As much as I hate 'em, and I really, really do, I do wonder what will happen with the Bronco approach. The biggest problem at UVA in recent years is their lack of heart. They got no code! No gumption. He is really trying to break them of their "entitlement" mentality and get them to be gritty and all that stuff that has defined the game of football for it's entirety. I ain't skeered, just hoping that they don't buy into it to the point of competetiveness. I mean, if it isn't soft at the core, it isn't UVA football, and I don't want them to lose that special quality that makes them the lolhoos we all love to make light of. Not to mention the damage they could do to the nutsacks of every player they face in the Bronco era. Lord help us if they get all punchy with it.

SVP & Russillo video mailbags were the absolute best. Unfortunately ESPN removed most of them from YouTube ever since the show ended. A great time waster if you were ever bored out of your mind.

My hall never got in trouble for empty containers,

maybe because they weren't in our rooms.

"We all bought in because we're tired of losing."

I mean what did you expect at UVA? Shoulda committed here if he didn't want to lose a lot.

i guess that's debatable. if they come into the game 0-11 they don't really have anything to play for. I think beating them is more meaningful when they come into the game with a glimmer of hope to make it to the post season. Being the one obstacle they can't get over would be super satisfying. And we've done it before. And i was at the game. In their student section. and it was A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

As an Arsenal fan, I'm super happy to have been wrong about Leicester. I didn't think they could maintain it, but I'm glad that they're likely to win it since Arsenal has imploded.

He had to say like 4 syllables. I think you're forgetting just how hard it was to keep from giggling when the three of us realized we were all still schnockered.

So you guys don't like to hear Berman rasp "BACK, BACK, BACK, BACK, BACK....GOOOONE" into the mic?! Man, that's what makes the homerun derby so darn interesting. /s

Report coming Monday morning. Weather looks good, river's a bit low, but some rain might help. Either way, a couple of days floating the New will cure the spring blues. Might even float a day above Claytor and try to get a couple of post spawn walleye making their way back to the lake. Good smallmouth and musky action there as well. We'll see what the wind will allow.

Not at all, you did a great job and got your point across very nicely! Great article on something that has to be addressed. Thank you for sharing!!!!

Well, thanks for the report, nonetheless. Success at fishing is ephemeral at best, but it does sound like you had the right stuff, the right approach, just the wrong stretch of water. Oh well, hopefully your experience will serve you well in the Potomac. Big water, but the lures you have and the strategies we've discussed will work there. Again, unless you have good water to wade, it goes back to boats and/or guides and access, but I hope you'll keep us informed as to your progress. The Potomac has a lot of really good fishing, hope you find it.

My good buddy who was the #1 RB back in the early 90's told me about a year ago that VT has basically forgot about him, and won't even allow him to help them recruit players in the DMV. He has lots of connections too, and was frustrated because all those kids from that area were looking at VT as an afterthought. Maryland was killing it with his connections, as well as the Big 10 schools.

Not so sure about that. By now, most know that NBCSN is the place for those Sunday morning games. Can't put it on NBC cause of the Sunday morning programs. Interesting concept to throw it on USA. Those matches have been down to their NBCSN counterparts. Obviously, they are usually the fifth or sixth best game of the weekend in the USA slot, but eyeballs are lower. There's probably more potential eyeballs on USA than NBCSN, but NBCSN has firmly established itself as the home of the EPL. Of course there's a match or two elsewhere, but the majority are on NBCSN. Makes total sense as far as their branding is concerned to have the title tilt on NBCSN. For the day, I think USA may have garnered more eyeballs, but long term, I think the NBCSN move is right.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be limited to on-air talent. On-air talent has contracts that are usually just not renewed when they come up. This is how they let Simmons, Cowherd, and now Bayless go. But last October they laid off about 300+ employees to meet Disney's mandate, all of it mostly upper-level employees across the board. This included long-time behind the scenes people, a lot of whom helped build the network.

"With its dual revenue streams from affiliate fees and ad revenue, ESPN had long seemed immune to the problems impacting the rest of the sports media industry. But parent Disney ordered ESPN to trim $100 million from its 2016 budget and another $250 million in 2017, The Big Lead reported in September."

I hope you're right. I used the same argument that the baseball team needs more uniforms. A single road trip would require at least 3 sets of uniforms. I know a few people who attended the function where the uniforms were revealed and they all came away with the belief that they were on the way out.

I think that's why I used to love SVP & Russillo. Listening to them talk reminded me of the conversations my friends and I would have just sitting around our apartment in college. Same with Shutdown Fullcast and the Solid Verbal.
