Nike could have done a lot better. We pulled out a new uniform for a big game and it was a dud.
If I remember correctly, they had some grey/silver pants too that looked like rec league pants. Thankfully, they weren't worn and they went with the maroon.
I just thought they looked cheap. I think our current design with grey and maroon & orange stripes would have been much better.
AB: So you're still not bringing back "Stick it in"?
WB: I'm not going to do that. No. Jim [Weaver] and Dr. [Charles] Steger, they changed that for a reason and I have too much respect for them on that. But I do enjoy the drum cadence. I understand why people like the cheer. I enjoyed the cadence and the tradition when I came as a fan and a visiting team administrator, but it just wasn't the right thing for some people. And I'm not going to bring it back.
Well...there it is.
I thought the new practice facility was being called the Beamer Barn? or is that just an unofficial place holder?
this. need more kids to disrupt #DMV2UMD.
was his original recruiter. might have got him if we didn't have to switch.

If he picked VT, that would have been the best outcome. However, I'm glad it was PSU and not Maryland. If it was Maryland, then the #DMV2UMD movement picks up steam and it might help with the Terps landing Tino Ellis. This is a manageable miss given Tech's plethora of depth at DT.
I think he's referring to how the gray unis looked to have somewhat of a baggy fit around the shoulders. Looked a little like a high school uniform in that regard. I like the idea but I think Nike could have executed a little better.
He seems like a good kid, but if we can afford to miss a recruit at any particular position, it is DT. So I'm not too upset. I wish him good luck in all of his future endeavors.
Interesting that he listed Moorehead

Four-star DT Ellison Jordan has committed to #PennState— Ryan Snyder (@RivalsSnyder) June 26, 2015
Off to State College he goes. Or at least as of right now.
I would say two main categories that I would put in this area of severity:
Repeated acts of violence or 1 particularly egregious act of violence.
Academic fraud/dishonesty especially if its a pattern over time.
One other area that would warrant consideration is physically non-violent offenses that cause harm to others (filing false complaints/accusations, verbal assault, etc.)
So, is it better for me to eat lunch before or after this announcement?
This observation about TGs salary and the fact stated earlier in this thread that Bud's salary drops a lot after this past season (and his flight to aTm earlier this year) helps paint a picture when combined with some other facts. Especially since they are still here. We know we all love the NRV area and VT, but money trumps that for a professional football coach with the credentials these guys have. We know that Whit had discussions with Bud and he is still here. These two things MAY be unrelated - but coincidences don't usually happen.
This discussion and the backdrop data on salaries certainly seems to "suggest" that Whit has a master plan and has had those discussions with Bud and probably TG as well about the future path for VT football coaching staff and their futures. If there wasn't a plan, I suspect these guys would have left already. Bud has considered it at least twice. TG used to coach in the NFL. You know his rep is known in the football coaching community.
I'm gonna say it now (and I may be wrong, but my gut says this): When Whit and Frank agree its time for Frank to retire (and Whit has a # of years max built into that to help hold this together), Bud will be HC and TG will be the DC.

I'm pretty sure every FSU (and Miami, for that matter) beat writer has a template for such articles, to be used every year:
"[insert 2nd/3rd-string player] suspended for [insert crime here]"
Id say 65% PSU, 30% MD and 5% us at best
12:30!!?! Weaver!!!!
Only at FSU can a QB punch a woman in the face and the response is "at least it's better than the last guy."
Hate to be negative, but I don't think he will pick Tech.
he does statistics and predictions. I don't think that is the full write-up for any of the teams. notice the line where he projected how we would do last year in scoring defense and he was off by like .6 points. He's giving a prediction that we will finish 16th in the country...
Which is exactly what Steele does. He isn't in the business of saying "This team will go 9-3 or my name isn't Lou Holtz!" He gives you the data so you can interpret on your own. The only predictions he does are the last line of each unit outlook, like this for the WR's:
"Despite (technically) being a little less experienced, I expect this year's returnees to be the top receivers making this unit more experienced and stronger, especially with a now veteran QB."
For Steele, that's praise. We lost Byrn and Stanford, but he thinks the WR corps will be better. He's not trying to tell you how many games we will win becuse that's a fools erand. He's telling you that we will be better at QB, RB, WR, OL, DL, LB, DB and ST's. That's all the units! That's huge praise for Steele. Usually you will have a group or two who he will say "this unit loses some experience and I will call them down a notch."
He has us ranked 16th, clearly he thinks we are pretty good.
