The Big East is dying, he apparently had a problem with their administration, and probably just wanted a change of scenery. People have said he has wanted out of Marquette for a few years now even when they were at their peak.
the big east is a shell of its former self, plus i'm reading the firing of their ad a few months back didnt sit well with him.

Okay, I believe that he is a step up from coach JJ. But let me be the pessimist for a moment. What if the reason he didn't make the tourney this year is his lack of production in recruiting? He knows that the program is going to be going down hill, and he has a convenient way out by going to tech. I'm still skeptical.
Wow. Read the Greg Doyle articles on the other thread. Buzz is universally adored by his fellow coaches and communities he works in. Averages a 22-10 season. And Whit mustered a massive commitment from the administration for hoops. This is a massive home run hire.
