicken pizza's with cilantro and red onions. Pecan Ale and finish with Jameson and Ginger. 38-17 Hokies.
My three best friends from grade school, two of which are Hokies, flew up for the weekend. All of us got tested this week, one already had COVID bad.
We've been partying pretty hard. Lots of great wine, beer, vodka, & weed. Today we'll head out for the best lobster rolls on the planet for lunch, then will pick up some shrimp, swordfish, & steaks to have after we watch the Hokies kick Duke's ass.
Going to open some great wine later...this will be epic.
Go Hokies!
I'm in awe of how strong you hold it down. Enjoy!
Damn, nice!!
Not sure why this shows up differently on mobile but whatever haha
Everyone liked that.
In a hotel in El Paso, TX. Watching on Youtube TV via my laptop since I'm assuming places around here won't have ACCN.
Goose Island and Spaten Oktoberfest
Watching at home with the family in Richmond. Planning to work on the assortment of Veil beers and Oktoberfests I picked up over the week.
First VT @ Duke game I won't be watching in Wallace Wade since ACC expansion. Back in 04 it was cheaper to be a Duke football season ticket holder, then just buying tickets to the tech game π
If I am 20 min late for the game will WatchESPN allow me to start from the beginning or will I have to wait until its over to watch on replay?
Youll have to wait till its over if you wanna see it from the beginning.
Jackson, MS with the game on the bring screen on the patio Southern Prohibition beer and a big pot of chili. And my wife and dogs.
Picked up some Fat Tire Ale yesterday (I love amber ales), so am all set with my Hulu/ACCN setup on the 65" Sony, which I picked up (on a Black Friday deal) the same evening as our last win over LOLUva.
Fat Tire is the best. Almost left my MIL in NC one time to bring back cases of it (before you could get it in VA).

I feel like I should say that again...

Grateful Dead and Phriends on WNRN this morning to get pumped up to coach 4yo soccer. We don't keep score, but went undefeated last year and looking to repeat!
Dechutes juicy IPA and Basil Hayden's for game time. Food TBD...
Helping take care of our two youngest granddaughters today while their parents are out celebrating their anniversary. I hope my wife is especially gracious today and will be willing to take the grands on by herself will I sneak in some game watching. Go HOKIES!
Indoctrinate the grandkids.
Newport va. Bout to get some macados chicken wings and chill until game time which I hope we witness another ass kicking from the hokiesπ€
Albuquerque zoo with the family in the morning. Game's at a confortable 2pm time slot here. I'm feeling like gin and tonics and some Bourbon today. All capped by a Balloon glow here on base at 6pm.
Since the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta got canceled this year, the city is doing a bunch of small events (some ascencions and some evening glows) spread around the city. We got lucky they're doing one a block from our house on post so no driving needed.
The balloon glow in Albuquerque is on my bucket list. The photos alone look amazing!
Absolutely. Recommend you book a multi day stay. It's a 10 day festival and tickets are good for any day and some days can get scratched for high winds. It's quite the experience to walk around the balloons as they start ascending and then you get to see close to 500 hot air balloons in a picture perfect cloudless sky.
Still in Washington so my game time is 1pm. I'm just gonna lounge around until then.
I've got some Sour Fruit by Artizen on stand by for the game. It's a pretty decent hybrid.
Was my birthday yesterday, Fiance is baking a cake today and has some sort of surprise (I think) involving the game today.
What a beauty boyos
Happy late Hokie birthday!
Rolling to Richmond so wife can pick up some stuff this morning, back by game time. Will be pulling up youtube tv on my phone to watch the NCSt/Pitt game. Go Wolfpack.
Apple orchard followed by a winery starting early afternoon out towards front royal. Then back for the second half and baking some sort of pie/crisp/crumble with the apples.
Rappahannock Cellars or Naked Mountain?
Went to Aspen Dale. Pretty solid with a really good outside area
Playing a charity capt's choice, picking up my dog, then commencing to drink beer and watch football allll day
Smoking my first pork shoulder. Probably play the new Star Wars Squadrons game all afternoon. St George Oktoberfest is today's game beer.
Butts on game day.
Count me in, but I'm just rubbing and fridging a big butt to put in the oven tonight for tomorrow evening's meal. We are too wound up on game day to enjoy a big meal, so it's nachos and Bud Light for tonight, but a bodacious BBQ dinner tomorrow night in celebration. Rubbing with a bunch of Pincha rub from a friend's Henderson, NC company. Haven't tried it before, but it smells fantastic in the fridge. I can't wait to wake up in the morning to the aroma of roasting pork, but I do feel sorry for the dog having to drool all night long.
I like butts!
Wait...what are we talking about?
Disney World! Enjoying so overpriced beers and food. Let's go!
Knob Creek for the game. Someone sent me a box of 4 bottles of red wine that I did not order. I tried several times to convince the people at WINC that they made a mistake; but they insist the wine was shipped to the correct address. I have waited 2 months; but I am going to crack the first bottle with the salmon tonight after the game.
Sadly kicked the kegs of both my Festbier and Munich Dunkel last night. So I guess I'm buying some crispy malty lagers today to supplement my weissbier and hazy Belgian IPA. At least this gives me a chance to make a mΓ€rzen since it's the season!
Stupidly scheduled a vet appointment for my dog at 4 so I'll be watching the game on my phone at first. Then it'll be a steak dinner after the game.
All day grass Volleyball tournament-daughter playing.
Beautiful weather in SC upstate.
Will be trying to follow on phone if the ladies advance later......
20 feet up a tree. Nothing but turkeys all morning. A positive omen, perhaps?
Go Hokies!!
Used to be my game day omen when I lived in Giles. Seeing turkeys on game day was a solid good sign.
Got up at 5-something AM to make hoagies for the Knights of Columbus hoagie sale. Grocery shopping followed by the liquor store - bought some Schofferhofer pomegranate wheat beer amongst other things. Taking my daughter to swim practice in about an hour and will do some walking. Should be back right around kickoff time. Daughter has Girl Scouts later in the evening and a school bonfire, but my wife is handing those.
Just picked up Buffalo Bill's Black Pumpkin Oatmeal Stout. I am looking forward to cracking that one open.
πMerrifield, VA on my townhouse patio

πΊHowling Gourds Pumpkin Ale
Memphis, TN here - plan to drink some local Wiseacre 'Unicornucopia' Barrel Aged Belgian Ale and smoke the top of a pork shoulder to mix into some pasta with mushrooms. And of course cheer on the Hokies while getting progressively drunker over the course of the game.
It worked well last week so I'm makin cuban sandwiches again with IPA's
Just finished edging my flower beds. Now planning out my new wood shop after buying a Miter and Table saw today. Then going to fire up the Kamado Joe and make some pizzas. Hoping for a painless game again.
I'll be watching in my basement with PBR in the house we just bought in Hillsborough NC
Congrats and I hope limes are involved.
I'm getting so thirsty for that game day thread
Ready for the game day thready
I unfortunately was out of town last weekend, so today is the first of many this little man and I get to watch Hokie football together!
Back in Rehoboth Beach again (might as well, right?)..
Trying some Thompson Island experimental stuff: Apple Crisp Bliss and Glazed and Confused. They're doing a beer and donut pairing today...I mean, what could possibly go wrong with that??!!
Hoping to celebrate the win with Larsony neat after the game. That's my new come down and relax after the game treat.
Beer and donuts are an interesting pairing, for sure. I've had beer with ginger snaps and really enjoyed it, but doughnuts? Still, I'd like to try that right now.
They've paired Apple Fritters with the Apple Crisp Bliss and Boston Creme with the Glazed and Confused.
Well, I'm in. Who's driving?
The other guy
Thank god it's stout season. Got a handful of bourbon barrel stouts in my belly and this 10 pt lead finally has me feeling peachy.
