and Wake loses the opener to Kentucky, 6-5
Bo wins match 1 by pin. Was down 4-0 at the start. Scored 10 unanswered before he got the pin

I am running up against this problem with my 8 year old. The rec Leagues are a mess, the refs are 12 and wildly inconsistent and barely know the rules (calling off-sides on players that never touch the ball), and no one wants to coach so I end up coaching because I am one of the few parents that played. Half the kids want to goof off the entire practice and so the other half that has interest don't get much learning or skill improvement. My son is actually interested in the game and I am having to look at U10 club teams in the hope that he can actually learn and improve. I really don't want to get into travel sports at this age, but my fear is if he really wants to stay with it he will be miles behind and never make a club team when he's 10.

Na, I like playing at Maryland cause it will be a home game for all yhe northern va hokies. And I benefit from that
MD went to 9 bowls in 14 years, from 2001-2014. Then they joined the B1G. Since then, 4 bowl games.
I think about this when I hear clatter of VT to the $EC........
Thank you for the context.
Seems like the Gov did the right thing after all.
Fair enough! Will be interesting to see how they look in a couple weeks
I saw a graphic floating around about how the Big 10 added UMD, Rutgers and Nebraska all in a few year span, and those teams have combined for a total of 6 wins against ranked opponents since they joined the Big 10.
Obviously the Big 10 added UMD and Rutgers for viewership and TV contract reasons, not for football resumes, but still. UMD leads the way with 4 ranked wins since joining the Big 10 in 2014, and all of them are ooc. If this graphic I saw is correct, they literally haven't beaten a ranked big 10 team since joining the big 10 over a decade ago. Isn't that insane?
Even we have beaten a ranked big 10 team in that timeframe and we a) have been ass per our standards and b) don't play anywhere near the number of big 10 games that they do. Just wild that they get to be part of a "new power conference" and get tons of TV money while we are trying desperately to not get left out in the cold.
Also, wouldn't slander not apply because it was written and not spoken?

I present the Wisconsin series
I WOULD have been 40 or so when this was originally supposed to be played; as currently showing I'll be 66 if it doesn't get delayed AGAIN. With the way it's going I could get the call for my 100th birthday before the series is ever played!
Still hoping to visit the Grove in 2037 at age 72!
Whoa... BC got dropped by Liberty 4-3. Would love to have been sitting in the corner watching that one unfold.
As long as we beat them this year, I don't care whether we play them again or not. They're are a bottom b10 team.
Yep I was at that game! We picked up an extra ticket for $5 !
Other notes-there was a Purdue fan tailgating next to us who was gaga over every time we played any Journey music, lol! Also on the walk back, some students tried to heckle us and bad mouth us from their dorm windows as we walked back to our car. We just said- look at the scoreboard!
To their credit- 1) the hatred for their rival is awesome; during every every kickoff REGARDLESS of who they're playing that day, the crowd counts down to the actual kick by saying "I...U...sucks!"
2) After the football game the women's volleyball team hosted Notre Dame in the Mackey arena. Tickets were only $5 in a Pack the Mack promotion. There was a crowd of about 7k there and their cheerleaders would lead the crowd as play went onn with the whole audience yelling as each hit occurred "bump! set! spike!"-it was actually pretty impressive!
Live look at the mods in this thread

Kudos, I'm sure this is "fun"
I like this one better ....
In other games - GT is absolutely annihilating UIC right now, 22-3 in the 7th. 21 Hits for GT so far.
There's four hokies in the best 2 out of 3 matches. Trying to have big hokies representation on the international front
What?!?! I only remember one game against Purdue when we whipped them all up and down their high school sized stadium.
J. Pearson and Ryan McCarthy, both nominated by Gov. Youngkin, are still on the board, and they were the board's two point men in bringing Franklin in. Mehul was nominated by Gov. Spanberger, and we all know where he's coming from.
Whatever's going on here, I don't think taking VT football/athletics down a peg has anything to do with it, and I think assuming Spanberger is pro-UVa and anti-VT is a pretty silly way to look at how a politician is going to handle two of the biggest economic drivers in the state.
It's the next step, battlefield, arena (not sure right word here), having political appointments either former or even active elected officials be appointed the president of colleges, or their high up aids. 6 Florida schools have had this done. In Idaho, Indiana and Texas there have been massive overhauls to college boards, removing facility, alumni and student reps.
I think a lot of people are also taking rumors and running with it. Youngkin may have been mentioned as a candidate, but that's a lot different than one man was unilaterally bypassing the Board and trying to hire him. Either way the full Board would have to vote on any candidate before they are appointed.
