Hope they have enough bubblegum to keep him occupied in heaven. R.I.P. Rowdy

Once JT got into a rhythm later in the season he was pretty unflappable and showing he is a starting DIV 1 QB. He's real good at developing plays and putting the ball at the right spot at the right time. 12 Gauge is a bit less polished but a more bruising runner, he's the short yardage goal line guy because ehe is a running as well as a passing threat and will hit you right in the mouth and drag you 5 more yards, whereas the other two are more of a make you miss runner.

I agree your O needs to be better but our D improved significantly since we played you and I think it is better overall this year than last year at this tim; even without Bosa. Washington is a beast and will cause you problems on the line.

I doubt we get cute. We're going to run the ball on the backs of Zeke and Samuel, with some jets weeps and passes to keep your D honest. Do we try a trick play? Maybe, but if we can establish a running game we'll ride that as long as it works. UM is one of the best coaches in college ball right now, and I'm confident he'll play to our strengths without resorting to gimmicks. I think he'll test your backfield to see if it is as good as advertised; but we're a run first team so I expect him to run 60 - 70% of the time; unless for some reason your pass protection falls apart.

As for not being settled on a QB, that's a function of having 3 really good ones, not because none has stood out as a playmaker. That's a lot different then wondering which of 3 guys will be good enough to win.

I saw this 2 days ago.

Depressed me quite a bit more than I would have expected. Always liked Piper. He was the first "heel" I ever saw that I couldn't help but root for.

The NFL argument doesn't make sense. The fact that our DB go more frequently than DL is a function of scheme, not coaching ability. Our DL guys are tweeners for most NFL positions; they get shifted around or don't work out and that's been a main knock on our program in terms of DL recruiting for a while. Doesn't mean Wiles isn't a good coach. His guys put up monster numbers at the college level, as we're currently seeing.

Also remember that while the secondary and the line play complementary roles, Bud's philosophy is always to take the run away first, and that's where Wiles fits in so well. He knows how to get his guys to do that. Bud wouldn't radically alter his stance after all these years of success. Of course, the line can commit to a certain style of play with the knowledge that they have a great secondary that can play on an island if needed, so it's a bit of a chicken-vs-egg argument, but stopping the run is generally where the strategy starts.

We were close to you for the game

"We" only included one Hokie fan! (Which is most likely why as we left the stadium and our surroundings got drunker and drunker on the way to the car, I still felt generally safe!)

Ohio State hired their DC at the time, Luke Fickell to be their HC like 5 years ago after the whole Tattoogate with Tressel, but they were God awful. Got canned after only one year. However they still kept him on staff, and he's been the co-DC and LB coach ever since. So yeah, it has happened and uh, can we say worked out pretty well for the Buckeyes?

That's from the first week of November, does Blacksburg get a 6 plus inch snow that early? He also will still have to be a student during the height of winter. My in laws lived in Minneapolis until last year, it's a lot of snow and it snows a lots of days.

That's cool. John knows what he's doing.
I'd like to know more about their program.

We won't be playing in conditions like that most likely but that picture isn't far off from a Blacksburg winter. (Can't see the temp but we have some nasty wind)

That looks straight out of the jetsens.

I agree this is how it gets started. It is unfortunate because these people really dont have a clue. They are probably just mad about somebody who couldnt play dead that didnt get an offer somewhere down the line. VT hasnt done anything unfair to any students from these schools and UVa hasnt done anything special for them either. If you are anti-VT you wont fit in anyway. More than likely you dont have what it takes to be successful and work hard to do it.

OSU still is not settled on a QB.
JTB was easily aggitated and lost his cool early last year. CJ is great but lacks mobility and has never been harrased by a VT defense. His long ball will be picked if our front 8 can get pressure.

As far as our offense, they have to be better. Yes last year there were bounces that went our way, but OSU had the home field and every other advantage. It is important to score first.

I think Urban Meyer is a baby, and will try too many trick or gimmick lineups to help him cope with last year's loss.

I think OSU is planning to win and will get too cute for a bud foster defense. Meyer will lose this game on playcalling alone.

Mark it down.

I'd also like to know if there will be a TKP tailgate. I'm bringing anOSU fan. Be gentle.
