almost did the same...bottom of the 6th, 6-1, bases loaded, no outs...then Layton puts the team on her back.

don't know what she'll do in her career but I'm glad she's a Hokie.

for nerds...

she's from Rayne...rice field country (double cropped with crawfish) and the frog capital of the world. i have a framed poster from their frog festival circa 1980.

Rayne is about 10 miles west of the eastern extent of what was the gulf coast tall grass prairie ("where the west begins"), arguably the most impacted ecosystem (99% converted) in the U.S.

HOKIES!

I guess you can all thank me. I turned it off when it was 6-1.

I mean, the NFL teams make a buttload of money no matter who coaches them. The Browns make bank even though they are the Browns.

100% you have to atl eaet pay the xfers the same. No one left PSU for VT for a cut. But coaches know this and I think Franklin planned accordingly and made sure VT bought in.

I'll admit that I was one chafed by the LSU thing until I read more about it. Believing we're better than them is looking pretty lame at this point. Capable of beating them, of course, but looking at the total picture, I just don't feel like we are the better team. I hope the Hokies prove me wrong, and I know they have the dog in 'em somewhere, but the better teams access that dog consistently.

C'mon HOKIES, LET'S GO!!!

Hokies drop to 47th in RPI

Somehow with today's loss and results of other games we dropped TEN spots in RPI. No way in hell a loss to 46 RPI Clemson should drop us that significantly. No combination of factors this late in the season should move anyone that much.

Drops us behind NC State, Texas State, Clemson, Troy and ECU. May mean the Hokies have to find a way to win two games in ACC Championship, hope both NC State and Clemson lose first round and those other bubble teams also struggle in conference tournaments.

Clemson winning only moved them up to 44

This is quintessential ACC. Notre Dame has a sweetheart deal. FSU/Clemson sued their way to a sweetheart deal (although it appears to might backfire on them). Now Duke has a sweetheart deal.

I hope Franklin sees this and convinces Babcock (or incoming AD) to find some sort of special deal for football. Maybe have an OOC game every year be at a neutral site, against another P4 and broadcast on Peacock, Apple, Amazon, whoever bids the best deal. Maybe the VT brand isn't big enough for that, but it would be a nice revenue source.

We decided against it. Not because we don't want to but because we decided we're coming back. The scale of the island doesn't really hit you until you're here. After 3 days of driving cross island a couple beach days to end it sounds promising.

Also I've been to Maui and Oahu when I was younger and maybe it's just my age but it's hard to beat the big island. Maybe not the best of everything but it certainly has everything you could want and as someone that's less big on crowds and tourist it just felt nice.

Somehow our true freshman is the one who pounds the zone and makes people swing the bat
