Ryan Malleck commits to VT

Good get for the Hokies as Malleck bails on Maryland and signs on to the Hokies. A top 25 player out of NJ (Jason Worild's state, good pipeline) that had some no-joke offers from Nebraska, Miami, Uconn, UVA, and others.

He's an athletic-type that played the spread offense in high school but could play a variety of positions at VT (please don't throw 50 pounds on the guy to make him an undersized lineman). He's got great size at 6-5 230 and was clocked with a sub 4.6 - even more reason not to stick him on the line. I think he'll be able to compete for immediate playing time and could emerge as a receiving threat, especially if Lanier gets slid over to the big blocking tight end. Overall, a great addition to the class and hopefully the beginning of a strong finish.

But in unison everybody, "Thank you Stiney!"

That cannot be emphasized enough. We have four tight ends in this class, it'll be fun to see where everyone is going to end up.

Was moderately excited

About this recruit until I saw this highlight reel. The music puts it over the top for me. Future AP All American.

Row Z forever.
