How have they not even lost scholarships??? At least receive what USC did. Crush that program and bring back to where they belong.....although they are only like a smidge above where they were when we joined the ACC.

I believe the delusional comments come from the OSU fans that believe that you guys will win by 50 or whatever. A tough fought game, yes. I see no more than a 14 point winner in this. Same as last year. Early on I didn't think we'd really have a chance to win but would still be able to keep it respectable. I'm getting more and more confident however. I don't know if that's the practice reports that I've been reading or the multiple moscow mules I've had tonight. But again, VT has nothing to lose, unless those delusional fans are proven right and we pull a 2007 LSU and embarss ourselves. It's nice to hear level-headed fans on the other side though. Obviously you guys are still the favorites and I'm not sure we'll win but I do believe it will be competitive and we'll have a chance to win. If we lose I won't be heartbroken. We can settle the tie-breaker in the National Championship game.

We have the ability to win them all but we will probably win 9 or 10 games. The funny thing is I think we beat OSU either way. Like I said last year their O plays to our D's strengths. Maybe I'm wrong but keeping my fingers crossed!!

He was a different animal in those last 4 games.

I disagree. He was finally able to be productive in those last 4 games, but I didn't see a drastically different J.C. Coleman. I saw the same J.C. Coleman who was finally getting his chance under some improved circumstances. Most notably, he wasn't subjected to the high-frequency running back rotation that didn't allow anyone to get into a rhythm, and he was running behind an offensive line that was finally starting to develop something resembling consistency and cohesion.

I have zero doubts that if Coleman continues to get the volume of carries he was getting at the end of last season, he'll continue to be productive, but I still don't think his ceiling is high as Edmunds, Shai, or possibly McMillan. I hate to sound down on the guy, I'm really not, but I also don't really buy the "he was a different back at the end of last season" narrative. I think a lot of people were just too quick to throw him under the bus when the running game was floundering.

Someone, maybe french maybe alum, equated it to the battle of bull run (i believe) where the people came out to see a "sporting fight" between the north and south with picnic baskets and all. What they saw was the reality of war and death. People ran aghast of what they had just seen in the midst of a union retreat. Sort of like how buckeye fans entered the game and then left (although to our nice buckeye fans on this site, I'm sure you guys didn't retreat out of the stadium but you get my point....yank).

I'm just going to guarantee a loss to UNC. We play GT the week before and they run a very similar offense to Navy.

I have it on good authority that you just can't prepare to play the week after Navy.

I would be so okay with this

Because now were potentially looking at playoffs, pending the outcome of the acccg

"Teaser: You need to come to the TKP Happy Hour to get detailed thoughts."

You have no idea how much it hurt me to see you guys will be meeting in my beloved Arlington.
McKinley, Swanson, Yorktown grad...used to play putt putt a block from where you are meeting. Sigh...been a long, long time...but I'm a thousand miles away. Have a blast.

I don't think we should over look JCC again. I don't see him sliding down the depth chart before the season begins. He was a different animal in those last 4 games. He's now had a whole offseason to get even stronger and now he has confidence.

if you refer to masons comment above I guess what I'm getting at is that no one really stayed in for a full series the rotation was still there and no one was able to get in a groove. overall number of carries does not mean there isn't a crazy rotation going on. I love seeing carries cause it means we're trying to run. getting pulled every series or few plays is counterproductive. jcc said at the end of the year it was nice cause he could get in a groove. yes he was getting a bunch of carries but he wasn't getting pulled in and out of the game

I see offense being good, only if they can show the versatility to score quickly when needed. I like ball control as much as the next person, but with these other team's offenses set up to score quickly, we need to be able to answer in kind...when needed.

Glad I'm not the only one skeptical about his size. I see Brewer downtown all the time. That guy is small. Nail on the head. 5'10" 175 TOPS.
