I have to admit I am disappointed in this. Getting to meet the players and having them sign the Championship or Bowl game shirts from last season was the highlight for my kids, and something they still remember years later. I do not think it is possible to have too many recruits in town, but do not see how that is relevant. Send the players out, and let the recruits see how much the fans support the team.
The ACC refs better be working on their arms-straight-above-head stretches moving their asses and keeping up with our offense.
I think we owe it to them to get them this kind of regular stretching added to their routine.
As long as it's during our possessions.
I blame Hilgart. Clearly he's a little behind on the times. If he was programming to try to prevent these types of things then nobody would get hurt. After all it's just football.

They figure they can get better attendance. If they say festival, many will assume that the word immediately preceding it is "wine" or "zima".
Most contribute something, even if it's just sporting a "VT" sticker on their car, or watching a game on TV.
Maybe we can loop more of them in as Hokie Club members.
The last 3 years, I received my email notification of seat selection time on 4/15/13, 4/16/14, and 4/25/15 respectively, with a physical mailing following a few days later. I don't know when it will be going out this year but I'm assuming it will be soon, just based on past years' dates. Of course, that is just the email containing your assigned selection time and instructions. The actual selection process starts in early to mid-May and then continues into June. The higher your Hokie Club ranking, the earlier your selection time will be within that window. Hope that helps.
EDIT: I just found this on hokietickets.com: "Customers purchasing prior to May 10th will be assigned a selection time to select seats during the 2016 Seat Selection Process in June. Orders placed after May 10th will be assigned in the best location available after all participants in the Seat Selection Process are seated." Based on this, it sounds like it may be mid-May this year before they finalize seat selection times and not until June before actual seat selection begins.
I think people mistake an up tempo offense leads to a poor defense, I think the fear is there, if your offense is up tempo + poor it will weigh on your defense heavily.
But if your offense is strong and up tempo, you can have a strong aggressive minded defense especially when you get teams behind the 8 ball that have to take chances. Im really excited, to see Buds aggressive defense with a hopefully equally aggressive offense.
But just for reference to calm some fears: just look at Clemson, TCU, Louisville, Oregon minus last year, Ohio Stage, Ole Miss - they all run some form of uptempo offense and still have highly ranked defenses.
I think as we can relate, a poor offense, up tempo or not can kill a defense.
Exactly. They call that football?
My assumption is the seat surcharges will only apply to the "better" seating sections and you won't see a change in the SEZ. I have no inside info though. I'm not going to get too bent out of shape about any rumors until we know more information on the specifics.
Section 2 and 18 in the West stands have the family restrooms. I'm glad you asked so now I know where to aim to sit.
Injuries are gonna happen, regardless of how we're playing. Exhibits A&B - the last two seasons.
FWIW, here are the Hokie Club membership totals that were listed on the point priority sheets I've received the last few years:
Feb 2014: 9,759
Jan 2015: 9,700
Feb 2016: 9,897
Exactly. We practice fast so when we need to go fast, we can with no issues. It is a lot easier to slow down in the game than speed up without mistakes
The ACC refs better be working on their arms-straight-above-head stretches.
If other teams can get to the big games with this offense, I don't have a worry about us doing it.
not worried.. fuente has said many times he's not going to go up tempo just to leave the defense out to dry.
Don't know where I heard it but recently he said offense isn't going as fast as he would like it but no sense in rushing it when depth is an issue
The post implies something of value, so I'm sure he meant pie.
One way to get the percentage up is to kill off the older non-HC alumni. I'm just saying...
I'll be honest, I hadn't even noticed the price increase, but you're right, it went from $90/season to $120/season. To me, the difference of $5/game is neglible, but you're absolutely correct that's a pretty decent price hike from a pure percentage standpoint. I guess it also depends on one's HC priority because if you get a post anywhere near the stadium, IMO it's a pretty good deal. Parking passes are also the one thing that consistently sell above face value on the secondary market.
That sort of make sense, since it would run afoul of IRS regulations to provide something of value for a donation and to try and allow the donor to deduct that donation.
It's just odd to call it a "seat donation", if it's really just part of the cost of the seat.
I am sure we will see some struggles on defense if we go 3 and out a few times but I think we will see more sustained drives as we get more plays in the 5 yard range instead of 2 yards after a huddle. If we can do that, our defense may get more rest than last year.
"The fans will have a chance to see us work on Saturday," said head coach Bronco Mendenhall. "There will be football mixed in
LMAO
$50 for a game worn jersey?! I want a VT game jersey but I can't justify dropping over $100 on a jersey. I guess that's what happens when the jersey is used for playing actual football.

I think one of the points being made by the OP is that we are getting WAY more reps in practice than usual.
I don't think that there is any doubt that if you run 100 plays, you have a better chance of being injured than if you ran 50.
