I highly doubt that. Out of the 5 autopick teams in the Bud Foster conference, 4 of them ended up with benches consisting of:
6 RBs and 1 Kicker
6 RBs and 1 WR (possibly the only reason he didn't end up with 7 RBs is ESPN's hard cap of 8 RBs drafted)
5 WRs and 2 RBs
5 RBs and 2 WRs
I didn't take note of which team was the 5th autopick team, and the results didn't include any of the positions getting fully maxed out like the rest of them, so I'm not sure who that 5th was.

Appreciate the inside scoop. My only source is a sister in law (junior at tech) who only knows the football players she meets at parties and doesn't know what a 1st down is. Her and all her friends care more about their Instagram photos than Hokie football I'm sure. I worry for future generation.

The feeling is definitely different for this game. You're absolutely right about the declining interest. I've noticed that for the past three years the interest has faded from year to year. It spiked when we beat anOSU last year, but dwindled again quickly. I've been amazed this week because I'll talk about VT football with anyone who will listen to me and I've been impressed with the knowledge about the game from people that normally wouldn't care. If we pull off this win, it'll have a huge ripple effect with the students.

From someone who hasn't been a student on campus in quite some time, how is the buzz around this game? Are students genuinely excited for football? It seems the last few years, student fans have fallen victim to the digital age. The anticipation and tenacity just doesn't seem to be there for the students anymore. That said, winning would probably fix that.
