Man this guy has been all over this ordeal from the start, and to date I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe he isn't plugged in.

If this is true, there is one goal of the Franklin hire - Get us into the SEC or Big Ten. $12m per year starting in 2030 is right around the time the ACC is expected to crack, and right around the time we would need to be operating at our peak, and if it pays off, we'll more than be able to afford the increased salary.

Penn State is looking dumber and dumber by the day. First they swing and miss on Cignetti and Rhule, now Brohm is about to stay at Louisville, so this incredibly delusional fanbase has set its sights on Mike Elko and Marcus Freeman. Who do they think they are? Why would either of those guys leave A&M / Notre Dame for PSU?

They're going to overpay for a worse coach than James Franklin. Their new coach still won't beat OSU or Michigan, but he also won't lose any "big games" because they will no longer be playing in them.

Yeah, backloading the contract is the only solution that ever made sense. Obviously PSU will hate the idea, but the nature of the offset demands that it be handled that way. They can take it to court obviously, but anyone who understands calendars is going to see that Franklin, Sexton and VT (or other university) basically has to structure a deal that way or anyone associated with them will poopoo the deal.

Basically PSU is holding up the deal because of the buyout, or some details in it.

Not sure how "inside" this guy is, but he seems to be a pretty plugged in PSU fan, and seems to be one that was not happy about the Franklin firing (JF's burner???)

Last college coaching job was HC at Pitt, last NFL job in 2013 was as Special Teams Coach for Greg Schiano at Tampa Bay.

Since leaving coaching he has done TV primarily for Fox on NFL Kickoff, He also does Pro Football Weekly for NBC Chicago.

Likely not caught autocorrect but have you seen the man standing on the sideline.

Apparently has lost a ton of weight though after gastric bypass surgery.

Yeah I've been working for my company for almost 33 years now-almost all in the mortgage side and have actually DONE most every job in those years except Loss Mitigation(collections/foreclosure) and the accounting/finance/trades side); I've done origination, processing, underwriting, post closing, customer service rep, assumptions, escrow analysis, cashiering, loss draft(ins claim mgt), payoffs, IT development and troubleshooting, data quality, ad hoc research.

Basically acknowledged as the most broadly based expert on mortgage and the corporate history/tribal knowledge, where the bodies are buried stuff. Few people argue with me and most that do lose, lol. As such, I'm not hesitant to offer my opinion, question why something is done (worst answer ever - 'cause we've ALWAYS done it that way'! To which there are many replies, but one that JUST came to mind that I've never thought of before would be 'So...when you were a baby you peed and crapped in a diaper, so are you still doing THAT that way too?').
