While talking with a firearms expert about how someone could accidentally fire a pistol while cleaning it he stated, that it most commonly occurs while the owner is clearing it.

For instance, while pulling back the bolt to clear the breach, the hammer or bolt is not completely retracted, allowing the hammer to fall home because it is not retained due to a partial rack or:

the individual does not fully pay attention and the magazine is not ejected prior to racking. A round is ejected from the breech but the first round from the mag is loaded into the pistol and the trigger is pulled to release tension on the spring so disassembly can begin.

Or, a single round is left in position in a revolver when it is unloaded.

Which is why we are trained to always examine with your eye that the breach is empty while the magazine is in view on the table.

Sorry. I just felt like talking for a bit.

The guy who makes these is amazing with his content and was featured on ESPN for a while. Apparently, he got in trouble for his Halloween skit where a kid was dressed as him and said F*** Nebraska. The brass at ESPN got pissed and he got real quiet real quick.

You're right, the eras are very different. For instance, those nasty boy Detroit teams that won back to back titles probably wouldn't have done as well today. Half of their team would get kicked out for flagrant fouls. They would hard foul then and maybe get a personal. Its a bit different now.

Really?! Dang it. I was just starting to get excited about this basketball team.

Really? I seem to recall the person you didn't pick being Finals MVP of the three they won together...

It is a crime in that jurisdiction to recklessly handle a firearm.
That it discharged while not intending it to discharge is proof it was recklessly handled.

Apparently, it is a crime there to have an accident that involves a firearm.

I disagree. I hated MJ when he played, but dude was a damned beast. And he played in a different/more physical era of the NBA. Lebron is great, but I would put some oft he guys in the 80's and 90's ahead of James.

I am not understanding why he is charged with a crime? Was he drunk or showing off, or was this an honest to goodness accident?

Eh Lebron James does things that no one as ever seen before. As far as a basketball player goes Lebron will top this list out by the end of his career.

I didn't take into consideration this pretty big break we have right now between games. We have 8 days to rest up and get ready to go to Miami, and gear up for the rest of the season. I'd like to think that it will benefit us. I guess we'll see.

I would argue that all of those top 10 guys are "forces of nature".

I'm OK with him being 12th. He was nowhere close to the defender that Jordan was, which bumps him down that list.

Olajuwon was better than Shaq.

And for everyone complaining about no Kobe, who are you taking off? Duncan, not Kobe, is the best player of that generation.

Kobe, currently, should most definitely be ranked ahead of LeBron. Maybe not in 5 years, but certainly for now.
