Make the sign of the cross and load up your silver bullets. He's just a silver tongued devil.

Isn't the corps design in such a way that everyone has an opportunity to leave after their second year if they decide it's not for them?

Unless they've changed significantly in the last 10 years...

If you quit in the first six weeks, you have to drop out of school and re-enroll the next semester. If you quit during the first year, you have to pay back uniform costs. (That right there is what got me through freshman year. After that, I was too invested to leave.)

Beyond freshman year, you're pretty much free to leave.

Now, if you're in ROTC, there's an extra set of rules there, depending on how much of your college tuition the military is picking up.

Speaking of Andy Bitter, I miss Kyle Tucker. Bitter has never come close to what we had before with our beat writer. And Mark Berman has never been worth my time - or Buzz's, evidently.

Nice interview but I can really only hear that dude wheeze breathing into his microphone the whole time.

Tweeted that Buzz keeping the media waiting for nearly 2 hours after a game (loss to WVU, I believe) was a "jerk move." Other beat writers were more vocal. Berman tweeted every few minutes about he was still waiting at [insert time here], in addition to all the other trollish crap we're used to seeing from him.

To me, the title of this thread is backwards. Berman has been a jerk towards VT for a long time and never has anything good to say. Basically comes off as "you should be thankful that I am doing this job because it's so awful and hard to do." Bitter made one comment, though I agree it was unnecessary and he was not at all involved in the situation, but his colleagues were.

Dumb question, been busy and haven't been around a ton recently. What exactly did Bitter do to inspire people's frustration? He has always seemed like a class act to me and seems to do things the right way.

Yeah if you spend enough time around the peripherals of Virginia Tech news you quickly come to find out exactly what everyone thinks of him. Dude is a black mark on the journalistic profession. This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Seems to be his general attitude towards everything.

"I'm not entirely concerned with a game at Bristol with 150,000 people in attendance. I'm more concerned about a Thursday night game in Pittsburgh with only 20,000 in attendance."

I like that. Shows he knows not to let his guard down and more importantly not let the players think a certain week is a "gimmie". Of course past two years v Pitt they shouldn't think that game is a gimmie anyways. But I like the message.

Berman has aspired to the ranks of a sudo reporter for Roanoke Times. The huge paper located in the SW mountains of Virginia that once had a picture of cows on the front page of the newspaper during a world crisis. That may or may not be true but you get their relevance in the world. ZIPPO, NADA!

Nice so Fuente already has a record of beating him. Let it continue in Blacksburg.

We had LTG (R) Jerry Boykin come speak my Junior year I believe. Former Delta commander and Hokie alum. Played with Frank Beamer on the team.

edit: 02 grad

maybe it just me, but he kinda looks like Brendan Dassey's old lawyer, Len Kachinsky

Is he actually gone (I.e. Not participating in spring practice)? Or is this just a rumor?

Hopefully he's just contemplating and will stay. I see him as having a huge year in the new system.
