You don't just dump the winningest active coach in college football because of an average of 2 or 3 losses a year.

They looked pretty good. Should have had one or two more goals. A bad offside call and a poor pass from Mayrose, but that just means the goals are there to be had. UVA beat Santa Clara 4-0 early this year and I watched some of the Santa Clara/BU match earlier and BU looked as if they might go through. The ladies look like they are going to make a deep run if they can keep up this level of play.

Pace was bigger. That was about his only advantage. Odgen was a far superior player who could move and pull in ways Pace only wishes he could.

No joke, football was a consideration when choosing to stay at VT for grad school (admittedly though, the work itself was the biggest factor). I turned down a couple offers from other very good institutions in North Carolina to stay at VT. As soon as I had sent in my acceptance, I said, "now when do season tickets go on sale?"

hahaha...yeah no joke!! Western Albemarle was our "local rival" but they're AA along with Monticello and Charlottesville High so I'm sure you played them. We were AAA so we basically only played Western and a bunch of schools up in NOVA. We were the smallest school in our division at around 1800 I think (when I went through..I think they're larger now) so we usually struggled with sports. We had a state championship caliber LAX team and our soccer and tennis teams were both really really good. Football and basketball were not our strong suits. My freshman year we had a "star" QB in R.J. Archer. That name might sound familiar because he was the QB for William and Mary when we played them a few years ago. That was the best season our football team had in the time that I was there (I don't remember their record but it wasn't spectacular..probably in the .500-.700 range)
One of my problems with Hokiesport.com regarding the men's basketball coaching staff they don't tell us what role they play. It mostly touches on their experiences and how great a recruiter each assistant coaches are.
