But when you think of H'town you think of Texas-sized. When you think of Texas-sized you think of Texas-sized budgets. Plus, H'town is in a major met stat area. Do we really have a larger budget (even for football) than H'town???

Really? I'm very much on the dissenting side of this one. There has been improvement, but there has also been a lot of competition that has relied a lot more on the rushing game than the passing game. Using the ECU as the demarcation point, we've won the games vs. run-first teams (with the lone exception of Pitt where the loss was purely on the offense that couldn't get out of its own way), and we've lost vs the pass-happy. I wouldn't say we've improved, we've just won games against teams who's offense played in to the strengths of our D.
Love it! I say keep it too. And how about the foreshadowing to renaming the field...

He seemed to get it done just fine this year. Was pretty fun to watch him continue to coach that team into a winner after hearing everyone crying about it the Monday after.

French, I just want to thank you for this. I don't want RichRod, specifically because I think we can do much better and I think that he would tear apart the fan base rather than unite us. I have been waiting for this type of cogent anti-RichRod argument, but until now have been seeing mostly wailing and gnashing of teeth. I just wanted some good football reasons to help confirm how I was already leaning. Thanks for spelling it out from a more technical perspective.
