At this point, they really need to lose academic accreditation as the only recourse on the academic side, and the death penalty on the athletic side. This would completely destroy UNC as an university, but they have been cheating and caught cheating for more than a decade. Even when under scrutiny, they have continued to cheat.

The questions is the Death Penalty grounds for the ACC to kick them out of the conference with no penalty? Then they can either grab Notre Dame or another school to fill the spot.

INB4 Cardale Jones represents the UNC players at a hearing to inform the NCAA that "they ain't come to play school."

On a serious note, isn't LIC grounds for the "death penalty?"

You make it sound like Williams got a full series, then Shai did, then Williams did... that's not what happened. Williams and Shai rotated in and out almost constantly. Look at the first touchdown drive, they alternated carries multiple times. You don't get someone in a groove by giving them a carry, taking them out for a play or two, then putting them back in the game, then taking them out, then putting them back in.

I think it is obvious to everyone (including Hall of Fame coach Frank Beamer) that the running back rotation prevented backs from getting into the flow of the game even when injuries weren't a factor.

Durkin looked good in the spring running the football during scrimmages. I don't like the idea of your second string QB being the running option, if he gets hurt things could get ugly fast. It makes way more sense for Durkin to be the change of pace quarterback.

I think Twin Peaks wins the self-aware foreshadowing though. Character says "I'll see you in 25 years," show comes back 25 years later. Can't wait for that OT thread come next spring.

Don't discount Durkin. If his throwing gets on par, he will be neck and neck with Lawson for the starting gig. People think I am nuts, but you watch. First one that gets the pre-snap reads and then makes accurate post snap reads and good throws will be "the guy." People have kind of forgotten about Durkin, but he is the kind of athlete you find a role for.

Seriously people, it's not literal. Other factors can change as well.

Yeah, and this is assuming health. I think we're better than 11 teams on our schedule. But I also think our 5'10" 165 lb QB is likely to get seriously hurt and I'm not sure have anyone else who can win a game at QB.

Glad you're following. Indiana beat Missouri in September, yet a main tenant of the Buckeye assured blowout argument is that September games mean essentially nothing. So we can ignore that anyway.

Yes, the Wake game was in November. It's been suggested that VT's struggles in that game combined with anOSU's defense improvement is evidence that VT won't be able to score. I pointed out that if the Wake game matters so much for VT's 2015 offense, shouldn't a game even later in the season against Indiana count against OSU's defense? As I said, that was the most points scored by Indiana over their final 6 games. Or does that just mean the other 5 teams that held them to fewer points have top 5 defenses and OSU is barely behind the curve at #6?

I'd rather also but that's not the real world of FBS scheduling, the AD is restricted by the ACC and other teams.

If Trey Edmunds stays healthy, then he is the man this year. He is a big back, that does a lot of the little things well like pass protection etc. The line he will run behind this year should be on a different level. Because of his different running style, his speed does not get the credit. He ran AWAY from Alabama defensive backs who were hauling ass after him. They looked faster because of how they ran, but they lost ground on him. He covered that 77 yards in a HURRY. Clinton-Dix lets up as Trey was leaving him.
Speed is not everything for a tailback, and the fastest back is not the best, but hes' very fast and I think he will made himself quicker and worked on acceleration since '13. He has to feel more confident with the added strength. Even though he redshirted, his age was that of a true freshman in '13. He has matured physically, and will be able to carry the weight well, probably better. Give him the ball and he runs for 1,000+ and 10+ TD's. He is dangerous catching the ball as well. It is nice knowing we have some good back ups behind him.
