Our coaches decided we wanted CJ and not Blanding. We knew we had no chance whatsoever with him because he outright stated that he wouldn't consider us (most likely influence from Thoroughbreds but no concrete evidence on that). CJ is plenty talented and the great thing about football is that it's a team sport. You can have 2 5-star athletes on the team, but if the other 9 on the field at the time suck, you won't be a good team. When you see us building a TEAM of talent and not just grabbing talented players, you should know our coaches have a plan for using them effectively.

So... you are complaining because they have TWO guys who are studs that got steered to them through questionable (at best) 7-on-7 coaches and required 400+ phone calls from Mike London in the last year to get, and are practically a walking potential violation? Big whoop, they can have them. I'm bummed we had a few misses, but this class is still really good. The sky is not falling. Chill out.

According to 247, FSU's incoming class has ***9*** players 6'6" or taller. That is equal to the number Tech has on its BBall squad.

Ah, I see what you did there. You read too far. there's an unsaid rule about all Bitter articles: Never read the comments

For some reason he has some of the most misinformed, ignorant, chicken-little shitheads in all of Hokiedom commenting on his blog. Don't even get him started on Jennie, whom he had to threaten to ban from making comments. maybe he's already done that. Some TKP faithful like the FifthFuller try to comment time to time to make AB's life better though.

Walker is closer to Brown than you might think. Also, having Brown and Blanding won't fix their offense.

We don't have anyone on our recruiting radar that comes close to the talent that Brown and Blanding have.

As I said, I MUCH MUCH prefer our class as a whole over theirs, but the cream of the crop for them absolutely dwarfs ours. (which is saying something about how the rest of their class is when you consider ours is still a higher rated class than theirs, even with our misses today).

Brock Ruble, 3 star offensive lineman, 6'8" 315 lbs: Dematha, MD....Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. That's a big boy.

Also, I'm adding his dad to the list of people I never want to fight. Dude's huge.

Seriously. Did he play somewhere? He looks like he could suit up and still go.

If you are really going to cry like a baby than I suggest you make sure Jose is also at home. Much more effective "grief counselor" to make you forget all your troubles.

It would be absolutely devastating to our recruiting class if we miss out on all 3 big name receivers we were in the running for.

As good as everything else in the program is, even if our OL gets incredibly beastly, we aren't going to do anything if we don't have anyone who can catch the ball.

Also, the "top end" of that UVA recruiting class is 4 players. Blanding, Brown, Kamara, and Steven Moss. There's also Corwin Cutler who prepped for a year. Those are all of their 4-star or more players according to 247. Meanwhile, the "top end" of our class is Shai McKenzie, Raymon Minor, Travon McMillian, Marshawn Williams, Vincent Mihota, Andrew Ford, Chris Durkin, Ricky Walker, Cam Phillips, DJ Reid, and Holland Fisher. That's not including Harrison if we get him or Ford who we should get. You still like UVA's top end more?

I keep trying to come up with a joke that utilizes D-Minor that isn't too long... wildly unsuccessful

Declaring every 7v7 coach a booster

I didn't say this. I was talking specifically about these coaches that are working in congruence with London and LOLUVA. When 7-on-7 coaches specifically channel kids to one school and they are not a high school coach then that indeed can be considered an act of a booster. There have been many cases of a kid or school getting into trouble for exactly this. That's not a scenario that's a reality.

Sounds like Frank doesn't want to do the hard work of selling

This is both erroneous and stupid. Erroneous part: Beamer and the staff may have slipped up the last several years but that doesn't mean they haven't been trying to sell these or any kid. Like most schools they need to invest time in the recruits that they know they can get, the ones they know they have a chance with and finding the diamonds in the rough for most of their available time. Chasing after kids that are already committed to LOLUVA and have no interest in VT, and who have been funneled their by their coach/handler who says things like "Fuck Tech" on twitter is the stupid part.

You want a better class of recruits. I agree. We should be landing 5 star kids. I agree. Dealing with this trash is not the answer and a waste of time and money.

Isaiah Ford committing at 2pm today. and Harrison is most Likely going to FSU.. I don't think I can wait till 2, if he (Ford) doesn't sign with VT I'm going home to "Jack and Johnny" to cry like a little baby

You can't have everyone, but I'd like to have SOMEONE.

I have Raymon Minor on line 1. Oh and Travon McMillian is also on line 2.

If you read the article from the Washington Post yesterday about the Hoos connections to those top players, then you understand why we never stood a chance. We didn't lose out on Blanding because we never pursued him.
