Del Ricco and Bruce Taylor were 6'1" ish and were as close (or closer) to Andrew Motu in height as to Tremaine Edmunds.

Del Ricco was taller at about 6'3", but those extra 2 inches may as well be a foot at Mike. The universe of 6'5" mike linebackers is pretty small.

My kid turns 4 this fall. Which, if you read through this thread, seems to be the magical number provided in most of the "kids should be at games" examples.

My kids go to all the home games since the youngest one was 4 years old.

I have been going to games since I was 4.

Still, because of who my kid is, I still won't take him to a game for at least another year or two. He doesn't have the patience to stay in one spot long enough to concentrate on the game. I just attempted Redskins training camp for the first time yesterday, and we barely made it through that. My goal this year is to get him to be still long enough to see a couple of drives uninterrupted.

But honestly, other people are not a factor in my decision to not bring my son to a game. I won't be able to enjoy the game, because he's not enjoying the game. And I'm not going to waste the money on three tickets if at least two of us won't be able to watch large portions of the game.

The alcohol or cursing factors never even crossed my mind, because honestly, I rarely see that many people who are that wasted during a game. I'm not going to be all offended if a few cuss words slip out, because there's a good chance several of them will be coming from me. If there is some obnoxious jackass spitting out nothing but cuss words, I'll probably be saying something regardless of if my kid is there or not.

You'd be better off letting your freshman practice against other freshman or walk ons than not practicing at all wouldn't you? If it were me or my son I'd be WTF? I can't understand how this helps. It's one thing to install discipline it's another to cut off your nose to spite your face.

Ya know what is most disturbing is how a few of you feel that you are in any way justified in telling me where I should and should not take my children. Sorry that's not your call to make. Second vast majority of hokie fans are considerate and tolerant on both sides of the obscenity debate. It's only the outliers on either side that are problematic. And both need to chill out and relax. This little thread got way out of hand way to quickly. But hey there 's only a few more weeks......

Any Russian medal is colored this year. Not saying these athletes did anything wrong because i don't know their history, but nothing they do will be their own without suspicion.

Agree that those kids are getting a rude awakening from what (who) they signed onto - maybe he's trying to blow it all up before rebuilding. They probably assume that it cannot get much worse than the last 3 years.

That all seems like a good way to instill some discipline in a program but he is sacrificing a whole hell of a lot by doing it. At the rate their current recruiting pace, they might crack the top 60 this year and I don't think they managed that last year. Next year they lose a lot and are going to be even worse, imo. I find it really difficult to believe that program gets out of dumpster fire status at that rate regardless of coaching approach.

Guessing it has something to do with conditioning and / or familiarity with the playbook. I'm sure those guys are doing base conditioning before they are allowed to join the team activities.

Whether this is the right way to go about it or not - I'm concerned he's attempting build basic football skills and accountability within that program (i.e., having freshman report for summer sessions) - something that hasn't been there since the late 90's. Hopefully he won't be able to turn things around and is run out of town but this is something that hasn't been seen in c-ville for decades.
