I second this. The glittery lights, fancy speakers, sideline celebs and Rock Hero bands are nice...but at the end of the day, I just want our boys to play lights out ball. Win. Win. Win!
Sir Urban Meyer thinks the term "Urban Legend" refers to him
What? Too good.
Anyone else think its funny that they keep bringing up how bamas defense is getting smaller and more athletic? Anyone think smart is taking notes from bud and his defense? I just think its kind ironic that big bad physical bama is trying to go more finesse and the excuses Saban and smart have come up with to avoid saying they were out coached.
Let me preface this by saying I have mad respect and love for LT.
I don't think he has the skill set for an NFL QB. You could not ask for a better environment and a more patient coach with a developmental prospect that what Arians provided in Arizona. If LT was going to turn the corner and become the QB we all wanted him to be, it would have happened in Phoenix. It just wasn't in the cards.
And I think he had the skill set to be a lethally dominant TE. Bryan Stinespring, for as inept an OC as he was, is a legitimately great TE coach. He could have turned LT into a beast.
The question now is, is it too late? And if it's not, is it too bitter a pill to swallow for LT to accept that our coaching staff wasted his time for his career at Tech?
Rain tomorrow and Prolly early Sunday will clear out Sunday evening leading to a GORGEOUS MONDAY
I also wonder how many kids can say their first ever pass as a college QB was a 40yd TD.
Briles had for sure called it off by that point and I doubt he really expected it to connect.
Also in a non surprising turn of events we have our first FCS over FBS game of the year with Fordham beating Army 37-35 at West Point.
Next up for Frodham, ISIL.
I won't beleave it till I see it.
Whenever I roll out of bed.
We better freakin' win.
If they hadn't tanked our QB coaching, he might have actually progressed as a QB, and made an NFL roster higher than 3rd string.
This makes me sick.
No jokes, no memes, no sarcasm. If Bryan Stinespring and Mike O'Cain hadn't tanked our QB recruiting, Logan would have been a TE for us. Say what you will, but LT had to be talked into the switch to QB. It was not what he had in mind during his recruiting, and had we had a serviceable QB on the roster, LT would have been catching passes, not throwing them.
And if that had been the case, I can't help but feel that LT would have been Bucky Hodges before Bucky Hodges was Bucky Hodges.
No use crying over split milk, but I can't help but feel that LT was the last, worst victim of the O'Cainspring debacle. Thank god that era is behind us..
You have Hokies driving from up there, too buddy. But $12 is a deal for driving the WV turnpike in a sports car.
I want it to happen so bad...but i just don't see it happening. Maybe there will be a new intro with metallica or perhaps an intro then they play sandman on screen. Idk
Denard got cut also by Jacksonville a week or so ago
Well a crack back on a CB is a far cry from an NFL DE or LB face up on the line of scrimmage
Boise State missed their first extra point. #sources say it was blocked by the spirit of one of the bird casualties of their demon blue turf.
Anyone ever try the Erie Brewing Co. Rail Bender Ale? It's sooo damn good refreshing taste low IBU and great with cigars. I just wish it wasn't soo strong at 6.7%. It is ridiculously good though. I'll bring some down to drop off at the TKP tailgate.
It is a great observation. I always heard that called "slow playing" the option. Coach Foster mixes in some slow playing options against Georgia Tech to disrupt the timing and pitch relationship between the quarterback and the pitch man. In terms of it being a strategy against speed option, I think a big factor is that teams don't run speed option often except as a change up these days. That said, I will ask Chris Brown and some friends still coaching and see what their opinion is on the topic.
Now, with the read option game, lots of teams try to slow play the read option. Against a big back like Elliot and bigger tailbacks playing QB like Barrett, Jones, and Miller, that is death. You don't want to give those guys a step downhill before committing to them or they are going to slice you up all game long.
The Boise game hit me hardest because it was so in our grasp. I hate Boise State (especially at the time) because they only played one real game a season and the rest of their season was garbage but they still were at the top of the polls (and their surf turf which is such a joke). We were their ONE actual game that year and we couldn't get it done. Not to mention if we hadn't lost that game, we probably wouldn't have lost to JMU and then had a perfect regular season...or the fact that the coolest uniforms we have ever worn will always remind me of this game and make me sick to my stomach. I hated to "lose" to Michigan but we were lucky to be in that bowl in the first place and I felt like we did win it in reality. Michigan just didn't hit as hard.
Sandsman's response is pure gold. And also a good point. Roadies gotta sleep somewhere too.
I had great teachers like Lou Wacker and Fred Selfe.

Anyone nowadays that roots for the pathetic team referred to as the Lake Show, might actually not be a total front runner and could be described as a borderline loyal fan.
