But along those lines, isn't it interesting that during all of the realignment that's been happening, no teams have dropped out of a power five conference unless the whole conference went under? (Big East)
The smartass technical answer is that the Big East/American didn't get dropped from the Power Five, they never got added to it.
That being said, I think Cincinnati, USF, and UConn are the schools that sort of got gypped in the realignment. All of the other old Big East teams moved to P5 conferences by the shift from BCS to CFP/P5 in 2014. I believe the American still had an automatic BCS tie-in in 2013.
Overall, a Power Five conference isn't going to be likely to allow a school to leave to drop down to another level (G5 or FCS), unless it's so bad that it's just a complete drain on resources and actively costing the conference money.
And the other part of the equation that complicates matters -- all of the other sports.

Give the SEC Miami for Kentucky or Tennessee? We get another good basketball program and a middling football program. How much travel money would the ACC teams save by not having to travel to Florida?
Granted we would lose some market exposure.

While I didn't need to stream it on Twitter, I was still wondering myself. I found it via the lightning bolt icon along the top of my screen. Although when I tried to help someone else find it on their phone, they didn't have that icon.
I think in most cases, folks just had to scroll down the feed until Twitter shouted in their face "HEY, WATCH FOOTBALL HERE!"

I had a dream a few months ago related to this. When I woke up, I could vividly remember that in the dream I was watching ESPN when they popped in with "Breaking News" and announced that the ACC was expanding to 20 teams (Notre Dame and 5 teams that I can't remember) and redoing the divisions for football into Divisions 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B, adding relegation/promotion between 1A and 2A and between 1B and 2B with the ACCCG matching up the champions of 1A and 1B. Never before or again have I had a dream so oddly specific.
