Margin of Victory

Anybody else even more disappointed about our close-win-that-shouldn't-have-been-so-close-a-win now? All these upsets and everything, and the BCS "guru" Brad Edwards has Stanford jumping us for #5. That means that if further chaos were to go down next week, say LSU beats Arkansas, Auburn beats Alabama, Oklahoma beats OSU... (and we win -- this factor not an "if") ... That we would likely still be clawing for a #2 spot at the highest.

I know that some Tech fans were probably getting a kick out of seeing Clemson blow their game against NC State, but I wasn't one of them. If they had won that game (preferably in impressive fashion) it would have made our loss to them look better instead of worse. Now, the computers view that as a SOS weakness -- especially with the loss coming in Lane.

So basically, it'll be another "we'll see about next year" kind of season in relation to the National Championship race unless some absolutely, super-fucking crazy shit goes down. I'm not saying it can't... But if we look back to the last few years of college football, there's usually only one of these kinds of weekends - and I think we've just witnessed it.
