Buzz Williams had the hardest average Strength of Schedule (SOS) during his tenure at Virginia Tech, with an average of 7.15 across his five seasons.  Mike Young follows with an average of 6.81 over his seven seasons (including the partial 2025-26 season).  Seth Greenberg had the lowest at 6.01 over his nine seasons.

Buzz Williams' record at Virginia Tech, excluding his best season (2018-19: 26-9) and worst season (2014-15: 11-22), is 63-38, for a total of 101 games played. The winning percentage is (63 / 101) × 100 ≈ 62.38%.

Mike Young's record at Virginia Tech, excluding his best season (2020-21: 15-7) and worst season (2024-25: 13-19), is 94-69, for a total of 163 games played. The winning percentage is (94 / 163) × 100 ≈ 57.67%.

What's the purpose of a challenge if they still don't make the right call? Good guys up 6-5, but didn't change the ruling on a called out sliding into 3rd that looked pretty obvious to me that he was safe.
