There's a very good chance we'll go into next season with arguably deeper talent at the receiving positions than we have ever had on the roster at one time. Can't wait to see what these guys are able to do with Lawson down the road.

Even HUDL (which doesn't he setup himself?) has his name as Deablo Divine, not Divine Deablo. Either way, who cares. That's an all world name.
My favorite name of an athlete ever has always been former Providence PG God Shamgod. From that era, I was also a huge Fennis Dembo fan. Other all-time names?

This is all hearsay. I know nothing official and am not inside any inner circle.
Rumor is Conner committed to a non-commitable offer. After committing verbally, the coaches really haven't pursued his recruitment that hard and I don't think he's returned to campus since. Everything I've heard is that he will wind up elsewhere.
That and a buck-fifty will buy you a cup of coffee, though.

# | Virginia Tech Football Recruiting: 2016 WR Divine Deablo Commits to the Hokies Everyone keeps talking about all the WR commitments we've been getting but no one seems to be mentioning Conner O'Donnell. Did something happen with that commitment?
I enjoy living in the south, but I, too, have had disappointing experiences with southern hospitality. My wife and I moved to a small town in Georgia and pretty quickly learned that the only way to get to know people in the town was to be born there. The poor uneducated people stuck together and the rich educated people stuck together and we (educated, but poor and fresh out of school) were stuck in the middle. We were just too different. We were definitely outsiders despite our efforts to be friendly. In fact, people were nicest when they learned we were leaving. We had about a dozen people show up to help us move out, which was more than we have had positive interactions with during the entire year we lived there.
I still love sweet tea and country music and the slower pace, and we still live in the south, but now we're in a suburb-y area that we seem to fit in better. There's a lot of good things in the south, but there's also ignorance and poverty and racism and greed and some pretty skewed senses of priorities.

Wow these were spot on. But I have a problem with this statement:
Make sure to start the "Let's Go Hokies!" chant at least 30 times before kickoff

Sounds to me like a permanent part of VT's half-time adjustment procedures should be a quick call to Coach French. As usual, after reading French, I have to loosen the strap on my ball cap a size or two. Thanks for the edification.

I have a question for you about communication, since this is the element of the game I know the least about. When setting protections and reading the defenses, what's the sequence of events when the offense comes to the line? Does the center make an initial call, or one of the other linemen? Does the QB override what they're saying, or is there a quick back-and-forth right before the ball is snapped? This kind of mechanics stuff is really intriguing to me and it's hard to tell during the game what's going on.
Buddy of mine that's a UNC grad calls State the community college down the road. Their interactions are different than Duke-UNC. More like what UMD had for Duke. At least VT and loluva are separated by some distance. All three schools down there in the triangle are right up each others business.
I gotta ask. Joe, did Bud order a shirt or did you just send it to him out of an overflowing of thankfulness for all his years of awesome service to Virginia Tech?
