Please, I was born and raised in western NY. Being a lifelong Bills, Sabres, and Mets fan is way worse than dealing with the Rangers. You only think you know suffering!

Agreed. I just find it interesting that Herman helped to convince Urban Meyer to let his offense evolve beyond just using the QB as a battering ram all the time. It may seem like his offense at Florida and now at OSU are essentially the same, but there have been some pretty significant additions.
I like our chances as long as Williams promises to hold the football like that on pass plays.

Yes, BUT his still mixes it up. If you watch Houston, it also has elements of that spread single wing and uses QB power/power as key components.
With Rich Rod, it is varieties of the zone read... BUT it is almost exclusively zone read or inside zone with the tailback lead blocking for the QB.

# | Houston is serious about keeping Herman, Board approves $3 million salary proposal I'd argue that ~40% of Texas are Longhorns, ~20% A&M, ~15% TT, ~10% Baylor, ~5% TCU and ~10% other schools.
I have very little doubt in my mind that Texas (UT) owns at least 85% of the state's college football fanbase. I know there are many football programs in Texas but the state bleeds burnt orange, even with these underwhelming seasons they've been having.

NCAA rules place a limit on the number of people allowed in the team area on the sideline:
The team area shall be limited to squad members in full uniform (see Appendix D) and a maximum of 60 other individuals directly involved in the game. All persons in the team area are subject to the rules and are governed by decisions of the officials (Rule 1-1-6). The 60 individuals not in full uniform shall wear special team area credentials numbered 1 through 60. No other credential is valid for the team area.

I'm not sure how this applies to former players who are guests on the sideline, but I would guess that the "directly involved in the game" part of the rule isn't enforced/monitored and that the team has a limited number of team area credentials that they save for former players, donors, contest winners, etc.

Considering the P5 bias, that's not bad. If Houston were to stay in the top 25 multiple years in a row and Texas keeps failing to make a bowl, things will probably change.

Yep.
I mean, I get it, vtkey thinks its insulting to think that VT is a better school now than when he was there, but that doesn't mean VT was a bad school at any point, either. But the fact remains that the exposure we got from having a good football program and having our name out there made more people take notice that we were there, caused more applications to come in, which forced the university to expand. Hell, I graduated nearly 10 years ago, and I'll openly admit that VT is a better school now than it was when I was there, and it really is because of the football program. Getting us into the ACC got us linked up with so many research institutions in the region and has only expanded our footprint.
VT was a very good school before Beamer came to town. But, because of the success he had, and who our peers became athletically, and the exposure we got nationally, we're set up to go from a good school to a great school. That wouldn't be happening if we were still wallowing in independent begging to be included at the big boy table athletically.
