I second your motion to never mention said moment in recent VT football history (or Marcus - even though we have the same birthday) ever again. It was a dark, dark day, and I apologize for ever bringing it up. Hokiebird, please forgive me. :(
Now about borrowing the schoolgirl outfit, we'll have to see. I made mine, maybe I can make one for y'all? Git you some.
Victoria's Secret tried to sell college themed stuff (that wasn't even erotic) and a bunch of schools decided they didn't want their mascot on underwear, like Minnesota? I think it was like two years ago.
I did some digging on this too and you're right. This is what Jimmy Robertson had to say.
Unlike last fall, when Williams failed to run 16 110-yard sprints in the required time, the redshirt sophomore from Manassas, Virginia, came back for the second summer session and arrived at preseason practice in phenomenal shape, looking to build on his record-setting 1,655-yard season a year ago.

So I guess a leaner and meaner Williams it is.
How many other teams in the entire country would Wilson not see SIGNIFICANT playing rotation at?
2? 3?
Good point on the timing, I still think we need to be at least in the discussion when votes are being casts as I remember some chart showing all recent winners were from eventual runner-ups or winners of the MNC...
The weight issue: at first I was jazzed, thinking his breakaway speed increased ala David Wilson...then I got worried that his strength would decrease and he wouldn't be able to drag NC State defenders like a crossfit routine gone bad.
But, I now have a different thought: I just read that he ran extra during the offseason to ensure he was ready to go, something about failing a conditioning test last year. So, maybe the 210+ was not his actual playing weight...maybe it was actually 202 last year as well.
I usually watch the games twice, once with a group, and then alone later. With a group, I can't pause, rewind, watch something over and over again screaming at my TV, "what the....."! I love the camaraderie of watching with a group, but I'm a bit too much for most people.
Indeed it's a great problem to have. Wilson basically told KT he'd rather redshirt than return kicks and get a couple of carries a game. Yet, he's still training to win the starting job. I love his attitude. There's a chance both Evans and Williams leave for the NFL next year and he's going to need to be in perfect shape to handle the load. I think when it's all said and done he's going to be the best of the bunch.
The picture on Hokiesports.com is epic. I was hoping to find a jpg of it without any of the writing, but was unable.
As far as a tag team nickname, I've dubbed them The 100 Proof Backfield. -- http://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2010/june/1/100-proof-backfield
I don't think we'll have to raise the crystal for him to be a finalist because the award is given in December before the MNC. But, we'll definitely have to win the ACC, beat Boise State and have no more than two losses for him to be in the hunt.
I think 1,300+ yards may or may not be enough, it depends on how he gets them. If he's going to average ~100 yards a game he's going to need to be consistent, have a high yards per carry and dazzle with a bunch of batshit crazy big gains.
What do you think about him coming into camp light?
Good call on David Wilson, he's a stud and coming into Tech he was very verbal about not wanting to redshirt, which thanks to Evans knee wasn't even an option. What to do with him this year seem to be a tricky little problem, although what a great problem to have. Regardless of him redshirting or not, you are correct, the ninja skills are very impressive and could come in very handy when that trip to south beach comes around in November.
Have you seen the picture on the front of Hokiesports.com today? I think the seniors tried to reenact a Facts of Life photo shoot from 1987. I miss the old days of photo shoots in junk yards, with the title Wreckin Crew.
By the way, do Williams and Evans have a sweet tag team nickname yet? If not I feel like its needed, doesn't need to be rushed but eventually needed.
Maybe I can get a Hokie Priest outfit.
You may have stumbled on a brilliant business idea, collegiate licensed erotic wear.
Like I say on twitter....Twit pic or it doesn't exist!
I go away for the weekend and miss so much excitement here! I second Seattle Hokie's motion to forever ban any mention of the 2008 ECU game. Might want to add Marcus to the list as well as he did nothing but screw us over (especially Pitt 2003).
Is it possible to borrow it? I mean I am no means a legend but I am thinking if there is a Hokie themed Catholic School girl outfit I can give my wife 4 to 5 seconds of a great fun. I have a 31" waist...wait, I mean she is a 2. Actually, I don't care who wears it, I will have fun regardless. Maybe I can get a Hokie Priest outfit. I haven't seen it on Project Runway this season but I bet it is coming.
Thanks for reminding me of the ECU game. I think I had blocked that out. I actually just threw a book across my room thinking about it right now. I watched that game at home and my wife had to take my dogs out because I was yelling so much. She came back inside later and said I know it didn't end well, I heard you. We are 4 stories up in the middle of a city.
Joe, I want to make a motion that there is no more mention of the 2008 ECU game on The Key Play. Punishment to be determined at a later date.
I saw somewhere that the unofficial word was to give a 2:1 RMFW to Darren evans carry ratio, and stick with whoever was hot. Interestingly enough, 2002 stats:
Lee Suggs: 257 carries, 1325 yards, 22 TDs
KJ: 160 carries, 871 yards, 9 TDs
That's about 3:2 on rushes and yards, and closer to 2:1 on TDs.
So, lets assume RMFW gets hot more often and gets the 60:40 split we saw here, are 1300+ yards enough? He passes the eyesight test with his video game-like skills..if Tech raises the crystal this year I feel he's a finalist.
Loved it! Can't wait to read your stuff again!!!
...are the ones no one should be around me for. I drove back from BC in a killing rage that didn't even simmer down into despair until I was past Lexington.
Bad ones like 2007 LSU are more fun with other people to commiserate/poke fun with as necessary. That one I watched at a party with a South Carolina fan, and the two of us couldn't agree which of our teams had less killer instinct.
was my reply to a boyfriend at the time after the alabama loss. he didn't get why i was so upset and didn't want to be touched. he told me i was being ridiculous because we lost, i told him he was gay. breakup ensued.
is the work of legends and only a select few have had the pleasure. of course, one of whom was a huge VT fan who was more focused on my use of throwback designs than the, ahem, presentation. we'll see what i can scramble up. i don't want my acct deleted! i AM in on the art development for goodness sake!
the ecu game was a lowpoint in my life. really, i was seriously depressed for a few days. i swore to disable glennon if i ever saw him face to face.
i get really awful too when i'm alone watching VT football. i'm surprised the few times that i've done it that a neighbor didn't report some kind of domestic abuse.
less than one month y'all!!!
i would rather watch VT games alone.
i can be a dick, no one needs to be around that. haha.
I don't handle losing well. I went to bed at 3 pm after the ECU season-opening loss in 2008 and didn't get out of bed until the next evening.
That game was an absolute debacle. I was actually expecting Glennon to make the most of the starting opportunity and turn some heads. That didn't work out.
The prayer is legendary.
It was either that or my TV was going out the window, but the window wasn't big enough.
I disabled the math on the comments. Hopefully the captcha during registration is enough to keep the spammers out.
or risk acct shutoff!
I second F4H!

Yes, I do recall that because they had Clemson and whatnot here in Charleston. No VT anywhere though, they only did a few select schools, but it was cute. Also, it was only t-shirts and sweatpants, nothing too "sexy"...
