One commentor pointed out something that I find particularly overlooked in every analysis I've read of the game thus far is:

There's another Buckeye starter from last year's team who's missing this year and lot of people don't seem to take into account: Tom Herman. I don't think for a second that the Buckeye offense is going to pick up right where they left off in January while breaking in a new play-caller in the booth. Mistakes will be made, as they always are in the first game of the season. New OC for tOSU going against Bud Foster will be interesting.

Herman may have figured out how to combat Bud's system with inferior personnel by the end of the year, but Ed Warriner is not Tom Herman. First look at a new OC against Bud's system, advantage VT.

I want to say its new for this season. But I do think he has been separated from SI since at least the end of last season.

And they are reigning national champs and #1 in the nation. Every others schools "delusion" is OSU's current reality.

I like his picks (not just because he picks VT) but finding someone other than FSU or Clemson to win the other side. I would think Duke may lose a game more than that, but that's pretty close and it's wise to always round up with Cutcliffe. He's right about NCSU, this will be a year where they are a possession short in a number of their breakthrough games. They are getting better, but 8-4 is about right.

How about we don't get offended at every homeristic comment that's posted in a fan site? Eleven Warriors is a large website with a lot of Ohio State fans. Most of the forum is pretty reasonable, there are sour apples in every one of these types of sites.

And I bet a lot of y'all will be as confident after whalloping Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon. I know I would be (for better or worse).

I stopped reading over there. They're the defending national champs, so let the homers be homers and say ridiculous things. Talk is cheap, anyhow. We will see how it plays out in Blacksburg. With the ridiculous amount of hype that has been built up around OSU, it's almost like anything short of absolute domination is failure for them. They have everything to lose, while we have nothing. I look forward to Labor Day.

But I'm here to tell you now: Beamer will bounce back in a big way this fall, at the very least winning the bunched-up Coastal Division and possibly the league crown as well.

Coordinator Bud Foster will field one of the best defenses of his already distinguished tenure, led by All-America candidates like CBs Kendall Fuller and Brandon Facyson and defensive linemen Dadi Nicolas and Luther Maddy. (Facyson and Maddy missed most of last season.) And for once, the Hokies will field a competent offense, thanks to the improvement of QB Michael Brewer and more production from a backfield decimated by injuries last year.

Ah, thanks I will fix that. Seems like he was with SI for forever, still getting used to him being with Fox Sports.

Vtech's receivers and O-line are very suspect!

hahaha our o line yeah.. the receivers are sophomore's that absolutely lit up the ACC.

Most of the comments are pretty logical in all honesty. You have a few guys going over the top, and a few more pointing out the flawed logic.

To be honest, doesn't look all that different from a typical thread over here. I like the 11W guys for the most part.
