the faculty are not very happy about it

I can't imagine why. /s

Not against any of the faculty at all. I'm just cognizant of the fact that the (for the most part) faculty priorities most likely have academics over athletics, and the optics of injecting hundreds of millions of dollars into athletics over the next four years will probably rub raw the people who have been seeing potential academic funding areas being delayed or denied due to lack of funds.

Could you imagine if the YouTuber had the NCSU team injury likelihood set at 100. And then to believe its really happening. Or if they added 40 pounds on Stewart?

I have no reason to doubt the resolution is going to pass tomorrow, but I'll ask you all to please not shoot the messenger - I have received many very serious faculty concerns and it is my duty to convey them directly to the BOV. There are concerns from students, as well, that you will likely hear. Please remember that although I am personally generally supportive of this effort (with some skepticism and criticism about a few things), the faculty are not very happy about it. I'll articulate why tomorrow, if given the opportunity to speak.

You can all follow the livestream at https://bov.vt.edu/ starting at 9:30 AM tomorrow.

How do you know when a Dad Joke has matured...

When its full groan

How do you tell when a joke becomes a dad joke?

When it becomes apparent.

(edit: just saw this was a screen shot earlier in the thread. I am filled with shame)

The way the rushing success rates flipped in the 4Q has me a little concerned that the conditioning (maybe the players missing) is still not there. Couple this with opt outs and the fact that we are only 5 games in, and I have the feeling no lead will be safe down the stretch.

And likely illegal, but I'm glad I provided a source of humor for y'all. I really don't understand why that was done in the first place. Nerds with no life?
Next thing you know, I'll fall for the "granpa, help me get outta jail" phone scam, though I have no kids, right?
Thing is, I should have done some research to understand the thing before asking the community. We decided to ride the replay out to see what they were trying do, so not like we were fooled for an hour and a half, but like I said, I was truly worried about my brain for several minutes trying to reconcile memory with the "replay". Did I mention before that we're not internetters, don't do Youtube, etc? Never played a game online, don't know anyone under 20 who does. But now I know.

I will try to automate this more for next time but both teams had 10 drives (counting VT's end of half but not counting the kneel down).

VT had 5 scoring opportunities (crossing the opponents 40 yard line) and scored on all 5, with three field goals and two touchdowns. In the red zone they were 3/3 with a field goal and two touchdowns.

NC State had four scoring opportunities, and converted three into points (all touchdowns). All three touchdowns were red zone scores as well.

VT: 50% scoring drives (100% scoring success), 10% failure to convert a drive rate. Averaged 2.3 points per drive and 4.6 per scoring drive.

NC State: 40% scoring drives (75% success), 30% drive conversion failure rate. Averaged 2.1 points per drive and 5.25 per scoring drive.
