Overusing u on this forum is bad form. We see enough of da U!
oh yeah

Goosebumps. Rivalry. Let's go.
Just because you're retired does not give you the right to be condescending. Based on a number of posts and your username, I'm getting the idea that you're just some grumpy old guy who talks down to everyone on here, so proceed if you take pleasure in pissing everyone off.
The "if you're so good, why don't you do it yourself" argument as it pertains to sports is the most immature arugment one can make. It reflects a complete lack of intelligence. Obviously your post is sarcastic because I doubt the average person is even allowed to get to his office, but what point were you even trying to make by posting that?
It's ironic that I'm saying this to someone who's been living for 3X as long as me, but I'm speaking on behalf of a number of people that you've belittled when I say you really need to grow up. And i know you're going to come back and tell me that I'm stupid/need to grow up so let me just reiterate that you're a 60 year old man picking fights with college-age kids on the internet.
Here's hoping the FAINTs drop to -3.
Thursday Night! Or at least I thought

Thank god Texas has an away game this week. I'll be downtown starting at 12 p.m. on Saturday with a front 9 bar crawl then Shiner's with some more HOKIES!!!
Regular season that is.
I'm not sure this is miserable. Last year seemed worse when the losses kept coming. 7-6 a year ago, and we've already matched the season wins tally from last year. This wasn't going to get better overnight.
I hope they put on a show for their families and fans in Hokie rebound win!
Because that's past misery.....
This would make me happy.
Hokies need LB's.
Lets Gooooooo!!!

Appreciate your work, it is top-notch.
That comment "everything but say that Logan was a gentle and caring lover" is hands-down the funniest thing I have read all week.
Also, you are right about BC. For the past five years this game has been something that we want to just "be over with". It might get interesting going forward if they can keep a good RB behind that monster O-line.
Gentlemen.
You are so nice to us, I'm going to cry.
For the line, yes. But the line's been playing well, for the most part. The reason we don't see more big plays off of the veer package is that the skill position guys struggle. We can get 4-7 yards all day long, but second- and third-level players come in to clean up the play, which is the responsibility of the WRs and TE.

I had a similar revelatory experience a few weeks ago. I was glued to the Duke game with that hopeless feeling that it was going to turn out exactly the way it did. All the while thinking back to the hype I had read, absorbed, and perpetuated during the week leading up to the game.
Still, I was just crushed as Duke converted on 4th down at the end. Then it happened. My wife looks at me, walks over and picks up our daughter (6 months old) and places her in my lap, just says, "I think dad needs his baby girl right now." I went from crushed to straightened out in about 2 seconds. The thing is, though, this didn't just fix the Duke game, but the Boise St. game, the Michigan game, and all the losses that have come and gone as well as those that are inevitably in our collective future. I will continue to live, eat, and breathe Hokies, but in a slightly different, better way than before.
I'm just saying that we should all have a greater appreciation for Tyrod Taylor. He was a great QB who made a ton of plays with few mistakes, despite having to learn on the fly with zero "real" coaching assistance. Most of those plays were made by his natural ability at quarterback.
Maybe not, but what more can they do? They're blowing out most of their opponents, and they're still undefeated. I still think they belong at #1. Yes, FSU and Oregon probably deserve it too, but hey. This is why we're getting a 4 team playoff.
Bah. Isn't it more difficult to hold a block for the extra time required for a QB to make a read, pull the ball out, and then get started up field rather than hold a block for a RB who already has momentum toward the LOS when he receives the ball? I see what you're saying in some instances (the TE is taking an influence step rather than blocking and the QB reads how the DE is handling that, effectively taking the blocking responsibility away from the TE), but as covered on the film reviews here, it's not working. The defenders aren't being influenced by the player movement and are just attacking the ball. As a result we have a slower developing play dealing with additional attacking defenders. Overall, that seems a much less desirable situation than quickly getting the ball in the RB's hands and only asking your blockers to get "a hat on a hat" for some positive yardage, even if they can't hold their blocks for a big play (note we're not getting ANY big plays out of veer or read option packages anyway).

double post error.
