JJ cant even bring in the height that FSU can recruit to their football team.

I think we will have big recruits coming for sure, maybe not this year but in years to come. Often times we forget the time these coaches had to recruit since being hired. Lets give Lefty, Moorehead, and Grimes(although gone) credit for hitting the ground running. A lot of good quality Offensive recruits were in our grasp, some slipped away some committed.

But the main thing is that I think this has been the most entertaining/heart wrenching/ active recruiting year/class we have had in awhile and it all started with the hiring of 3 new coaches. Add the Beast Searels to the mix next year and we will be stealing recruits from Texas, Georgia and even UF.

Its always a great day to be a HOKIE

Next man up. The cupboard is not bare. Let's move on, celebrate the class we have, and go get some DTs and LBs for the 2015 and 2016 National Championship runs.

2014 DT Depth: Luther Maddy, Nigel Williams, Woody Baron, Ricky Walker, Steve Sobczack
2015 DT Depth: Nigel Williams, Woody Baron, Ricky Walker, Steve Sobczak, Freshman #1, Freshman #2

This is what good programs do. When they have high profile success, they immediately capitalize on it. FSU has been to 2 BCS bowls in a row, one a Natty Title win, and they're going even HARDER on the recruiting trail than they have been in the past because they know they're a hot item.

All I have to say is that I wished our coaches had done the same when we were in the middle of our most recent run in 2010 and 2011. Those 2 classes of recruiting blunders are why we're as down as we are right now. Thankfully, we've moved on from the main problems with the recruiting in those classes.

To the victor goes the spoils. To get the best, we have to be the best and that means we have to beat teh best. I think our current class with this current staff can do that.

I think it does somewhat depend on some 5 star WR that may pick FSU (i forget his name, sorry), but I wouldn't hold my breath that he still doesn't pick FSU. You never know though.

FSU: Top talent in the nation (top 5 recruiting classes the past how many years??), warm weather, hot girls.... Its hard to top that. I love Blacksburg with all my heart, but it just doesn't compare. Cant hate on the kid for wanting that. That being said, we do need to try and land some of these in-state studs that have been out there. If we want to contend for a National Championship, we NEED to start bringing in these top in-state guys... At the end of the day, they are just kids, its just a game, best of luck to all recruits.

You can't have everyone, but I'd like to have SOMEONE.

We are annually missing out on the TOP in-state players, especially when they're in positions of need. Its just not healthy as a program to be continually swinging and missing on elite talent in your own state. Its REALLY bad when your in-state rival, who you've mauled 10 years in a row, IS able to pull in not one, but two of these players in a single recruiting class.

I like our overall class a heck of a lot more than theirs, but the top end of their class absolutely blows ours away. Thats embarrassing.

Not only are they accepting money from the players' families, but it seems from that article that a lot of these families are struggling as is and living paycheck to paycheck. It's almost like a reverse Robin Hood. Profiting off the poor and needy. I hate the whole situation but this is one part of it that really gets me. That IRS non-profit status is a bunch of crap too. The organization itself might not make a profit, but that doesn't mean the coaches won't. London is supporting that with everything he has. I don't even call my parents 420 times.

I think this is a Big Deal. Rick DeBerry is a 5 star 2015 LB from the same school in Richmond. Lets hope he wants to play with his Highschool buddy at tech. We need Minor to start recruiting like CJ Reavis.

I saw on Bitter's post that Harrison's time to announce was TBA, is that him waiting on other WR's that could possibly commit to FSU? Does this bode well for us? am I reading too much into an 18 year olds actions?
