We were ranked 7th.
Its one of the two running plays i love to watch the most with thr other being Quincy Wilson hitting Brandon Merrieweather and then hurdling him when WVU played Miami.
EDIT: dammit I just rewatched it and the Quincy play wasnt a run but a screen pass.
Johnson Wagner is great on air as well.
When they showed the score after the TD there was a 7 in front of VA TECH. What does that mean?/s
Yeah diaphragmatic is to diaphragm as diaphraginal is to diagphragina
Getting caught up on the afternoon game.
Bottom 7 - Miami really keeping the BC offense in check and up 7-2.
This forums ability to side piece a topic is nothing to sneeze at.
Fuck Matt Ryan
Well it is peak off season. Basketball and football are done. I honestly don't care about any of the other sports in the active discussion board. Baseball (bah), Wrestling (nope), golf (really?)
The world clearly needs an adjective that relates to the use of the diaphragm. I simply met that need.
Edit: apparently "Diaphragmatic" exists, but I like the uncomfortable nature of mine better
Ngl I had to google it but I did confirm that's not a real word. Interesting use there, Matt...
Am assuming Wade feels he has a friendly judge willing to deem them all eligible in court
It's Louisiana. Of course he does.
This is probably RMFW's best run, the TD against Alabama. He does four things really well...
1. He does a little sidestep to get to the hole, but he still hits the hole hard.
2. He has a great cut to the outside.
3. He races the defense to the corner and down the sideline.
4. He dives out of bounds, but reaching the ball in bounds and around the pylon for the TD.
Fantastic run all around.
Note that at :56, the guy on the telestrator draws it wrong. He shows the center (60) pulling and leading RMFW through the hole, but what he really does is get help from the right guard (68) in reaching on the DT (55), then sealing him to the left and out of the play. The right guard then climbs to the second level and blocks the linebacker (30), getting him just enough that RMFW can bounce outside of him.
Looking further, the right tackle (62) and tight end/slot receiver (88) double-team the left defensive end (97), keeping him out of the play. The left guard (70) and tackle (77) handle the right defensive tackle (62) and end (32) with ease, keeping them from affecting anything. The flanker on the right (26) pancakes his cornerback (24?), and the cornerback on the other side is just too far away. That leaves the two high safeties (4 and 27), and the middle (25) and right (28) linebackers that can stop RMFW.
The safety on the play side (4) charges up to run fit, but is out of place for the bounce outside, and RMFW races past him. The safety on the far side (27) never gets close enough, as I think he doesn't come far enough over, and is therefore too far to chase him down. That leaves the middle linebacker (25)--who is caught behind the right guard's block on the play-side linebacker--and the far-side linebacker (28), who eventually chases RMFW down and knocks him out of bounds. RMFW anticipates this, though, and rotates his body so that he can stretch his arms out around the pylon for the touchdown.
I originally thought this was a just a fantastic display of RMFW's skill and athleticism, and I'm not wrong about that, but it was heartening to see just how well blocked this play was. I hope we can get back to this.
Also note: This took waaay too long for me to analyze. I need to get back to work. I don't know how you do this, French. If I had to do your analysis articles, it would take me more than a week.
This tangent discussion of sneezing inside of the Spring recruiting thread (at a time when our recruiting is going better than it has for 15 years) is peak TKP. Well done everyone.
I love you all
Are there any good pitchers in the ACC? I keep seeing these football scores on this thread.
Just watching the multiview on ESPN (might be the greatest invention of my lifetime) for the CJ Cup. VT's own Brendon de Jonge is one of the studio analysts! Love that guy. Hope he makes a splash (like Wagner did) and keeps moving up the ranks.
I think it was more impressive that he hit it out. That ball was going to be under the hands and he basically fisted it out
That's game. GT faces the winner of the Miami/BC game this afternoon, will play again Saturday at 1pm.
if that was a slider it deserved to exit the solar system... that had very little break on it.
LSU is the poster Program for all the shitty things that NIL and lax transfer and eligibility rules have allowed to fester in college sports.
A group of coaches who have the collective integrity of a bucket of slime. Rosters constructed with Semi-pro mercenaries being paid through private funds, and a general indifference to any rules or academic standards.
The NCAA exists (maybe existed at this point?) to prevent College Sports from becoming semi-pro slop that no one really cares about. Does anyone really want to watch a bunch of NFL and NBA washouts beat up on 18 year-olds??
Is there a secret market out there clamoring for a Louisville Kings Vs. USC matchup??
The NCAA was meant to prevent rogue bullshit like this (and the Charles Bediako crap from Alabama) but the world apparently decided castrating the NCAA and creating a modern Lord of the Flies with guys like Lane Kiffin, Nate Oats, and Will Wade setting the "moral compass" was a better plan.
Fuckin Brilliant
you beat me to it. i had inguinal hernia surgery about 15 years ago... those sneezes are scary.
Or after hernia surgery.
That was a inside slider. And he still hit it out
we didn't throw center-cut fastballs down the middle like UVA is doing right now (as another center-cut fastball is thrown and immediately leaves the yard.... 16-10).

It means it was a long, long time ago. When I could still remember how that music used to make me smile.
