Nicolas will become the 48th Hokie to play in the event and the first one since defensive back Rashad Carmichael participated in the 2011 game.
Logan Thomas played in 2014. I feel like there have been more since 2014 too.
Edit: Fuller and Gayle were invited in 2014 too - don't remember if they actually played due to injuries.
Is that the same stadium as our bowl game?

# | 2016 OT/DE Silas Dzansi Commits to the Hokies Immediately After Receiving Offer That comment:

From this TKP article that you are commenting on:
He says he'll be enrolling at Fork Union Military Academy for the fall semester to "get my test grades up" and refine his game before heading to Tech in the spring.
(Edit: didn't see this editor's note before I posted)
Ed. Note: This post has been updated with quotes from Dzansi.
They've been hot since Boeheim came back.
He's a big man and wants to be a hokie what more could anybody want?!?!

Straight from every single Hokies media guide I've ever seen Granted, it's directed toward media types, but still...
While the full name of the school is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, the school
is commonly referred to as just "Virginia Tech." Founded in 1872, as Virginia Agricultural and
Mechanical College, the university changed its named to Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1896.
Fans of the athletic department, as well as media covering the Hokies, shortened the name to VPI,
but it eventually became Virginia Tech. The "State University" was added on in 1970 to bring the
official title to where it is today.
Those covering Hokie athletics are asked to refer to the university as simply "Virginia Tech." Do
not use Virginia Tech University, VPI and SU, VPI&SU, VT or VA Tech. These are not recognized
names and should not be used.
I will admit, "Virginia Tech University" is more or less just funny to me at this point. But I did want to point out that it is officially incorrect usage.
I love "VaTech".
Wow... around the 40 sec mark in the tape, he rushed the QB and forced a bad throw for an interception. He then proceeds to pancake one of the OLine dudes that was chasing the play.... I LIKE this OT and his athletic play!
My 4Runner performed admirably on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Kudos, to the Toyota engineers.
Thanks for the link.

Great info
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!! WTG #5!!!!
Ahhh...its like the "Instant Commit" perk in NCAA 14....love it.
I looked at his height, 6'5", and thought "that is a little short" since we will soon have a second 6'9" OT.
Yes, I remember reading about it. Truly awesome - even though Cam didn't know the story behind it before - seems truly fitting that he received the ball.
The story of this particular kid s really awesome/sad.
Will try and find a link, but the little man was attending the game with his uncle. His father had always promised to take him to a game, but passed unexpectedly. His uncle ended up getting tickets for that game.
For Cam to give the kid a ball more or less randomly because that's just what he does, talk about an amazing moment he will remember forever.
I do find myself becoming a huge Cam Newton fan, for a myriad of reasons, not least of which for what he does for kids for what appear to be completely genuine reasons.

Did he transfer after the game this year when Cardel and the others posted all those tasteless comments?

# | 2016 OT/DE Silas Dzansi Commits to the Hokies Immediately After Receiving Offer Its on the 247 article. Bolts are free if you have the 247 app, Andy Bitter is also reporting it citing the 247 article
I wonder how many times Fuente had to save and reload to get it.
I believe it's just a greyshirt. I don't recall anyone saying anything about academics, so I think it's simply to help him beef up and develop a bit.

At least I had Matt Ryan puking up his guts and beating Boston College in the ACC Championship to fall back on after that Thursday night game in 2007. We never got another shot at Hansbrough. Our last memory of him against Tech was him prancing down the floor after making that stupid lucky shot in the ACC tournament.
